I’ve had a grand total of sixty minutes sleep and I’m now wide awake. Anyone else still up? No doubt I’ll be starting to fall asleep as the dc wake up.

Awake since 2am here. It's usually 3am when I have to get up for painkillers, but the body decides an hour early today.

The icing on the cake? After making a nice fresh coffee, I dropped a 2 pint carton of milk on the floor!!! Still some milk left for the youngests breakfast and some coffee, but an emergency shop trip required. Not fun cleaning that up at this time of the morning!!! Damn you arthritic hands!!!!! 😊

@PhilCornwall1 so sorry to hear pain keeps you awake, it’s hellish.
I buy smaller cartons of milk as I find them easy to manage and the dc make less mess with them. Is that something that might work for you?

Oh no, that’s a bummer Phil.

BasiliskStare · 25/03/2021 03:17

@MysweetAudrina Gosh - do you think a weighted blanket makes for more vivid dreams - so I am up now but by and large weighted blanket has helped better sleep but re dreams - ha ha - the other night I was having to take my finals at university & had not attended one lecture and had no notes & exam was tomorrow. It was rather nice to wake up & realise it was not true. Grin

Room for another. Not unusual for me to be honest and 25 weeks pregnant so hope it comes in handy when the night feeds start happening etc.

Hi there, I really don't want to be in this club as nice as I am sure you all are!

I am itching.
All over.
I could scream, it's horrid.

I am going to lie down now and hope I go back to the rather enjoyable dream I woke from.
😊🌲🌳☘️🌿🌱🥀💐🌛🌝🌜

Absolutelyscunnered · 25/03/2021 03:30

@IamEarthymama you’re not expecting are you? If so, you might consider contacting your midwife/maternity hospital as it can indicate an issue with your liver.

Oh no, I was hoping I’d be able to get more sleep in as I went along! 😭 I guess I’ll be used to it by the time I have someone else waking me up then...

I've just taken my night time meds now as someone mentioned Restless Legs Syndrome and reminded me. The. bane. of. my. life. I'm on a new medication called Ropinirole as Pramipexole stopped working.

@vodkaredbullgirl do you get really hungry around the 3/4am mark on night shift. Night shift work plays havoc with my appetite.

For skin itch, especially during pregnancy, I used cocoa butter (from the pound shop - some pound shops still stock tubs of it from time to time). I slathered it on bump, breasts, wherever I felt expanding and itching. If I itched during the night, I'd just rub more on.
If you can't get the cheap cocoa butter, there is always stock of a brand called Palmers in supermarkets.

Morning! Early bird catches the worm! Birds are tweeting away here. Enjoy your brekkie!
Travelledtheworld · 25/03/2021 03:43

@ismiseeire cheers !
It's been even worse over lockdown. Having been addicted to sleeping tablets I just sort of grit my teeth and get on with life. Have a nap early afternoon when I can.

PopsicleHustler · 25/03/2021 03:45

I am wide awake as my newborn baby girl woke up about an hour ago. I fed her and changed her and then picked up some things off the floor that were annoying me. Can't stand mess. I've put her down for another feed and listen to rainfall on YouTube that usually does the trick.
But now I am wide awake. Will probably go back to sleep after half 4. As its morning prayers shortly (I am Muslim :)! )

Absolutelyscunnered · 25/03/2021 03:47

@PopsicleHustler hope you mange for her some rest after your morning prayers. Congratulations on the birth of your DC 💐

Thank you so much. Its baby number 5, so I don't actually know what sleep is these days lol, or for the past 13 years for that matter!

I feel your pain although I stopped at 3 so hats off to you!
CandyLeBonBon · 25/03/2021 03:50

However I have just put the final piece of a puzzle into place mentally, for a creative project I'm working on - a brilliant idea just came to me so I've written it down before I forget it!

ismiseeire · 25/03/2021 03:54

Fascinating. What time are morning prayers? Do you have to get up if you're asleep? Are you not exempt when a new mother?

Baby number 5 is pretty impressive. I'd be in the nuthouse. I realised after 1 that I was not cut out for motherhood.
