What do you want for mothers day?

Whether an actual gift or the gift of peace and quiet lol
I'm not one for gifts. I'm happy with a bunch of flowers.
A friend of mine expects and would be quite arsey about not getting what she wants. Her dc are of an age where her dh has to buy. She's got a huge list.
I then think I'm boring for just enjoying a nice bunch of flowers or something along with a lie in

This year I have ordered a box of cupcakes as my friend makes them. But tbh it's mainly just for an after dinner treat for all of us.

Do you have any special requests or wishes

The very first reply would do me 🙂

A few hours alone in the house with all the phones switched off and doorbell disconnected.

Redskyyy · 08/03/2021 10:35

A lie in and a card. A cup of tea in bed and some sort of edible treats would make for a great day.

Thesagacontinues · 08/03/2021 10:39

I dont want expensive gifts, but I would like a bit of appreciation and an acknowlegement of how hard this last year has been being a mother Grin

Silence in a dark room for 24 hours

ChameleonClara · 08/03/2021 11:04

@Ocsetldil

Brexit to be cancelled and we rejoin the EU. And this government to rot in a dungeon of filth.
I'd like this plus my usual mother's Day treat of some nice baked goods made by my DH, please.
Ocsetldil · 08/03/2021 11:21

Obviously I want the cake as well!!

Jakadaal · 08/03/2021 11:24

I want to hug my mum. She is 89 and although I see her every week I have only hugged her once in a year and that was the day of my dad's funeral in April. Once we have had our vaccines it will be the longest hug in history!

Larryslockdownlunch · 08/03/2021 11:33

I asked for a box of donuts. I can't imagine I'll get them.

supersonicginandtonic · 08/03/2021 11:34

A lie in and a trip to the toilet in peace, would be nice.
Also a bath on my own!

Amrythings · 08/03/2021 11:47

Given how horrendous it was last year (bad family news, not anything anyone did), I'll be perfectly happy with just DH getting up and doing the morning shift with the wee man instead of me.

Whether that will be acceptable to the small tyrant, on the other hand...

katienana · 08/03/2021 12:11

I've asked for a particular perfume, it's a nice summery fragrance. Dh has organised and paid for it as my.kids are 8 and 4. I'd love a handmade card to go with it. I think my 8 year old will probably offer me a foot rub, he is genuinely good at it and does it often! (I am spoilt but so are they).
Definitely don't want to cook so I'll remind dh of that fact in a couple of days.

lachy · 08/03/2021 13:27

I don't want anything other than a cup of coffee, a cuddle and a glittery, unicorn/mermaid, hand made card from DD.

I'd love to be able to see my mum, but hopefully I'll only have to wait another few weeks.

AlexaPlayWhiteNoise · 08/03/2021 14:05

I am so, sorry for those who have lost their Mums and would give anything to be with them Flowers

I would like a positive pregnancy test. And a cuddle off my eldest boy. I would really like to be about to meet my ds2, but he's gone.

SingingSands · 08/03/2021 14:17

It's my DS's 13th birthday on Mother's Day, which is eclipsing everything else so I'm not expecting anything other than a card, which I'm hoping DD will remember to do!

I'm half tempted to book the next day off work to get a day of peace and quiet to myself whilst they are at school/college Grin

MrsS92 · 08/03/2021 14:23

I would love a card made by my daughters and a bunch of flowers .
Last year my husband got me a card from the local shop that had been handmade by someone in the village, on the thinnest card so it wouldn’t even stand up and wonky diamonte strips. I was not amused Blush

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/03/2021 14:25

A massage
And if I'm wishing I wish to go back to my pre baby weight, or even better my pre baby weight minus an extra stone! Won't happen because I'm a greedy fucker.

Yellow85 · 08/03/2021 14:27

A lie in, a bath and a card for DCs

RatherLostPenguins · 08/03/2021 14:59

I'm happy with flowers and to not do any chores. DH and DC do a lot around the house anyway but I usually cook and do most of the laundry and some washing up so a day with none of that is perfect for me. Preferably with them all working together to cook dinner instead of just ordering a takeaway too.

LadyofMisrule · 08/03/2021 16:54

What @Ocsetldil said.

TokyoSushi · 08/03/2021 16:56

A lie-in
A homemade card
A really nice takeaway
A chocolate orange

JosephineBaker · 08/03/2021 17:07

Daffs, a card and a nice breakfast I don't have to make myself. That's all.

Flambola · 08/03/2021 17:08

I love handmade cards/gifts from my daughter. I don’t usually go in for it tbh as one of my children isn’t here with me so always end up feeling a bit morose.

I have actually asked for some slippers, DD will enjoy picking some out I’m sure!

Libmama · 08/03/2021 17:09

A lie in! With a cup of tea and an almond croissant 🥐

user1471538283 · 08/03/2021 17:25

Like others Brexit to be cancelled.

Most years my DS takes me out for breakfast and then the cinema later which is fantastic! Last year he made me breakfast and bought me flowers. This year it will be breakfast and afternoon tea. And time. Time with my lovely grown up child.

mowglika · 08/03/2021 17:34

A lie in, breakfast in bed, card from DC and flowers and hopefully some gardening tools from DH
