He was only 54, I loved him in Friday Night Dinner.

So sad. I loved him in so many things. Such a young age too.

So sad - such a great actor.

Such a sad loss

A genuinely tragic loss. He was a marvel in everything but fabulous in Friday Night Dinner. May he be having a lovely time in the big shed in the sky with his top off because I hear it’s absolutely boiling. Goodnight, bambino.

This has really upset me. I was never a huge fan of Friday night dinner but when I did watch it it was just for him as he was hilarious. He was so young too. Just awful

He was one of my favourites, so versatile, could be hilarious and moving and everything in between. Feel cheated of everything he could have done in the future .

Very sad news. We love FND! It brought us so much laughter over the years. It’s been a great tonic to rewatch during lockdown. ‘Shit on it!’ and ‘A lovely piece of squirrel’, will always live on in our household.

What an incredible loss. He was a superbe actor who was able for so many diverse roles. Utterly brilliant comedic actor and unrecognisable as this in more serious roles. (Such a Resistance.)

Did anyone watch Paul Ritter in the docudrama about the making of Dad’s Army , he played one of writers and he was great . It’s well worth watching if it’s on IPlayer
