Dead Bloom & Wild Flowers

Anyone else received an awful box of flowers from Bloom & Wild today?

I've had their flowers before but this time they are crushed, broken and going brown. I've actually cried, which is silly but what should have been something to make me smile looks like is needs to go in the bin.

As I said, I've had their flowers before but these are not going to perk up!

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda

It turns out I’ve ordered the same thing *@Calyx72*. Raging
I have messaged them but customer service is shut till Monday. Won't be using them again. They were great at first. I hope yours is better than my Mum's Ballad Thanks

Also pleased with Arena, I received a subscription as a gift so always take a photo to send to the person that bought me it. Currently I have two lots as my flowers from a fortnight ago are still going!

I sent my mum some for Mother's Day; they arrived today and she says they're lovely 😊

The flowers I sent my mum from B and W are beautiful and the ones I’ve had on subscription are too. I’ve only had one bed bunch and that was Xmas when one stem was broken, I asked for a replacement stem (was one of three calla lilies) and they don’t do that but sent me a partial refund.

Scarby9 · 13/03/2021 22:38

I have never sent anyone letterbox flowers from Bloom and Wild that weren't excellent. I send my mum them monthly and she loves them. They always last over a fortnight.
You have been iunlucky and I am sure they will put it right.

Viviennemary · 13/03/2021 22:45

My first box were very limp and wilting. Bug nog brown. I put them in water and a few hours later they were great. And lasted ages. Complain.

Viviennemary · 13/03/2021 22:46

But not. Fgs

MrsAmaretto · 13/03/2021 22:57

The brown things in the middle photo are meant to be like daisies

From the website. Not worth £32. I could pick the roses up in Tesco for £5.

Take a photo and send it to them. Their customer service is second to none: you'll have a gorgeous bouquet with 24h and if there are further issues they'll refund and send a gift. I think B and W are one of the best companies I've ever dealt with.

ODFOx · 13/03/2021 23:14

They do arrive in bud. Is that the issue? Have you followed the instructions and waited 24 hours? Or have they been delayed in the post/with the courier depending on which service requested?

ImAncient · 13/03/2021 23:25

I love bloom and wild - I’ve only had one dud bunch from them & that was when it was hot & not home. We have gates, & postman put on top of letterbox.

Crookairroad · 13/03/2021 23:29

@bestbefore

My M&S order for my mum for tomorrow still says 'awaiting dispatch' Confused
I sent flowers last weekend from marks and spencer and tracking didn’t come through until the morning of the delivery day.
Neolara · 13/03/2021 23:30

OP - I had that bunch from B &W. It was very beautiful. The flowers you said are meant to be like daies, I don't think are meant to be at all like daisies. The buds don't open..

Bimblybomeyelash · 13/03/2021 23:47

I have had that bunch too, and i was really
Pleased with it after a day in water.

I ordered some other bunches for both DM and GM which arrived yesterday and looked great in the photos that they sent.

MrsAmaretto · 14/03/2021 00:25

@Neolara this is what the should look like. I get about 8 B&W boxes a year. I know what “normal” before water looks like.

I received some in Feb that were not in good condition but they were a day late due to the snow, so I assumed they’d been damaged due to the temp. My foliage this time is dead, I have stems that are broken, buds are damaged on my Alstromeria, my snap dragons have crushed so are unnaturally droopy. My 6 roses have had the guard petals removed but the petals are still brown tinged at the edges. It’s not good enough for either £32 or for Mother’s Day.

I had some last week that were stunning. Not had a bad bunch yet.

MadisonAvenue · 14/03/2021 02:11

@StocksAndScares

Try Freddie's Flowers. I've never had a bad bunch from them.
In my personal experience Freddie’s have really gone downhill. Not sure if it’s because they’ve now become much bigger or if it’s down to the courier service they now use (DPD) but what I’ve received over the past year or two has been disappointing and I’d never use them for gifts. I’ve probably only had six or seven boxes in that time but they’ve mostly been replacement boxes or discounted due to sending photos of what I’ve received. Dead stems, damaged stems, dry and brittle foliage, flowers in bud which fail to open...I’m finding that a £10 bunch from Tesco lasts much longer and proves to be better quality.
Izzy24 · 14/03/2021 04:08

Have used/received B&W, Freddie’s and Bunches. All excellent. I always cut a good bit off the stems before putting them in water.

M&S not good - tulips ordered but daffodils arrived and barely lasted 3 days . Replacement tulips arrived without flower food and tips of leaves broken because bunch all scrumbled up in box.

ElderMillennial · 14/03/2021 07:31

They don't look too bad OP. They are obviously more expensive than Tesco £5 flowers. I think you need to get them in water and give them a chance.

Areyouboredyet · 14/03/2021 10:33

We received a box after mil died and they were all dead. We tried to a save the ones whose heads were still attached to the stem. The sender complained and another box arrived but they were the same. I will never use them

missbridgerton · 14/03/2021 10:59

My Mum is a florist. Wholesale prices go through the roof when international womens day and mothers day are so close together as the majority of flowers come via Holland and IWD is huge in Europe.

Online companies like this don't employ florists, they are designed by one, expensive photographs get taken and they are put together in boxes in a warehouse to instructions. Clearing houses like Interflora, eFlorist etc take at least 33% of the cost for a handling fee. International deliveries are the worst, where they take around 50% .

Please use a local florist - they're much better value, especially at peak trading.

CorianderBee · 14/03/2021 11:08

Oh no, I've ordered some for my mum today! Hope they're ok

SmidgenofaPigeon · 14/03/2021 11:08

I contacted the florist who did my wedding flowers this year, as obviously she’s having a quiet time due to covid. This is what she came up with for £30, delivered locally, £30 is what I would have spent on Bloom and Wild so I’m pretty happy. I think with B&W it’s the ease of it, a few taps on an app and voila, but I am definitely questioning if it’s worth it.

Appleyard is always good but pretty pricey
