Good, why has it taken this long.

OP posts:

I think a security guy said that from that angle, it must have been a camera inside the smoke alarm. Obviously shouldn’t have been doing it anyway but clearly didn’t know about that camera.

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 22:47

You don't say !

"Matt once played the most northerly game of cricket on record, and succumbed to frostbite en route to the Pole. He retains all his fingers."

Doodlebug71 · 26/06/2021 22:47

I don't feel sorry for his wife. He's Tory, and has been one for many years. Well over a decade. She knew what sort of vile person she was married to. Their kids.... I may have sympathy for them. Kids can't help who they're born to.

1dayatatime · 26/06/2021 22:47

I'm actually really and genuinely sad Hancock has resigned.

So OK his incompetence in the job did lead to several thousand avoidable deaths and alright giving medical equipment PPE contracts to several of his family and friends (including the landlord of his local pub with no expertise in this area and also it transpires the brother of his lover) did cost the taxpayer hundred of millions in dodgy inflated contracts.

BUT his absolute incompetence, his car crash interviews from his downstairs loo and his rabbit caught in headlights expression when asked any questions was absolutely priceless entertainment these past few months.

So actually I will miss him.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 26/06/2021 22:51

I feel so bad for his poor kids. They don’t deserve this following them round forever

bollihigh · 26/06/2021 22:52

We need a Big Brother eviction highlights video of all his best fails. Probably best to leave out the thousands and thousands of coffins though and the anger of those most affected.

Hancock resigns
Cottonheadedninymuggins · 26/06/2021 22:54

@bettyfloormop

Apparently he's left his wife for her..
According to The Times his wife was completely blindsided.

He was told that The Sun were going to run it the next day so rushed home to tell his wife that he'd been having an affair and was leaving her.

They also say he even woke up their youngest daughter, 8 years old on a school night (not that waiting until the weekend/the following evening/the morning it broke would be easier to tell her but waking her - when she'd likely have to go to school the next day if her mum wanted to try and keep routine etc - seems incredibly cruel and spiteful) to tell her that he was leaving their mother.

Blossomtoes · 26/06/2021 22:55

If the NHS was run by the CEO of Tesco, it wouldn't waste the millions it does and be full over overpaid middle managers

It would be an absolute disaster. The NHS is non profit, its success is dependent on the best use of limited resources. A career in the private sector with profit at the core would leave the CEO of Tesco bewildered and foundering.

Peregrina · 26/06/2021 23:05

I didn't think that Tesco was doing all that well financially. Perhaps we could have the boss of Lidl - a bit of German efficiency?

thenightsky · 26/06/2021 23:09

The NHS isn't there to make money, did nobody tell you? It is there to provide a free at point of contact service to 67 million people, regardless of their previous health conditions, age, sex, race, financial status etc. It sees everyone regardless of any of those things, because regardless of where you think you are now, you have no idea where you will be in a year or so.

And we must never lose sight of this.

thenightsky · 26/06/2021 23:11

Didn't the Tories (maybe Thatcher) bring in Sainsbury's top people at one point, to no avail?

Unsure33 · 26/06/2021 23:13

@Doodlebug71

That’s the funniest thing I have ever read . No Labour supporters or ministers are or have ever been adulterous or hypocritical then ?

Most men it seems from this forum have done even worse.

MaMelon · 26/06/2021 23:15

Oh come on - everyone knows that Tory politicians do sleaze on a level no other party can match.

JeanneDoe · 26/06/2021 23:16

The only reason Hancock has resigned is because The Sun has further video evidence of him taking carnal knowledge of Gina over a desk...
Otherwise it wouldn't happened.
To think that this fuckwit has been responsible for the country's lockdown. Glad I pretty much ignored all his ridiculous rules! WHat an absolute buffoon.

Doublestar · 26/06/2021 23:20

Jenasaurus

ill just drop this here

PMSL!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Dustyboots · 26/06/2021 23:20

But resigning won't stop The Sun releasing more video evidence will it?

TheTuesdayPringle · 26/06/2021 23:21

@DareIask

I'm no fan but let's face it, if everyone who had broken a rule or had a bit on the side was sacked there wouldn't be many left working.

I don't like the way he was spied on and exposed either. That wouldn't be tolerated in the wider working world.

What an idiot though

But not everyone is a cabinet minister. The role requires not only leading but being seen to lead.
Dustyboots · 26/06/2021 23:22

And yes - my gut feeling to ignore the stupid sod's advice - or more like his guilt tripping/talking down to us like we were misbehaving kids ...

My gut feeling was right and I'm glad I listened to it.

BiscoffAddict · 26/06/2021 23:24

@Dustyboots

Tomorrow’s front page is actually disappointing! No more CCTV sadly.

I (like many - maybe most - people) stuck to lockdown and followed the rules despite thinking Hancock was a buffoon.

I have no respect for anyone in this government but do have a lot of respect for the scientists and medical professionals. If the general public hadn't largely observed social distancing then even more lives would have been lost.

MercyBooth · 26/06/2021 23:33

They got 95% compliance and then threw it back in our faces.

JustLyra · 26/06/2021 23:35

This is my concern too. How many spy cameras are there in ministerial offices? What else are they capturing besides illicit snogs?
Who is behind this?

Exactly.

This footage was taken in may apparently. So who is deciding what we do and don’t get to see?

Cattenberg · 26/06/2021 23:46

I think Hancock was the fall guy, and that Bojo and Cummings are worse.

I don’t know who keep voting for them either.

That's the funniest thing you ever read? You clearly don't read much.

Whataboutism on your part, pure and simple. That, and appealing to fucckknowswhat... "most men have don even worse". Are you Coladangelot, perchance? Nah,.. she's too busy being smug that she snaffled herself a "powerful chap". Even if he is a Tory.

Interestingly, his bios have him and his wide separated/him partnered with Coladangelalot already.

Zotter · 27/06/2021 00:12

Sounds ideal. Investment bankers.

Work 24/7, mostly super bright.

Make money , run efficiently, keep their client happy.

If the the NHS was run by the CEO of Tesco, it wouldn't waste the millions it does and be full over overpaid middle managers.

Am hoping his knowledge of money will help in the way funds are spent and we can start cutting out most of the useless middle management who do fuck all and use that money for HCP and social care.

Or just as likely continue the creeping privatisation of the NHS. Big money to be made turning NHS into a private, profit based healthcare model. Crap for most of the population though.
