@MercyBooth arghhhh. I'm reading that book now with the intention of reading some of the thread. Sigh.

@BogRollBOGOF, sympathies with the isolations. It's just the absolute pits.

MercyBooth · 28/06/2021 20:34

@BogRollBOGOF its all so bloody frustrating Flowers

@LemonCake79 I finished A State Of Fear last Monday. The parts of that thread that did discuss the book were very interesting. Then unfortunately we had someone that rocked up with her own virtual version of Fahrenheit 451 and got what she wanted.

Worldgonecrazy · 28/06/2021 21:19

It shows just how dangerous the book is to the propaganda that people will try so hard to stop people reading it.

I hope that the thread made a few people wake up before it got pulled

The thread has hit the buffers before I had a chance to read it

Ostara212 · 29/06/2021 00:05

I don't believe in karma
But perhaps happy coincidences happen.

MercyBooth · 29/06/2021 02:25

Well i reckon Hancock is off the front pages today if not tomorrow.

ISaySteadyOn · 29/06/2021 10:14

Miserable morning. DS kicked off going to school and it's probably my fault. Got him in eventually though.

I wish I could stop being the complete fuckup that I am and be the brisk efficient mother my children need. Problem is they need that woman cos of me. I'm so tired of being me. I wake up every day wondering what I am going to fuck up today. And then I think my self hatred in and of itself via how I fuck up daily.
I wish I could have a break from my stupid brain and go along on a ride in the brain of a brisk efficient woman.

I didn't know who else I could tell about this except all of you. You don't need to pay attention to it or anything. Just here felt safest to get it out.

Taswama · 29/06/2021 11:31

Flowers @ISaySteadyOn

Worldgonecrazy · 29/06/2021 11:43

@ISaySteadyOn

Do not be so hard on yourself. No one gets given a parenting manual free with every child. Most of us just do the best we can.

Have a massive hug x

WouldBeGood · 29/06/2021 12:16

@ISaySteadyOn if you find a brisk efficient woman to piggy back, please may I join?! 💐

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 29/06/2021 12:18

@ISaySteadyOn Flowers Brew

You don't sound like a fuck-up to me. You got your DS to school, that sounds like a win all things considered. All you can do is your best.

BogRollBOGOF · 29/06/2021 13:18

Getting kids into school can be a major act of psycological warfare.

I'm never going to be the calm, collected organised mum, but I'm fun, the DCs have their needs met, they think I'm mostly awesome and they function in society. Not such a bad result.
That doesn't mean my brain doesn't piss me off by not playing ball with what society deems as being the easy way to do things but I normally get there in the end.

And to prove the point I've just emptied the dishwasher and then left the clean pan I needed in there to get dirty at the early part of the next cycle Hmm

ISaySteadyOn · 29/06/2021 13:29

Psychological warfare is right. DH took the brunt of DS' kicking off though.

School is great about it. They'd rather we bring him in late if he kicks off so he doesn't think that that will work. They genuinely have our back.

justasking111 · 29/06/2021 13:51

Kids kick off about school sometimes you have to grit your teeth and be firm. Unless there's something bad happening at school in our case a fruit loop TA who was caught by a parent and confirmed by the schools CCTV

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 29/06/2021 18:30

FWIW — I’m reading the Stste of Fear book as well at the moment. The thread may be gone but its influence lingers… 😬

MercyBooth · 29/06/2021 21:18
