How many covid tests have you done?

Just wondering whether we are unusual in that neither myself nor DH have had need to do a covid test at all?

DD hasn't done one either as she has been too unwell to return to school, so hasn't had to do the twice weekly tests that secondary pupils are doing.

Is this common, or are we an unusual household?

I was testing fortnightly from May last year and then twice weekly since January. All for work (in a school) I’ve never had symptoms. DS tests twice weekly for college. DH tests twice weekly with me as a family member of a school worker. None of us have ever had symptoms.

Loads, I feel very bad about all the plastic waste.

32 in total.
5 pcr the rest lft.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 14/04/2021 19:23

None. DH hasn't taken one either, and neither have either set of parents.

TeenMinusTests · 14/04/2021 19:23

Those of us in testing-free households are definitely in the minority it seems.

With the lateral flow tests, I test daily before work (at a COVID testing centre), my daughter tests twice a week (she's a TA) and my son and husband never test.

For the PCR tests, we all test for ONS research monthly.

None of us have ever been tested because we've had symptoms.

Snorkelface · 14/04/2021 19:23

About to start 2 a week, none before that

Trinacham · 14/04/2021 19:25

never had one, neither has my husband. We've never had any symptoms to need a test (other than at the beginning of the pandemic, when we just had to isolate)

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 14/04/2021 19:28

In England twice-weekly lateral flow tests are available to all adults and children over 11.

I've never had to test for symptoms - just the lateral flow tests.

underneaththeash · 14/04/2021 19:29

DH - none
DS1 - three PCR (keeps getting a temperature and cough!) lots lateral flow as secondary
Me - 1 PCR (cough), lots lateral flow as HCP
DS2 - one PCR (cough abs temp) lots lateral flow as secondary
DD - one PCR cough and temp.

3CCC · 14/04/2021 19:37

18 tests in total
10 pcr & 8 LFT

All have been negative

3CCC · 14/04/2021 19:38

Should add that has been since last October

And I'm doing the ONS survey and work in a school

Butternutsqoosh · 14/04/2021 19:40

I've lost count, I'm cabin crew so test on the day or day before a flight and now on day 2,5 and 8 after a trip - not easy remembering though!

MonsterMash2210 · 14/04/2021 19:41

My husband has regular PCRs through work plus has tested 2 times due to symptoms, I have had 3 PCRs due to symptoms and a antibody test, my son has had 3 PCRs due to symptoms, and my daughter has had 2 PCRs due to symptoms (oh the joy of school germs!).

All tests have been negative!

My parents however have managed to go through the whole pandemic without ever testing. Something they are very relieved about!

LubaLuca · 14/04/2021 19:41

More than I can remember. I've been doing them for the ONS study, and we've been doing regular tests at work.

WaferThinIce · 14/04/2021 19:50

God knows
2 pcr due to hospital admissions and twice weekly lateral flow since the beginning of the year for work for me
None for my partner so far
Daughter has tested regularly at work
Son no1 3 x pcr
Don no2 5x lft

Mistymountain · 14/04/2021 19:52

Neither of us have had to do a test. Never had symptoms and both retired so no work reasons

ColinKnocksTwoPence · 14/04/2021 19:56

1 PCR invited from the Zoe app.
2 LFT when visiting my Mum in a Care Home.

All 3 negative.

1990shopefulftm · 14/04/2021 19:56

2 PCR on the maternity ward (doing one between contractions was fun, the second when I developed sepsis) , the 1 PCR I did at home when I had a temp and I ve just started doing twice weekly lfts which are a doddle compared to pcrs in hospital

LaurieFairyCake · 14/04/2021 20:06

None yet (London)

petalpower · 14/04/2021 20:13

DH none
DS (age 21) none
Me - weekly Lateral flow tests weekly to visit my aunt in a care home
DD (age 18) loads of tests - at uni and also working in a nursing home during her holidays

Deadringer · 14/04/2021 20:17

None, 5 adults one teen.

firstimemamma · 14/04/2021 20:23

1 and it was only because I had to in order to see my GP. It was negative and just felt like a disgusting waste of plastic.

BettyOBarley · 14/04/2021 20:24

DH has tested once (positive).
Me and 2 DC isolated but didn't test.
We're just about to start the twice weekly testing programme through DC school.
