Re masks, it may be that they are quietly dropped at some point over the summer. It’ll be announced that it’s up to your own / the restaurant’s discretion.

It may be that some people will choose to carry on wearing masks.

Last Spring, I had one going in for half the week and another going in for just one morning (different days as well) it was tricky, better than nothing I suppose but in particular the one morning was not very helpful as took over the day and they didn't do much really.

As much as I don't engage with the activity of ironing, a benefit of ironing a handkerchief is that it would kill the germs with the heat.

Do you think we'll see a reprisal of the cotton handkerchief? They are as hygenic as a cloth mask that has so reliably been protecting the masses in shops and now in secondaries, and save that pesky environmental problem of production and disposal of paper tissues ( and don't disingegrate and cause havoc in the washing machine...)

I did actually use cloth wipes on the DCs as babies. The flannel was far more effective than a smeary wet wipe. They're still being used as cloths!

I think the reprisal of handkerchiefs would be great.

I'm going quiet with my 'But masks don't bloody do anything' pedantry. I'm just a bit scared that if the BDs realise that they are pointless, we will never get our kids back in school. It really really annoys me because bad science and weak arguments really really annoy me + I hate masks for loads of different reasons but I'm thinking it's best to keep quiet.

Wow. Just looked at holiday prices for Greece for next year. Ouch!!!! It looks like holidays abroad are going to become the domain of the upper middle classes again 😫. Prices look to be up by around 25 to 30%
