The latest royal family drama

It's like a TV show. How embarrassing!

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/royal-aides-reveal-meghan-bullying-claim-before-oprah-interview-7sxfvd2c3

The latest is that Meghan is accused of bullying staff. Harry and Meghan then responded that Buckingham Palace was using the Times to peddle false stories/a smear campaign. So presumably the "leak" comes from Buckingham Palace/the Queen.

It's all so childish. Why can't they all just be grateful for the extremely cushy life that they have!

I'll be watching the Oprah interview. I think the royals never come across well in these kind of things. Like Andrew's awful interview...he's just so out of touch with reality. And I think that's a characteristic that Harry unfortunately shares with him.

Someone worked hard on those weasel words.

Serenster · 03/03/2021 21:29

One of the differences between The Times and the Mail. The Times clearly gave the Sussexes considerable advance notice of their story, as the couple's responses were from their lawyers, not their "representatives" or "sources close to the couple". They also published the lawyers' responses in full in each article. And still they published - they are very confident that their story holds up.

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 03/03/2021 21:35

The Times are 100% confident of the accuracy of their story and neither the Palace nor Meghan has denied it. I do wonder if The Times plans to run with more on this.

Or...they're just really patriotic Brits who got the memo we're going all in on this one.

Madly riding this nuke down to glory.

The couples lawyers would have said considerably more than they did if they had been able to deny the report, PicsinRed.

PretendSpeedGun · 03/03/2021 21:39

I think this is why the glum faces in the Range Rover on Sunday- I bet they were coming back from their lawyers after being hit with the advance copy of this story asking for their response

Mummy195 · 03/03/2021 21:41

Everyone wrote in lawyer speak. So that no one gets sued in the end.

That’s not how it works. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I will say this again - everybody IS outraged by Andrew, hence not much to debate. The reason we're wittering on about 'this nonsense' is because there are differing opinions.
Maybe if every poster here from now on could begin their post with a quick caveat - I too Believe Andrew Is A Dodgy Wanker before saying anything else about anybody else?

Then we can dispense with the BUT ANDREW posts.

Considering the length of time they have been in the States, they generally seem to have stayed out of the paps way and, considering the company the pictures were sold through, it was very likely to be a set up. It’s a pandemic. The photographers don’t just lurk on street corners photographing cars in the hope of getting something worth selling. They wanted the glum face pictures seen.

Half the posters wouldn’t have anything to write about then. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How about everyone writes about Andrew instead. Repeating over and over how disappointed they are in him, you know, just like they do with H&M. Come up with all sorts of convoluted reasons of why he did what he did.

Meredithgrey1 · 03/03/2021 21:48

In any event, even if it is true it doesn't mean that suddenly the behaviour towards her for the last however many years is suddenly okay.

That works both ways. Any amount of bullying in the press does not make bullying by her ok (if true of course).

Or.perhaps they're saying their piece on Monday so won't waste their breath on this panicked guff.

I'm not sure many British people appreciate how certifiably insane this all looks from abroad and how clear it is to those abroad that this is a load of racist baloney. No one's buying it.

Laiste · 03/03/2021 21:51

There is an awful lot to be said for just taking your large amount of money and living a quiet life out of the public eye. Playing games with the media never goes well.

This is very true. You'd think Harry would be well aware of it too. Re: Diana.

When he did his tv interview they did. That's a bit old now but H&M doing their tv interview is news.

Everyone 'abroad' thinks exactly the same way, of course. No differences or individuality.

I think there's a word for that kind of assumption. Can anyone help me out...?

One already exists on the RF talk. With a lot of ppl defending him. I actually posted when he tried to wiggle his way in with PPE free cupcake making. But apparently his actions are less significant than H&M for some reason.

He has done a few wiggle ins since then, but the media has kept it all under the radar. shhhhh

Ok, some people abroad think she's a crafty little minx with Harry betwixt her witchcraft... most look on what's happening in the UK right now like "what the fuck's up with that lot?".

Why does anyone here think this is normal? Madness it is. Collective madness.

fluffy71 · 03/03/2021 22:17

@TheKeatingFive Harry and Meghan haven’t had their HRH away, they’ve just agreed not to use them I understand

Roussette · 03/03/2021 22:20

Yes to collective madness. So much so. My american friends think the country has lost the plot, they love M&H.
