How many covid tests have you done?

Just wondering whether we are unusual in that neither myself nor DH have had need to do a covid test at all?

DD hasn't done one either as she has been too unwell to return to school, so hasn't had to do the twice weekly tests that secondary pupils are doing.

Is this common, or are we an unusual household?

None.

EcoCustard · 14/04/2021 20:28

None so far. DH none, and kids none either. I only know of 2 people who have tested for symptoms and that was mid December, another individual tested after close relative tested positive.

breadbinbaby · 14/04/2021 20:31

One (negative) in preparation for travelling at Christmas, which we ended up not doing. My 18 month old has had two to be allowed back to nursery after a temperature. Ghastly.

I've had 2 tests both prior to having an operation. DH hasn't had any tests.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 14/04/2021 20:36

I'm doing the ONS study so test regularly for that. Only had to do a test off my own back once and that was because we were requested to at work as we had a big outbreak in January. Every single test I've done is negative and I've also just tested negative for antibodies.

DS age 7 has not had to do any and his school bubble has never burst.

MinnieMountain · 14/04/2021 20:39

DS has had 4, all negative as expected but he gets a bad cough with his colds.

I had 1-negative. DH has had none.

someoneiou · 14/04/2021 20:39

One. And it was positive.

LizB62A · 14/04/2021 20:44

4 "proper" tests as directed by the ZOE app based on my responses to their questions.
Then for the last few months our local council has been doing lateral flow tests for people without symptoms so have been doing that twice a week as my son works in a school (he gets tests from school, I don't)
And now I've picked up a month's supply of the quick tests to do at home
All negative so far

GlowWine · 14/04/2021 20:44

None for DH and me but both DDs twice a week now since school restarted so that's 10 LFTs for each of them.

catfeets · 14/04/2021 20:51

None. I'm working from home and my DP is emergency services but no need to have a test so far.
I don't personally know anyone who has had a test.

smithyca · 14/04/2021 20:54

None. Both worked in public facing roles right throughout and we've had no need for one.

TheFlis12345 · 14/04/2021 20:57

About a dozen. Four were invited by the Zoe app and the rest were private ones required for certain work scenarios. All were negative.

HairyPits · 14/04/2021 20:58

Zero

MixedUpFiles · 14/04/2021 20:59

None. DH and I wfh and dd is doing remote school. We hardly ever leave the house.

Our streak is about to end because DH is having a medical procedure soon and has to have a Covid test prior to hospital arrival.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 14/04/2021 21:01

Me 0 but the teenage dc have been doing them since they went back to school

Waitinginthewings · 14/04/2021 21:06

Loads. Probably 8 over year. Always for symptoms.
Kids had similar amount- 2 were prior to surgery/ hospital stays.
I hate doing them.

whatswithtodaytoday · 14/04/2021 21:12

I'm doing my fifth tomorrow 🤦 I have a two year old at nursery, he picks up everything and gives it to me. I'm sure this is just a cold, but he spiked a fever today so they won't have him back without a test, and I've started coughing.

badlydrawnbear · 14/04/2021 21:16

I have done a lot of LFTs for work but no covid PCRs.
DC1 is the only one of the 4 of us here to have had a covid PCR. She developed a cough while isolating as a contact of covid in school. Testing my own 9 year old was among the least fun I have ever had. She really really didn't want it done and was too big for me to hold still and do and she refused to let me reason with her or bribe her. It was negative.

IWanderedLonely · 14/04/2021 21:17

None and it will continue to be none.

Howmanysleepsnow · 14/04/2021 21:17

2 teens have just had 2x LFTs a week since returning to school.
DS9 has had an LFT because he was worried.
DS7 had a PCR in hospital (appendicitis)
DH- none
Me- 3 PCRs (2 with symptoms, 1 on advice of Zoe: all negative). I’m the only one in work (or school for DC!) throughout.

HelplessProcrastinator · 14/04/2021 21:22

Every two weeks as part of a research study for NHS staff. Never due to symptoms. One of my kids has tested twice due to symptoms but negative both times. Older DC doing LFTs for school. I work in a large teaching hospital and only 2 people I know have had COvID. Both mildly unwell.

Gingernaut · 14/04/2021 21:25

25 LFTs, 3 NHS swab tests and one antibody test.

tobee · 14/04/2021 21:26

1 each for 3 of us a few weeks ago as part of surge testing in our area. But Dh has had to do 1 a week for a while now at his clinic as an outpatient.

We are a shielding family. All have been negative.

MuchTooTired · 14/04/2021 21:26

I’ve done zero (have been hiding at home since just before the first lockdown) and dh has done 3 or 4 I think.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 14/04/2021 21:27

Me, none. Fairly sure I had covid last March but they weren't testing then. We had to self isolate last Nov as someone in dc1's primary class tested positive. At the time they weren't testing contacts.

Dh, one when he was admitted to hospital last week.
