@Chrissols: The working out of the audio hours to the typing ratio hours is completely impossible and unworkable.

@danblack87 I totally agree, it is literally more hours than there are in a week without taking a minute off to sleep 🤣🤣🤣 They must have meant to put 9 hours as that would be a good 20 hours typing, or more if bad dictation.

@Gally123 - just out of interest, have you been paid by T-pro as I haven't received anything yet, I know it is only the first day, but they have already missed me twice before. It is the weekend, but would have thought they would have sent it earlier. I know they will send it straight off if they have, but I wont' be happy if they have done it again, as I shouldn't have to keep chasing them.

@carosel2 - I've just checked and it went in yesterday, although I must admit to being a little concerned as I did not receive the usual monthly reminder about sending in invoices. I knew you had been missed once but not twice. When you joined Tpro did you complete the google form with your bank details etc?

I have also been concerned about their system this week as I noticed that I have not been credited with a couple of letters. I normally keep a daily record of numbers (to gauge my 150 limit and also in case tax man does a check on work) and at the end of the first day I noted that the number of letters I had typed did not match that on the system taking into account those in QC. Also I noted that the numbers of minutes dictation typed was still at 0! Not sure about the number of characters typed. I logged a message with their help desk regarding the number of minutes being 0 when I had typed over 30 letters and the next day I checked and the first letter I typed did not registrar so added that as a concern. The minutes typed did slowly move but I am still not sure it is accurate. I was told the missing letters in my total were in editing and then would go to QC before being credited to my account but I am still 4 letters short from what I think I had typed, and they are all the same specialty - so I am avoiding that for the moment as I am not typing something I am not being credited and hence paid for.

@Gally123 - yes they didnt pay my first invoice but because it was only two weeks at the end of the month I wasnt too bothered as it was added to next. Then May invoice was missed. I had a message saying apologies you can be assured this wont happen again! I did fill in everything correctly and sent it in on their template invoice as usual. I did ask if there was a problem at my end the last time and he said no, that he didnt know why it had been missed. I sent it through July 31. Once Ive sent it I dont usually type again that day until my dashboard is clear again as I too have questioned work that doesnt seem to have been included. I usually go by my character count and add it up by each letter. At the end of the day I match it with theirs and its never the same. I was told that it may be because if they have randomly checked letters and had to alter them they could be taking words out or adding in, but Ive never had it where Ive been over if they have added any in. I get it if Ive sent some through to QC and that they may be waiting to be checked but this happens even when there aren't any.
Theyve obviously forgotten again. Ive looked at its still not in. Theres hardly any work on too at the moment just 115 last time I looked which yes is still good but ive noticed its the poor dictaters. Theres been 500 plus recently. Il email them now so they can pick it up Monday. Im not happy. We shouldnt have to chase this. Ive got bills and when you work up front you need to know that money will be there, after all we wait a month for it. Same as you with Dict8, they wouldnt like it if their wage didnt get paid. @Gally123 - sent a message and they have replied confirming it has been paid Friday and said my bank must hold it a bit longer than some. May have to change my bank! At least ive got it and will just have to wait for Monday. Phew. Ive had nothing but trouble since Yorkshire bank got taken over by Virgin so Il have to seriously consider moving to another.

@carosel2 - I had a Yorkshire Building Society mortgage once and could not wait to change it (not sure if they are connected).

I bank with Lloyds. I also have an account with First Direct but after many (many) mistakes I am in the process of changing things over. I did check before I changed to Lloyds about the charges for Euros and I think they are much the same as First Direct in the conversation rates they use. At present neither charge for Euros.

I did post earlier here but it does not seem to have registered - I mentioned about you querying with Tpro why you do not get a monthly reminder about invoices and cut off times for sending them in.

