I adore a plain, beautifully cooked and seasoned omelette. At most with a few chopped herbs but cooked on its own is fine. Served with a green salad - something like fresh little gem lettuce leaves or pea shoots - dressed lightly with lemon and olive oil.

Funky Nut cashew nut butter and Aldi's Specially Selected strawberry conserve spread liberally on Aldi's honey soaked seeded bloomer 😋

King prawns with spaghetti and pesto. Cook prawns in garlic and chilli, add a few cherry tomatoes. Boil pasta and drain, stir in pesto, add prawns. Lovely with a sprinkle of parmesan.

@Cowbells

pasta all'arrabiata - just tomatoes, red peppers, chilli and garlic slow cooked down and tossed in penne.

I came on to say exactly that. 😋

youngandbroken · 12/06/2021 17:47

Peanut butter or cashew butter on apple slices (or oreos Grin)..... or brie - just slices of brie on its own and I'm happy

multivac · 12/06/2021 18:01

OK, trust me on this. Ribbon courgettes, lime juice, toasted hazelnuts, salt. Heaven.

Oysters shucked by someone else.

Got to be poached eggs on toast for me too.

Since I have perfected my method, I have them fairly regularly as they literally take three minutes.

May favourite would be on that seeded bread, but whatever is available is good.

DowntheTown · 12/06/2021 18:40

Linguine tossed in olive oil, a bit of chilli, loads of lemon and cooked big prawns. Takes ten minutes and is so good.

DH and DS like some cream cheese stirred through and also crab meat stirred through too.

And a cup of tea. Bliss 😃
NeverDropYourMoonCup · 12/06/2021 19:39

Steak and salad.

Chicken and salad or rice. Plain or spicy.

Duck breast and salad. With a sharp sauce made from fruit.

Prawns and salad. Preferably chilli and coriander.

Salmon and salad. Spicy, with soy or just salt and lemon. Or plain rice.

Sushi. Sashimi.

Scrambled egg or omelette. No milk, cream or water, just egg and seasonings. Add mushrooms and coriander for a change.

Broths with vegetables and seasonings.

I could exist very happily on variations upon the meat/fish/egg and leaves/rice theme. Oh, and potatoes. Love them mashed, baked, boiled, steamed, chipped - have to reserve a place for the occasional chippie.

Sgtmajormummy · 12/06/2021 19:53

A whole head of cauliflower, lightly steamed, florets broken off and dipped in mayonnaise.

White toast spread with melting butter and bitter marmalade.

Wensleydale cheese and a Granny Smith apple.
