I’ve had a grand total of sixty minutes sleep and I’m now wide awake. Anyone else still up? No doubt I’ll be starting to fall asleep as the dc wake up.

Hi! I wake up at 1am every morning, as if there's an alarm clock in my head. I sometimes manage to get back to sleep at 5. Up at 7. I'm generally exhausted.

Iloveadrianmole · 25/03/2021 04:33

I’ve been away since 1, my insomnia is getting worse and worse during lockdown. It doesn’t help working from home and being stuck indoors most of the day. Currently contemplating cereal and tea and then trying for a couple more hours..........

IwishIwasontheN17 · 25/03/2021 04:35

Up with youngest DD, who is now 2 and hasn’t slept through a night since birth. DH has been up with her since 3 and he has given up. I’ve gotten up with her. I can’t remember what sleeping at night feels like.
@PhilCornwall1 so sorry to hear pain keeps you awake, it’s hellish.
I buy smaller cartons of milk as I find them easy to manage and the dc make less mess with them. Is that something that might work for you?
Two pint ones are usually ok for me. We had to stop having the 4 pint ones as I was having a problem with those. With two hungry and thirsty teens we go through loads of milk.

For some reason today, my hands are pretty bad. It's usually my shoulders and knees, but it's generally random on where it affects.

At least the kitchen floor is beyond sanitised now. That's twice in 24 hours it's had a major clean. 😊

@ismiseeire

Yes, new Mothers get 40 days rest after having a baby. You also get a rest when on your period too. I'm past 40 days though. Little one is 9 weeks and soon no more a newborn. I call a newborn 0 to 3m. Don't know if others do lol.
And yes, you have to wake up for morning prayers. I set my alarm and then wake the eldest two as they're old enough to pray now and in a routine of doing it too. But we go back to sleep after as its still very early!

PopsicleHustler · 25/03/2021 07:13

I am even thinking of number 6, so clearly I am ready for the nuthouse lol.
You know what I love children and I came from an abusive family and always aid I want to give my children the best life. I never dreamt I would marry and have so many children. And I met my man and he takes such good of us all and is very supportive. We both work and I enjoy being a Mum.

PopsicleHustler · 25/03/2021 07:14

Credit to everyone no matter how many children you have. It's a tough job but also has its lovely times when they're not bickering over lego and Ben 10 lol

Absolutelyscunnered · 26/03/2021 01:03

Awake yet again. Really need to try and get in sync with a normal bedtime routine. How is everyone else doing?

I suspect it was designed for a different time zone lol where it wasn't the middle of the night, rather the morning? Could you adapt it to first thing in the morning? I would hate to wake a child for any reason. I'm not religious though, so maybe you need to do it at particular times.

bloodywhitecat · 26/03/2021 01:13

Wide awake here, anxiety is adding to my insomnia so I am watching crap TV and browsing here in an effort to keep the anxiety at bay. DP is sound asleep which is ironic really because he is the one who is really going through the wringer, not me but his body's response is to sleep and my body seems to want to not sleep. He had chemo today and came home tired, he has a phone call with his oncologist later today and he is expecting to hear those words again "I have no good news for you...". I fucking hate this.

VettiyaIruken · 26/03/2021 01:15

Wide awake yet again. I really don't know how much more I can take before I go batcrap crazy tbh.

VettiyaIruken · 26/03/2021 01:16

Flowers so sorry, bloodywhitecat

I remember you from your first thread where the hospital kept sending you home. I had a different username, but I was one who was encouraging you to make sure he was seen. I suggested he had a scan in A&E, but I believe he was referred back to GP and then 2 week referral system? Bloody awful.

For me? You actually couldn't make this up. So, I'm in a lot of pain for which they can find no cause. I'm on three different painkillers. I rang 111 at 11pm and woke up at 12.15am with police and paramedics in my room! In my bedroom! After I had come to some sort of comprehension of what was going on I was like 'How the hell did you get in here?' The paramedic lady said that the police climbed up a ladder and entered my balcony doors! I'm still in utter agony but avoiding calling 111 if I can as I really don't want to go into hospital. They can't find what is wrong with me. When the crew were here earlier this evening, every time they put the blood pressure cuff on me, my arm flapped like a seal! Like some sort of twitch. I can't speak to my GP as you can't get through and you certainly can't see one as they are all working from home. It's like a bloody bus driver working from home!

So sorry to hear @bloodywhitecat 💐

Sunbird24 · 26/03/2021 02:03

I’m here again too. Can’t regulate my body temperature at all and need my feet to cool down.

@bloodywhitecat I’m raging for you! Hope the news from oncologist is positive.

@ismiseeire that sounds awful! I had a ruptured ovarian cyst with my last miscarriage and ended up with 2 firemen and 2 paramedics in my bedroom, but at least I was awake when they arrived. A&E were no use so I get why you don’t want to go to hospital, I’d had so much pain relief in the ambulance on the way there and during the wait outside to get in that it stopped hurting not long after they admitted me, so they sent me home again without doing any tests or anything. By the time I got home again it had worn off but there was no way I was going back. Does any of the pain management meditation help?

OysterMonkey · 26/03/2021 02:12

👋🏻 Here again too

Absolutelyscunnered · 26/03/2021 02:24

@Sunbird24 this might sound silly but rather than a hot water bottle what about one with cold water in it to help cool your feet down. Or an ice pack wrapped up in a towel so you don’t get ice burn

@OysterMonkey sucks to be here again doesn’t it. Although it helps a little to know I’m not alone, DH snoring away just adds salt to the wound.

Hello all. I hope you are ok. I had the covid jab this/yesterday morning, and now have muscle aches and a headache, plus feel cold, and can’t get to sleep. I also damaged my back last week, and it is too painful to get out of bed to find the paracetamol (yes, I should have got it ready earlier 🙄).

But I don’t think I feel anywhere near as bad as some people have done, so I’m quite lucky. And it’s nothing compared to bloodywhitecat’s husband. All the best to you both. 💐

I have some hugely important meetings at work today, plus a farewell event, so couldn’t have picked a worse day to feel bad. Fingers crossed I can still work (from home).

Hope you can all find sleep soon. x

The pain medication works most of the time, but not today. I'm getting strange sensations, like my arms and back of my neck going numb. A doctor friend has suggested probably a lack of calcium which might require a drip. Of course, that would require one needle to take blood and then about 5 attempts to get a cannula in, so I'm terrified of A&E. They also will not do what I ask them to do, so only when they have done their own thing and it hasn't worked, will they try what I suggested.
saracorona · 26/03/2021 02:27

Hmm wide awake, slept two hours, hopefully back to bed by five for another two hours. If not it's going to be a long day.

OysterMonkey · 26/03/2021 02:28

Yes, it is strangely comforting to know it’s not just me. Though you all have my utmost sympathy, of course, and wishes for sleep soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I miss having a job, but there is no way that I would show up when I was ill. You're a trouper! Take your paracetamol every 4 hours and I hope that you're fine.

Another night shift 1 more 2 go. 3 12 1/2 is a killer

RaskolnikovsGarret · 26/03/2021 02:32

Thanks, ismiseeire! I am sure my employer will cope without me ☺️ (I’m not very important).
