Wow @LivinLaVidaLoki what a prick Angry

Evenstar · 09/03/2021 15:10

I wonder what the self appointed COVID police are going to do with their days when the restrictions are finally lifted? Sorry that happened to you @LivinLaVidaLoki 💐

SirSamuelVimes · 09/03/2021 17:35

Go back to whinging on local FB about groups of young people having the temerity to exist, I expect.

TabbyStar · 09/03/2021 17:47

I've had to bring DD into the city for a medical appointment and I'm not allowed into the clinic so there is nowhere I can go to the loo 😭😭

ISaySteadyOn · 09/03/2021 18:23

That sucks. I am sorry. I hope you found one in the end

OP posts:
LivinLaVidaLoki · 09/03/2021 18:35

Oh no @TabbyStar hope you found somewhere. I cannot believe the amount of closed loos everywhere.

TheOrchidKiller · 09/03/2021 18:56

I'm facing a similar dilemma to Tabby when I have to take my 2 to an appointment tomorrow, & won't be allowed inside the building with them. (They are big enough to go in alone, but still need a lift). There's no car park on site either. Weather is supposed to be bad, so big coat it is, & no drinks beforehand!

@LivinLaVidaLoki that sounds like a horrible experience you had. There are some very officious folk out there, The Roolz have made them worse.

ISaySteadyOn · 09/03/2021 19:02

@LivinLaVidaLoki, I meant to say earlier, I am sorry that happened to you. People can be such jerks.

Nowhere to go to the loo. I held onto it (!), it was better when I wasn't stood outside in the cold, but my period had started as I suspected when I got home, as I'm peri menopausal and bleeding every couple of weeks. It is crap. I guess they might have let me into the clinic if I was desperate but I also thought I might embarrass DD! The city centre was empty and scruffy and depressing though.

MrsEWeatherwax · 09/03/2021 19:55

Gosh Whitty is full of optimism, it’s he. This has to end some day hasn’t it. I can’t take much more.

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 09/03/2021 20:15

Whitty has made me so cross today. Nothing coherent to say about- just rage Angry No recognition of how hard it is for people and as far as I could see (though I only listened to the headlines) no explanation of why it would be so bad when apparently the vaccinations are going so well. There was a another story on the news about missed breast cancer screening but I guess that's not so important - only women

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 09/03/2021 20:19

@TabbyStar my periods have started being more frequent with peri. Cruel irony I always think of menopause creating more periods!! I'd naively imagined them getting lighter and further apart. How wrong I was!

TabbyStar · 09/03/2021 20:25

Yeah they've been pretty close together for a while but then I started taking HRT and that seems to have completely thrown them and I'm having two a month. They're fairly light though so there is that!

chocolatesweets · 09/03/2021 20:31

Yup. Glass of wine tonight

Worldgonecrazy · 09/03/2021 20:49

Peri too and my cycle has shortened from 35 days to 23 😕

Another thing no one tells you about menopause.

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 09/03/2021 21:07

Mine went from about 28-30 days to around the 21 mark with the odd 17 thrown in. Not something I was expecting at all.

@mrsdeacon I absolutely agree. Whitty has a job to do, and it is a shit one, but people really do need some hope and some recognition of the fact that current circs are shit... Not fleetingly shit, but have been shit for a year, in a thoroughly gruelling and spirit destroying way. Lives are being ruined to greater or lesser extents.
MercyBooth · 09/03/2021 22:59

Also peri with them getting closer together and i get darker blood first.

SirSamuelVimes · 09/03/2021 23:05

Oi, you lot. Stop with all this realism about menopause will you? I'm 37, and looking forward to a sudden, symptomless, blissful cessation of periods one day! Stop ruining my insane, idiotic & unrealistic dreams!

That's what I imagined would happen. I'm sure it does for some women so you never know..

On a different note, did anyone else see this?

www.independent.co.uk/news/health/covid-brazil-variant-pfizer-vaccine-b1814332.html

The vaccine does appear to work for the Brazil variant!

bakingcupcakes · 09/03/2021 23:11

I sometimes think I'm peri (shorter cycles, night sweats) but anyone I've mentioned it to says I'm too young. My mum went through the menopause at 43 though so I'm kind of expecting it to be early.

I only had one smear test in my early twenties. It was so painful I never had another. When I think back now I've no idea how I managed to let midwives examine me during pregnancy. I had a sweep before DS and that hurt like hell too. I've not let anyone near me down below since he was born! Grin

Loki That sounds awful and I definitely think he wouldn't have done it if you were a man.

Not much to report from me. My usual route to work has a road closure on it which is adding 6 minutes to my journey time at that point meaning I hit school kick out time further along. It's a real pain. The alternative routes are just as hideous. I've been studying Google maps and think I may have found an alternative through some side streets which I'm going to try tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't get lost.

bakingcupcakes · 09/03/2021 23:15

@SirSamuelVimes I was expecting a blissful finishing of periods too until my friends started to suffer the horrors! I honestly had no idea it could be like that. Blush I definitely didn't expect the frequency/amount to increase. It's been most disappointing!

Taswama · 10/03/2021 07:13

In positive news from my town centre - the fruit and veg market stall was back, the high street felt busy with people sat on benches in the sun and there was even a busker!

SirSamuelVimes · 10/03/2021 08:05

Morning all!

DH has taken a day off work, we're going to take the eldest to school and then have a morning out at a stately home garden/grounds that's just reopened near us. Hoping for a dementor free day, as they wil all presumably be cowering on fear at home. Hurrah!

In other news, as karmic punishment for my menopause hopes, my period arrived (with a bang) in the night! Dammit. Sad
