I have got tons of work today! shame none of the doctors that are available to type for cannot string a sentence together!

@Carosel2: Been back about an hour. I see lots of work to but now I am off to see by aunty and uncle SO, hopefully, there will still be some left when I get home!!

@danblack87 - hope everything went well for you or as well as could be in the circumstances . Hope you have lots of work to come back to and better dictation than me!

@Whitestar55 - hi - I have not been on here as not been receiving any notifications from Mumsnet. I find this happens from time to time and I get a little out of the loop.

Been having electrician issues - trying to find a decent one, and not too expensive - was quoted £45-£89 for the same job that took the chap literally 10 mins this morning when he finally turned up (changing one light fitting in kitchen for another that I had already bought. The old light was flickering and humming (transformer going) and rather off putting at times so sometimes had been cooking by lamplight).

I am glad this thread seems back to its old self and well done to those who sorted it out, much appreciated.

@danblack87 - I did think of you over the past week, hope things went ok and you managed the ferry journey.

@gally123, Glad to see you back, I was hoping you hadn't left after the recent fiasco we've all just been through.

@Whitestar55 - no, this here, this is a valuable lifeline for us home transcribers!

I have noticed an improvement in the quality of dictation in my tasks to be fair and the background noise has reduced dramatically, but there are some who are beyond help !

Im still getting one hospital clogging up the whole list. Im sure there are decent ones behind them but I have no choice but to try and type them otherwise Im not earning anything as it is constant, I cant help thinking if all of us in my specialty are seeing these they should dissapear eventually but they dont and the day after there are new ones coming in again from same hospital and from same docs. Its so frustrating.

@carosel2 - I am having similar problems with lack of variety, mainly seeing one specialty when I have a few and in that specialty mainly one hospital. Still hardly any easy to understand English as first language voices.

There was one dreadful dictation that disappeared quickly though, woman mumbling in a crowded room, you could not hear what she was saying for the noise. I was trying to look up my email to report it as not possible to type when it disappeared so I guess someone else reported it, so at least that seems to be working although there are many other dictations that come close.

@Gally123- I wonder if we have the same one! Tpro still busy thank goodness

@carosel2 - yes, over 1,400 letters on Tpro today - and now with the added incentive of the bonus.

Hi all, nice to see the chat has got back to normal. I didn't really see what had gone on much previously, just the odd one, but thought it was out of character for the group. Is everyone up to their eyes, over 200 tasks today waiting, so different than last year 😀

Love it when I can type at the weekend, especially when I’ve been busy in the week and not able to do any. I wish it was always this busy.

Decided to cut my losses too this week dictation/feedback a joke, a Christmas wish would have been nice from DICT8 but maybe asking too much !!!

Very disappointing dictation today. Absolutely awful quality with all the files on my page being stuck there since this morning and not shifting. Think I'll go and eat cake! Happy Christmas everyone and fingers crossed for a better New Year than the last 🎄🎅

Been out last minute food shopping today. Looked after grand-daughter yesterday. Went to my dad's day before ... not achieved much but see loads of work on. Merry Xmas all and Best wishes for the New Year !!!!!!!!

I have been typing mainly Tpro today now I qualify for the bonus and I am saving up hoping for a special holiday next year to make up for the mini short breaks of the last two years - extra incentive! (Plus, last year there was virtually nothing on DICT8 all Christmas Eve and Tpro dried up in the afternoon and there was little between Christmas and New Year so I am making the most of what is available).

As an aside, if anyone has a kindle or uses the Amazon website to read ebooks via the "manage you contents and devices" section of the website, my friend who is an author has her annual Christmas special offers starting today and running to 2 January (I think) with various books available as a free download over this period (one each day except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Today it is a ghost mystery story "Material Witness."

This is when it is so nice to be working from home - no pressure!
