When did you start finding greys?

I'm early 30s and starting to notice the odd grey strand, luckily mostly not obvious yet because it's underneath my still dark hair but I feel like I shouldn't be going grey yet! Tbh I feel like I've aged fifty years over the past one. I just want to go to the hairdresser's. :(

I’m 38, only started getting mine in the last year!

Well my new 'grey' hairs are actually white, rather than grey but what's with the texture, if that's the right word? It's different to my normal hair...

None until 40. Now at 44 my hair around my temples is very grey but the rest of my hair hardly has any still (not that I can see anyway).

@Borntohula I think I am right ( someone who knows better please bung up and say ) there is no such thing as grey hair ( in the sense of a single hair is grey ) it's just how many white hairs you have compared to the rest of your hair .

I just wish all my hair would just go white - I would love it. My maternal grandmother went completely white in her 40s It looked great. I am a bit more badger ish Sad Envious of those who go white early doors and quickly.

My first grey hair appeared at 17. During the first lockdown last year I decided finally to let the grey grow out. My hairdresser put some very pale highlights in when the salon reopened in summer, and from then on I’ve been letting nature do it’s thing. It’s gone a lovely silver colour and the condition is so much better than when I was colouring it.

BitOfFun · 26/02/2021 00:46

Since lockdown, I’d say. I’m 47, but I’ve always highlighted my hair, so wouldn’t have noticed previously. I’m still trying to convince myself they might just be my natural blonde Grin.

Mid 30s. I’m now late 30s and am now discovering white eyelashes Sad

Dontstepinthecowpat · 26/02/2021 01:50

Early teens. Late 30s now and totally embraced it wouldn’t go back. My DD’s hairdresser found one in her hair when she was 6! It’s genetic here DM is totally grey but dyes it and I’ve only ever known DF to be grey.

  1. 🙁

  1. I'm now early 20s and have a full strip, very much visible. I hate it, but what is there to do? Too many of them to trim, I don't want to use dye...
NeedToGetOuttaHere · 26/02/2021 14:10

A very , very few at 45, I’m 52 now and don’t have many. My DF had dark hair until mid 60’s and my DM’s hair went from red to a lovely blond. I’m lucky so far.

Jericha · 26/02/2021 14:13

2 appeared at 33. Then nothing for a year and then noticed the same two yesterday. I wonder how long they've actually been there, lack of hair dying in lockdown definitely led me to finding them! I plucked them out yesterday, typically they were really thick at the grey part compared to my thin non-grey hair!

SockQueen · 26/02/2021 14:26

My sister found my first one on my wedding day at 27. They were very few and far between until I had DS2 at 34, since then it seems like ALL my postpartum regrowth has been grey! Haven't been brave enough to dye it yet but it's going to have to happen soon.
