After been desperate to watch the gifted and not finding it anywhere cheap, hurrah, Disney plus has it. Loved it...till I found it was cancelled after season 2 Sad

More that gutted me:-
Firefly
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Hex

There’s probably more that I will add but these are off the go of my head

@InglouriousBasterd

There was a brilliant show called (I think) Flash Forward and they bloody cancelled it, leaving the audience on a cliffhanger.
yes this is my no.1 cancelled show that so annoyed me.

Also 100 Code (Michael Nyquist and Dominic Monaghan)

Homes Fires - yes. Great cast.

The Orville - whats happened to that. Brilliantly funny take off of star trek. (Unlike the crap that was Hugh Lawries recent space show).

Person of Interest was definitely finished. I find the issue with most American seasons is that the producers and writers lose all interest for the final series, so they are normally crap. Look at all the CSIs, Criminal Minds, NCIS is going the same way - the final series always rubbish.

But UK Hustle ended well.

  • sorry after checking GNO was Not recommissioned at all. Must be thinking of something else!
DustCentral · 17/05/2021 17:26

I’ve still not forgiven them for not making the final instalment of the Divergent series movies. Raging!

@SudokuMania

Studio 60 on the sunset strip Vinyl Enlightened
Yes to Vinyl

Love Child- was about 4 seasons, Australian drama set in the 60s. Then they didn't renew it.

ADragonCalledKeith · 17/05/2021 17:35

Teenage bounty hunters!
Cant believe they made one season and jacked it in!

theceilingnerfgunblackdot · 17/05/2021 17:35

@MrsHandles

Home Fires on ITV. Set during the Second World War. The last episode saw a plane crash into one of the houses in the village, it wasn’t revealed who had lived or died. As the credits rolled, the continuity announcer said it was the last ever episode!
I was gutted that didn't get further series. Sirens - ch4 about paramedics. Dark and very funny Someone upthread said hustle. That came to a very definitive end with a big reveal. I love hustle! Hotel Babylon was my secret tat tv that I would have loved to have seen multiple series of
MilkchopsMcgee · 17/05/2021 17:46

Jericho it was so good
Dollhouse the ending felt so rushed
Life with Damien Lewis was brilliant

Also agree about not making the last divergent film, don't split the book trilogy into 4 films if you have no intention of finishing it Angry

randomlyLostInWales · 17/05/2021 17:47

The Orville - whats happened to that. Brilliantly funny take off of star trek.

I don't think it's been canceled.
I've seen series 1 and 2 and there's a series 3 been filmed but been moved from FOX to someone I havent heard of Hulu ? -just not found when and where it's being shown in UK yet.

LadyHalesBroach · 17/05/2021 17:56

@TurdCrapley they’re making s2 now xx

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 17/05/2021 17:58

Banished. It was a BBC drama about the Australian penal colony. It was bloody brilliant, fantastic actors and ended on a cliffhanger...and then they cancelled series 2! It was years ago and I'm still not over it. I've reached the first season 3 times 😅

greymayday · 17/05/2021 17:59

@depopsa

The Get Down, also on Netflix. Such a celebration of life and hip-hop culture, with the vivid exaggeration of reality by Baz Luhrmann that I loved as a young'un in his Romeo & Juliet film. Loved the music, loved the stories, loved the filming. So sad to not get to see how the characters did when they made it to the top (or not).
Completely agree! One of the best series I’ve ever watched, from the music to the outfits to the cast. Was absolutely gutted.
Neonprint · 17/05/2021 18:02

The OA

BettyUnderswoob · 17/05/2021 18:03

Ah, I also came on to say Flash Forward. I was so so angry and upset by this (I know, I know!)

Still am, actually.

MsIreneWinters · 17/05/2021 18:03

Head over Heels from about 1993. It was a terrible show about a groups of girls at finishing school but I loved it!

Cocolapew · 17/05/2021 18:03

Boomtown, I think there was only one series but it was so good. I don't know anyone else who remembers it.
Southland, it had loads left in it.
Prime Suspect USA.
Rescue Me.

SwimBaby · 17/05/2021 18:04

Looks like there are quite a few of The OA fans on here. I so miss the ‘movements’. Series 3 please, please, please.

DareDevil223 · 17/05/2021 18:09

So many

Travelers
New Street Law - ended on a cliffhanger
Munroe with James Nesbitt - loved that
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
But the one that I am still upset about after 8 years is Whitechapel. I loved that programme and it had so much to wrap up when they cancelled it. I will be bitter about that until the day I die Grin

CleanQueen123 · 17/05/2021 18:16

Another vote for Glow. That was especially frustrating because they said they were going to do a fourth season, then it got delayed by Covid and they decided not to continue Sad

Also, The River. It was a sort of supernatural horror type thing set in the Amazon. It was really good but never got beyond the first season. There were rumours of a second being commissioned but it didn't materialise.

Slub · 17/05/2021 18:22

Harlots

Slub · 17/05/2021 18:23

And a LONG time ago The Quest

Glitterypinkmoomin · 17/05/2021 18:25

Another vote for Pushing Daisies.

Plus Dallas. I spent the best part of 20 years coming to terms with the initial cancelling only for it to be resurrected and then cancelled on a cliff hanger!

Reinventinganna · 17/05/2021 18:26

Still not over them cancelling my so called life Grin

MrsWarleggan · 17/05/2021 18:26

@ChampagneCommunist

Totally agree. Watching it again for the (I think) 4th time. I always come over a bit unnecessary when KS says "son of a bitch" for the first time! Me and DH actually cheered!! 😂😂

sergeilavrov · 17/05/2021 18:27

The Bill - the new 'consultant' show is not it. I want Phil, Grace and Neil back
Holby Blue was great too, can't even find S2 on DVD

OverByYer · 17/05/2021 18:28

‘16:12 DrRamsesEmerson

North Square. Long ago on C4, had an absolutely fantastic cast. Canned after one series and I still regret it!’

I loved this too, fantastic cast. RIp Helen McRory
