Oh, I love New Adventures productions. I remember being blown away by the original production of Swan Lake with the male swans. I’m hoping to get to some ballet with DD soon, we both love it. I booked for Christmas last year but Tier 4 happened.

SloeSummer · 21/04/2021 18:39

Cru am I going mad or has this trailer used Sleeping Beauty music?

It looks great. Their Sleeping Beauty was one of the best experiences!

TabbyStar · 21/04/2021 19:38

It's Waltz of the Flowers, it is Nutcracker. but also Tchaikovsky. I've seen Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker a couple of times, always good.

Oh I feel a right plum. I thought it was from the dancing in the garden bit of Sleeping Beauty. D'oh.

Tchaikovsky tends to repeat themes with some variations. Also, they all get played everywhere so confusion is understandable.

I just listened to them one after the other and I forgive myself Grin

And from classical music to...rats. I apologise.

Didn't @MercyBooth post something about this? Just this week I've seen one near mum's and near mine, my sister has seen them in her area.

I realise rats are everywhere but this is the first time I've seen them casually strolling along residential roads. It's weird because I live near loads of takeaway shops but this is the first time I've seen them. The bins were overflowing by lunchtime in March/April 2020 "stay at home". Now, the bins seem to be emptied as usual but the rats are presumably short of food?

Or just thought they'd check out the burbs?

One of my neighbours asked what it's like to go into the City as I occasionally do...he said "is it freaky and just like, you and the pigeons?"

I don't know where he got that image. It is very quiet but I'm not expecting to be carried off by marauding pigeons just yet....

SloeSummer · 21/04/2021 22:22

It's okay, I've found it

The info, not another rat 😂

MercyBooth · 21/04/2021 22:58

Have a read of this.

Glad to see folk out and about again. After two days of urine blood tests, after first urine test was told sugar high, well it might have been the jam jar I supplied I suggested. So yesterday blood and more urine tests, nurse amused by jam jar tale. This morning the surgery rang with a prescription for me. Never got to see a GP just text messages. It's caneston pessary. Terrified here got to put in tonight. There's cobwebs up there a decade since it's seen a tampon let alone anything else. So my theory of a UTI was wrong. I blame the antibiotics I've had three times in twelve months 😫😫

amicissimma · 21/04/2021 23:14

Sloe, I went to London during first lockdown and went to Trafalgar Square to see what it was like. There were no cars, a couple of buses, one other couple and ... no pigeons.

Freaky. I suppose there were no tourists feeding them.

To be fair, tourists mostly don't feed pigeons anyway.

I can't believe my olds used to go there and they had little packets of bird seed, I think they bought them at the square?

Mercy, I looked at that expecting to see a link to Babylon health!

Oh dear...didn't they give you a container? I did lol at the jam jar though.

You could ask for an alternative to the pessary maybe.

@MercyBooth our GP uses that app and for MONTHS it's been showing this message.

Months.

Do you have an option to not use it? I have no idea what my GP app says though I know they have one.

110APiccadilly · 22/04/2021 10:49

I'm amazed at these GPs with apps. Mine hasn't really mastered how the postal service works yet. (Was once rung up for missing an appointment because they'd not sent the letter until the day before - second class and for a 9:30 appointment!)

That's a bit crap.

Today is a high anxiety day ☹️

ISaySteadyOn · 22/04/2021 12:11

Flowers I know what you mean. I am feeling anxious about going anywhere even though places are open. I don't know which public loos are open and that really holds me back not knowing if there are any available.

That's a major issue for a lot of us.

I think it's work stuff for me maybe...it's hard to pinpoint causes when your government are up to all sorts!

110APiccadilly · 22/04/2021 14:13

Is this any help?
www.lockdownloo.com/

I believe it's a crowd sourced map of open toilets.

WouldBeGood · 22/04/2021 14:32

I’m anxious as I don’t really want to do anything until it’s actually normal. So I’m not planning anything or going anywhere next week snd I’m scared it will never happen.

ISaySteadyOn · 22/04/2021 14:40

That's a bit me as well.

110APiccadilly · 22/04/2021 17:22

Saw this shared earlier, it really resonated with me:

Can you tell me if this sounds abusive? 😔

My friend's husband won’t let her visit any friends or family. He has made her stop all contact with them unless it’s on the phone or computer. He reads and censors her comments on social media.

He makes her feel like she's going crazy for thinking he’s controlling, and that she is being ungrateful. (After all, he’s only doing this because of how much he cares about her.)

He doesn’t want her going to the gym anymore, so she doesn’t go. He also doesn’t let her go to work anymore (he told her to only rely on him for income and that he will take care of her).

She's not really allowed to go out anymore, unless it’s for necessities, and when she does, he makes sure to have people guilt trip her about it and shame her for it.

He wants her to have this medical procedure done and tells her that if she does it, he will allow her more freedoms.

He constantly says he's only doing all of this because he cares... he is just doing it for her own good.

Oh wait....did I say husband? I meant the government.

My bad.

You have been conditioned to be outraged if another person did this to their spouse, but be passive & compliant when it comes to our government.
