Hi all........

OP posts:
Gally123 · 16/08/2021 22:03

@HalzTangz - I think you missed the point - my phone - which is my landline so it stays in my house - does not have a browser so I cannot manually type anything.

flutterby18 · 16/08/2021 22:38

@Gally123 - That tickled me more than it should have. Thanks for the laugh Smile

carosel2 · 16/08/2021 22:55

@flutterby18 - I agree we are entitled to our own comments regardless if anyone agrees its a forum to voice how we feel without being prejudice to others and if anyone wants to join in then so be it. Its nothing personal just an opinion.
On that note im having zero tasks which is odd after having over 100+ but again now down to the odd one popping up with again such horrible dictation. Its back to Covid era last year for.me when we were refreshing refreshing!

flutterby18 · 16/08/2021 23:14

@Carosel2 - I have noticed lately that Mondays are really bad but then usually a day or two later I am swamped.

Hope it picks up for you soon.

Gally123 · 17/08/2021 06:51

@carosel2 - I have noticed tasks are generally down, only ever seems to be a max of about 20. I think it is due to the summer holidays, doctors on holiday etc, it is always low at this time of year.

carosel2 · 17/08/2021 07:50

@flutterby18 - I do hope so, im skint! Grin @Gally123 - yes of course Ive forgot we are in school hols! Not much on Tpro for me either, this is going to be a dire month all round Sad

Gally123 · 17/08/2021 07:54

@carosel2 - yes Tpro are mucking about with groups again, I wish they would leave things alone!

Hi everyone, had no internet......again, seems like I haven't missed much (work wise), I see there is no work today. Not sure why it has gone so quiet again lately. I am again toying with the idea of going back to the NHS, just part time, to guarantee a good salary for social hours - I am very fortunate in that I live a stones throw away (walking distance).

OP posts:
Gally123 · 17/08/2021 09:26

@Chrissols - which internet are you with again? I need to change but I want someone who offers the free phone call evenings/weekends etc. Thanks. (if you have a lot of problems I need to avoid them)

I bumped into an old work colleague on Saturday who said that the local private hospital was always looking for relief secretaries for holiday cover. I looked on the website but there was only full time with consultant's secretary or assistant secretary and for both the pay was a lot less than I earned with the NHS.

Chrissols · 17/08/2021 09:40

@Gally123 I was with Sky but would advise avoiding them, never had so many problems. Have just changed to BT and so far so good. I went to BT as they were highly recommended on here. I have been offered two posts at our local hospital, both three days, one band 4 and one band 5 so really fortunate. I have to decide today, but think I probably will take one. I love working from home, but when work is sparse it is a real pain, and I have two holidays coming up - it would be nice to get paid for them.......

OP posts:
Gally123 · 17/08/2021 09:48

@Chrissols - yes I have seen BT mentioned on here and also my sister is with them but they have no offers at the moment unfortunately and much more expensive than I currently pay.

danblack87 · 17/08/2021 10:24

Hi all, I haven't been doing much Dict8 the last few weeks ... been decorating the house, Dr's, hospital, looking after grand-daughter and resting. Just waiting for a phone call from the Dr's and doing a few letters in between today.

Chrissols · 17/08/2021 13:31

@danblack87 you haven't missed much, work has been thin on the ground compared to the last couple of months. Hope you're okay with all your appointments, nothing to worry about I hope 🎉

OP posts:
danblack87 · 17/08/2021 14:09

@Chrissols: had an ultrasound two weeks ago ... can't concentrate on anything right now - been in so much pain. I was sent to A&E by Dr 3 weeks but the whole saga was incredibly ridiculous. They just did urine and bloods and told me to await the results ... a week later I phone for the results 'normal' ... still in incredible pain. Asked Dr to send me for a scan which she did and I had that the next day. One week later called for the results (still in pain, loads of painkillers). Was told their were no appointments left and would have to wait for phone call which should be today .... still not heard anything - at my wit's end!!! Sad

danblack87 · 17/08/2021 14:13

@Chrissols: feel like a 'drama queen' but I have not been in this much pain since 1993 and 1995 (I just want some answers ... I can't sleep, I am tired, knackered and can't concentrate on anything.

danblack87 · 17/08/2021 14:16

I have literally earnt about £40 in the last 3 weeks but that is due to circumstances beyond my control other than Dict8 .. although when I do check in the dictation is diabolical to say the least.

Chrissols · 17/08/2021 14:22

@danblack87 oh it sounds awful for you, really hope you get some answers as diagnosis is half the battle isn't it.

OP posts:
danblack87 · 17/08/2021 14:25

@Chrissols: yes diagnosis is half the battle ... I don't think I was taken seriously 3 weeks ago at the hospital (GP was sure quick in enough to get me in within 2 hours - 3 hours wait just for a urine and blood test and sent home ... give me strength. Codeine prescribed by GP following week when I called in for results - at that point I was taking 8-10 Paracetomol a day and 6 Ibufrofen (which we all know is not a very good idea) However, that is how bad the pain is. HOw are You?

Meha5a · 17/08/2021 17:35

@danblack87 hope things get sorted soon for you x I had an episode of incredible pain over 48 hours once that turned out to be a small stone passing (excruciating !) felt rough afterwards too. Rest up and hopefully they can get your sorted.

danblack87 · 17/08/2021 18:24

@meha5a: Thank you. still waiting for call. Finger's crossed.

Chrissols · 18/08/2021 09:36

@danblack87 Hope you got your call, and a little light at the end of the tunnel?

OP posts:
danblack87 · 18/08/2021 09:41

@Chrissols: Call now coming in at some point this morning ... waiting.

Chrissols · 18/08/2021 09:45

@danblack87 It's not good is it having to wait anxiously. I have been waiting for my operation for a year now, and have had no updates or anything to tell me what's happening - it makes you feel forgotten. I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't even need the operation it it had been completed properly in the first place 😫

OP posts:
danblack87 · 18/08/2021 10:17

@Chrissols: I think I am more sorry of your position than my own to be
honest ... This COVID pandemic has a lot to answer for - it's all delays, delays and more delays. Hopefully, you will hear soon. I called last night after I hadn't heard but was told the Dr would call me today as he ran out of time yesterday!!! Hope that it a good sign Hmm.??

Gally123 · 18/08/2021 14:32

@danblack87- are you still waiting for your phone call? I hate waiting. At least when my GP phones they give an approximately time range.
