OMG No! so Sad He was so funny in Friday Night Dinner but also in other programmes.

TheCraicDealer · 06/04/2021 12:25

We discovered FND last year and it was one of the last programs we sat and enjoyed as a family before DFIL passed away in October. I always said that the family dynamic in the show was very like my in-laws, and I can't believe 'Martin' has now gone like my wonderful FIL.

RIP Paul.

FuckyouCovid21 · 06/04/2021 12:25

Oh no! Absolutely loved him in No Offence

CleverCatty · 06/04/2021 12:26

Just heard the news. So sad. Still a young age to pass. 😞

PurplePeopleEater76 · 06/04/2021 12:31

I just saw this. I’ve never seen Friday Night Dinner, but I recognise him from other stuff.
Sad, 54 is no age.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/04/2021 12:32

Oh my word - how very sad.

Such a wonderful actor, and to all accounts a wonderful man, too.

myknightinshiningwhatever · 06/04/2021 12:32

soditall56 · 06/04/2021 12:32

So sad. Loved him in LND, brilliant actor

Winecheesesleep · 06/04/2021 12:33

This is so sad. I loved him in Friday Night Dinner which is one of my favourite sitcoms. He was brilliant in Chernobyl too. Far too young.

viques · 06/04/2021 12:33

Poor man, his poor family, a bastard illness.

I hope they are a little comforted by the overwhelming sadness and deep respect that his death has unleashed.

Whatisupwithme · 06/04/2021 12:39

Oh no. I hear him in so many dramas on radio as well as FND. So sad.

Dentistlakes · 06/04/2021 12:43

I am absolutely heartbroken by this!!! He was so talented, great great actor. 54 is absolutely no age to go. Absolutely feel for his family.

RIP Paul x

TheFairyCaravan · 06/04/2021 12:50

It’s so, so sad. 54 is absolutely no age 😢

Effsee · 06/04/2021 12:51

I was really sad to hear this earlier. He was hilarious in Friday Night Dinner.
Think I'll watch them again very soon. His character made me giggle so much ❤

KateBlush · 06/04/2021 12:52

Feel so unbelievably sad about this - FND is one of the very few programmes we all watch together in our house and we unanimously adore Paul's character Martin. Awful news.

gabsdot45 · 06/04/2021 12:53

That's so sad. I love FND.
I'm glad the last season ended so nicely

Thistimelastyear · 06/04/2021 12:53

It's very sad, thinking of his family. Absolutely love FND - Martin was a legend.

blackbettybramblejam · 06/04/2021 12:54

So sad 😭 I loved him so much.

Gertie75 · 06/04/2021 12:56

Gutted, he was hilarious in FND, I hoped they'd do another series, it would have been brilliant to see how it developed now the boys have their Lucy's.
Nippy nippy.

Noooooogsh · 06/04/2021 12:57

I remember watching the very first episode of Friday night dinner with my dad and the two of us crying with laughter, it’s been a firm favourite ever since. When I moved out we’d save them up to watch when I came back.
Martin was always the best, he just seemed like such a typical weird dad Grin

MrsMackesy · 06/04/2021 12:57

My teen DC and I have spent many a happy half hour together bonding over FND. I didn't think it would be my thing, but soon changed my mind. Paul was perfect in it and as the pathologist in Vera. Such a versatile and talented actor - many TV and film credits to his name and a Tony and Olivier nomination on the stage. Condolences to his family and friends.
