How many covid tests have you done?

Just wondering whether we are unusual in that neither myself nor DH have had need to do a covid test at all?

DD hasn't done one either as she has been too unwell to return to school, so hasn't had to do the twice weekly tests that secondary pupils are doing.

Is this common, or are we an unusual household?

I think I’ve had 5 PCR tests. 2 were when I was in hospital last year, 3 were because I had symptoms. All were negative thankfully. Done countless lateral flow tests.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 15/04/2021 09:42

1 at the airport when I moved last year and 1 when my bosses tested positive.

You now have to have a test 72h max before going to any appointments or to restaurants/ Bars now so I see a lot more coming up!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 15/04/2021 09:46

1 test which i was advised to do by my GP as i had a chest infection. the test came back negative

I have done 2, both negative. I have ordered the quick 30 mins ones tho and will do one a week now that we are getting back to normal. I think everyone should do!

MrsJBaptiste · 15/04/2021 10:53

None for DH and I.

The kids are doing LFT twice weekly for school/college.

35andThriving · 15/04/2021 18:11

Zero as a family of 3.

WeAllHaveWings · 15/04/2021 18:21

ds(17) does LFT twice a week when in school.

dh who works out of the house did a LFT one at a walk in when it was local they asked people who had no symptoms to go and get done.

I have been WFH throughout and go out with dog and/or family for walks in quiet places only. Everything else is delivered, so didn't feel the need to be tested.

Well done to everyone, especially your dc, for keeping up testing for the benefit of others.

AlrightTreacle · 15/04/2021 18:57

Just totted it up to about 63 in total. 23 PCR and 40 lateral flow tests. None for symptoms, all for work and a research study I'm part of.

I still gag everytime 😂.

bananaboats · 15/04/2021 19:09

None here for me and dh, had no need to

MillyMollyMardy · 15/04/2021 20:10

I've no idea, lots.
Several PCRs preop before self isolation, taken as symptomatic (sore throat, headache, temperature) then I work in healthcare so twice a week LFTs since January.
Ds is in secondary school so LFTs since they went back.
Dh is a hypochondria so LFTs for various feeling unwells.
A big chunk of the population must be testing regularly.

Sparechange · 15/04/2021 20:17

No PCR or LF
3 antibody tests - 1 when they first came out to see if I had actually had covid (I had, it came back positive). Then another one a few mo the later when work offered them for free to everyone, and then a third one on the 1 year anniversary to see if I still had antibodies (I did)

ItsSnowJokes · 15/04/2021 20:20

Probably about 28 ish PCR tests and probably now 14 LFT tests.

I am part of a vaccine trial so have had to do more tests than most!

NotMrsTumble · 15/04/2021 20:20

One PCR as part of vaccine trial. LFD tests twice weekly for dh and I (healthcare) and for ds 16 (school). All negative so far. Dc 8 and 18 haven't been tested. Youngest caused us all to isolate at the very start, before testing was widely available, but it was definitely a cold as none of the other 4 people in the house got ill, and even allowing for 1/3 cases being asymptomatic, one of us at least would have been unwell. Yes, a waste of plastic, but definitely reassuring before heading into work.

sanityisamyth · 15/04/2021 21:02

15 I think. DS7 is the same. We're both involved in a trial so we're tested monthly. It was weekly! We've also had two for having cold symptoms which needed to be confirmed.

Mmmmdanone · 15/04/2021 23:11

0 for me. 1 for DS (negative).

BluntlySpoken · 15/04/2021 23:15

None. And I wouldn't if we had symptoms we would just all isolate for the 10 days.

Mrsmch123 · 15/04/2021 23:18

One pcr a week since may
Two lfds a week since January

2, one for work and one for a nasty cold. Dd aged 5 has had two tests also but no-one else in the house.

CazM2012 · 15/04/2021 23:26

Probably about 20 now? We are part of the ONS survey so for the first month it was weekly and has been monthly for several months, plus a couple of tests when I had symptoms and some lateral flow tests.
There are 6 of us and all have had the ONS testing so children have done 10-12 each, DH those plus quite a lot of lateral flows through work so probably 30+.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 15/04/2021 23:28

We can all get the LFT ones now - why aren't people doing them? I work in a college. I've done approximately 5 PCRs as suspected symptoms and about 12 LFTs. All negative but at least I know I am probably not symptomatically spreading it to all and sundry.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 15/04/2021 23:38

3 for me, 3 for my toddler, 2 for DH.

Plus a load of the rapid home tests too.

WorraLiberty · 15/04/2021 23:40

DH = 0

Me = 2 per week for work

DS = 2 per week for 6th form

tywysoges · 15/04/2021 23:47

We’re also doing the ONS survey and have had 5 or 6 so far (started in February). Hadn’t had any before that, and had 2 in the last couple of weeks because I’m not feeling quite right so the GP suggested it. All of mine have come back negative so far (still waiting for the latest ONS results but had one at a testing centre since which was negative).

My thoughts exactly. Surprised at the number of people who aren’t doing them especially where DC are at school.
