When did you start finding greys?

I'm early 30s and starting to notice the odd grey strand, luckily mostly not obvious yet because it's underneath my still dark hair but I feel like I shouldn't be going grey yet! Tbh I feel like I've aged fifty years over the past one. I just want to go to the hairdresser's. :(

Late teens, not even grey it was sparkling white!
Now I'm 38 and my hair is probably 50% white with it pretty evenly spread all over and my roots are looking horrendous thanks to lockdown

Tankflybosswalkjam · 25/02/2021 12:28

In juniors. It’s white now pretty much. I’m 50.

My 10 year old had a couple of greys from being about 6.

unmarkedbythat · 25/02/2021 12:32

Aged 33, coming up to the end of pregnancy with my third child. Made such a weird yelp when I spotted them in the staff toilet mirror that a colleague came and asked if I was going into labour Grin

I actually like my greys but not the way they clump. If they were evenly distributed or I was mostly grey I'd be delighted with it, they're gorgeous, but I am not ready to go full Cruella with a big white streak just yet!

  1. I have dark hair but neither of my parents were grey until well into their forties.
NuniaBeeswax · 25/02/2021 12:35

I've been going grey since my early teens. Stopped dying it two years ago.

iceicesunsun · 25/02/2021 12:36

Early 50s

Mummaofboys93 · 25/02/2021 12:43

Think I noticed my first at 26? I'm now 27, nearing 28 & maybe have found about 3 or 4 since. The first time I saw one my heart sank & I pulled it out 😂

Not sure how true it is but I was told look at your parents. As when you go grey is quite a lot to do with genetics. Which I hope for my sake isn't true 😂 My mum I want to say had she not died her hair would have been fully grey by about 37?! I always remember her roots looking awful! My dad is 55 & is mostly grey now but not completely there's still a bit of his black haor left although his beard is completely grey. My brother is 24 & I spotted 2 grey hairs on him not to long ago.

Late 20s. Im now 41, stopped colouring my hair about 5 years ago now and its about 95% grey.

Lampan · 25/02/2021 12:51

Late 20s probably. My sister had way more even younger than me. But grey hair is the easiest sign of aging to do something about. I’d much rather have grey hair than prematurely aged skin etc

PurpleRainDancer · 25/02/2021 12:52

14 (not a typo)

LemmysAceCard · 25/02/2021 12:58

40 when the odd one started coming through, a few years later its about 15% grey and the rest natural colour but i have noticed that i have more and more coming through

RatherLostPenguins · 25/02/2021 13:11

Early 20s. Now in my late 30s and thanks to lockdown I've realised how much grey I truly have now, I imagine I'll be fully grey by the time I reach 50.

elp30 · 25/02/2021 13:11

18 and by 44, I accepted that I have 90% white (not grey) hair and gave up coloring for good.

PickAChew · 25/02/2021 13:13

When I was 17. Hair still more dark than grey, in my 50s.

stopringingme · 25/02/2021 13:16

26- the same year I married DH !

Crinkle77 · 25/02/2021 13:22

I was late 30's nearly 40 but it was only 1 or 2. I'm 43 now and still only have a handful. Perhaps I have more but just can't see them 😁

Kollin · 25/02/2021 13:26

I'm 38 and not had a one, ever.
DM is 70 and only went grey when her hair grew back after chemo, about 8 years ago. I think she only had the odd one before that.

amusedbush · 25/02/2021 13:26

I'm 30 with dark brown hair but I don't have any yet. I asked my hairdresser if he could see any back in November and he said no.

My mum has very, very dark hair and only got a few wispy white hairs around her temples when she was in her late 40s. She is 55 now and still only has those few.

Regularsizedrudy · 25/02/2021 13:28

23 first few, consistently at about 27

BammBamm · 25/02/2021 13:29

36 I would say 5% of my hair is grey. First noticed early 20s but I do have some heavy clumps of grey where I have injured myself Grin

FedNlanders · 25/02/2021 13:30

26 but didn't really start appearing till 32 now I have loads at 34
