You would think - they're bloody queuing, if they do it at the weekend I might go and talk to the people in the queue!

So much more birtuous and Covid Safe than queuing outsude Primark Wink

If you had a higher chance of public exposure (household has many connections, public facing jobs, public transport...) maybe... the way my life is at present, the chance of a misleading result far exceeds the actual chance of being infected.

Obviously Tim Spector is not worried. I’d rather listen to his calm voice of reason than all the government hyperbole.

Random question I can't find an answer to

Does anything have to close for Prince Philip's funeral? So many places hit hard by lockdown already.

amicissimma · 15/04/2021 15:52

It's one of those irregular verbs things, isn't it?

I am only doing what I need to.

You are pushing things a bit but no doubt you're being careful.

She is selfishly disregarding the safety of others.

Brings back painful memories of a more successful day of home learning in lockdown #1, so probably about the 24th March Grin DS1 was actually doing some English work and had some tedious comprehension task which stirred memories of being a similar age in thinking "who cares?" in answer to what a character was doing/ thinking. Sometimes we are a bit too much alike for our own good Grin

Jesus someone Over There saying we still need/could go for zero Covid and talking about how there WILL be an appetite for it after Lockdowns 4 and 5.

ISaySteadyOn · 15/04/2021 18:41

☹️ why do people love lockdowns so much? I don't understand.

This is a bit long (28 mins) but wow! So interesting and makes so much sense.
It’s a video from a doctor in Idaho stating that he just wants to share real science, no political agenda and no comment on current policies, just the bare scientific facts about human biology. What he says about vitamin D and who is more likely to be susceptible to any virus, cov19 or otherwise, just makes so much sense and follows exactly what has happened across the entire world. It’s also really interesting to consider what he says for your own future health and well-being, I’m most certainly going to look into taking vitamin supplements during the winter months in the future.

It’s also quite interesting to note that any reference to a Vitamin D link has been vastly underplayed and now we know why, because it virtually explains away the “pandemic”

Lostinacloud · 15/04/2021 19:37

I’m not sure of the rules in the UK or Europe or any other country but in America, according to this doctor, if there is a treatment for a disease available then by law the federal government cannot approve the licensing of a vaccine. It’s quite unbelievable. Where’s the impetus to find a treatment when your big pharma mates are whispering in your ear? Maybe this is why doctors trying to talk about the use of ivermectin are quickly discredited and the WHO won’t allow it to be considered despite it seeming to be an overwhelmingly successful treatment against the covid illness.

AcornAutumn · 15/04/2021 19:42

Lost indeed.

Think how many people were told to wait till their lips went blue when many doctors would have tried HCQ, AZT, steroid inhalers.

I might NC to BrokenRecord. Grin

AcornAutumn · 15/04/2021 20:09

This is interesting

Not sure government will admit false positives

It’s all slowly unravelling perhaps? How long can they paper over the ever increasing cracks? Not much longer I hope!

As long as people encourage it, they'll go along with it

Look at this

www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/uk-coronavirus-latest-covid-live-london-surge-testing-b929733.html

I think the court case next week will have a nasty result. Either all outdoor hospitality will be closed, or closed in London. But the 17th May will be a big casualty.

I dread it but at some point, I knew they'd run an experiment in London. I'm trying to quickly sort some stuff for mum under Power Of Attorney but actually under Stay At Home you can still travel for essential legal and financial stuff, I think?

My sister thought I was a nutter last year but now she is also expecting Stay At Home to be imposed on London next week. It would presumably stop the protest on the 24th too.

MercyBooth · 15/04/2021 20:33

@AcornAutumn that is shit Flowers
They will probably try to blame it on the young people who were out in Soho on Monday night, whether it makes sense or not.

Lostinacloud · 15/04/2021 20:35

I am trying to ignore all this surge testing crap because I just don’t want to acknowledge that it’s still not ending. I couldn’t believe it when I saw news of ‘local’ restrictions and realised that is how they will get round their no more lockdown promise Sad

MercyBooth · 15/04/2021 20:36

I'm sure there were people of all ages

That other thread on the C board...i'm more convinced than ever that a couple of friends who wouldn't meet in summer, it's because I use public transport. The concept of "human as biohazard" has gone very far and very deep.

Deja vu all over again. My cousins up north were stuck in local lockdown all year. I told them to come to london as soon as stay at home was lifted - they want to see mum, she can't get on a train - but they are waiting till 17th May and still think I'm a conspiracy theorist when I point out things that are in plain sight.
MercyBooth · 15/04/2021 20:40

YY @AcornAutumn We are no longer human. We are now bio hazards/ATM machines.

Stuffin · 15/04/2021 21:14

The problem is you have people that are terrified and cannot make rational risk assessments in positions of influence.

I think this is why there is still appetite for lockdowns and viewing everyone as germ spreading killing machines.

People in power know there's nothing to worry about.