@Gally123 - The first time l got a reminder was when I just started. When I didnt get paid I thought id done something wrong but when I found out it was their end I just thought Il defo keep an eye out now and make sure its done on the last day of the month. Especially when it happened again in May. I can only wait now to see if it goes in Monday. If it does I have a Halifax Building Society account. I may change it to that. Hi All! New to this..

I recently joined Dict8 having never worked self employed or for a private transcribing company. I was an audio typist for the NHS for four years and still work part time for them but in a different job role as Admin. I thought I would earn a lot more with dictate but I’m only added on to one speciality and things seem slow.

Just looking for some advice as I’ve seen a few posts about T-Pro. I have sent them my information in the hope of being employed by them. Just looking for some help!

1. Can anyone recommend a good (decent priced) foot pedal that would work with the Dict8 system and T-Pro?

1. Can anyone help and tell me how I send an invoice to Dict8/ how to do an invoice (this is something I have never did before!)

1. Self assessment for tax. How do I go about getting a self employed tax number or doing tax etc. Absolutely no clue!

@Chrissols Hope everyone is well. I’m enjoying DICT8 but I have a query. I have gone onto tasks and it says 1 task but when I click on it it doesn’t open the page to type it. Does it mean somebody is typing it? I thought it took the transcript off if somebody had selected it. Can you confirm please I’m a bit confused 🤷‍♀️ why I can’t open it. Thank you 😊

@paula035 glad you’re enjoying it. To be honest, I’m really not sure about that one, as you say, if someone was typing it then it should be showing. Have you logged out and back in again to see if it’s still there? Sounds like a bit of a glitch 🙃

@Chrissols Yes I have logged in and out and I can play the transcript but it doesn’t open up a transcription page! I am assuming it means somebody is typing it which is why it isn’t available to me to type and I can only play it, but I thought if somebody was typing it it wouldn’t be showing on my task list!

@paula035 - that doesnt sound right at all. If the task has been taken it would not be showing at all. You can listen to a task by clicking on the task to listen to it to see if you are happy to select it, (im sure you know that though) but if you click on to transcribe it, it should allow you to type it. Perhaps as Chrissols says it may be a glitch on the system. Hopefully tomorrow I.T. will have rectified the problem.

I'm not sure how everyone else is getting on this week but the quality of my dictations are absolutely dire. Why is there no quality control. I have never heard such utter garbage through headphones in my entire life. Get it sorted Dict8 . End of rant.

@flutterby18 I’ve only done the odd one as it was getting silly and had plenty of other work. The odd ones I have done this week though have been good so I might get back into it.

@flutterby18 - I have only done a handful as the quality has not been great, but it has been like that for weeks now. They obviously have not taken any notice of comments made during their recent phone calls when they asked for feedback.

@Gally123 I still haven’t had a phone call……very rude 😂

Anyone else still waiting payment from Tpro? Have to admit I am a little annoyed with them.

@Chrissols - maybe they just overlooked you, thinking that had phoned or maybe phoned when you were out etc. Or perhaps they had so many people making the same comments they gave up as they had the information they wanted (or the receptionist quit as fed up making the calls etc).

@Gally123, @Chrissols - someone mentioned on here about why don't they email people instead of phoning - that happened. So I have probably outed myself here and also proves the thread is being read. Past caring.

Quick question ladies. I have extensive experience audio typing, I work in the NHS now but I'm an Executive assistant, I do medical transcribing though. My line manager would be very happy to provide me a reference, I would like to do this just for extra pocket money.. Is it worth applying??

I had my email/phone call earlier in the week. I did ask why it had taken some time. "With 5000+ transcribers to contact and each phone call taking about 30 mins, it will take a while to contact everyone". Seems perfectly reasonable to me. I guess if you are unhappy that you have not made it to the contact list yet- why not just email. Sorry Im having a really grumpy day - migraine. For any newbies to DICT8 on here - it is not all bad. I love the freedom of working from home and in no way would I want to go back in to the NHS. Like everything there are positives and negatives - it really isnt all negative. Like I say - having a grumpy day.
