Just head that Prince Charles has been to visit him in hospital due to ‘exceptional circumstances’. He’s never visited him in hospital before and apparently left looking emotional. It doesn’t look good does it? I wonder how this will play out given the pandemic?

There was no policing. Just posters expressing their opinion about what's said by full time M&H detractors.

WinnieTheW0rm · 02/03/2021 13:34

There are no 'full time' detractors, any more than there are full time fans.

The timing is indeed unfortunate, and I doubt they have the influence to alter it.

SuperSimple · 02/03/2021 13:59

It just seems to be the same few users, in the last few days that I've been watching these threads, who consistently appear to tell everybody off.

So... you want a thread where you can say what you like about two people and no one is allowed to disagree with what you say? Or question so called facts that are blatantly false? That is an echo chamber and shouldn't exist on a forum, which is based on different opinions and views.
It's not 'telling off'.

RickiTarr · 02/03/2021 14:11

Can we not completely derail, possibly?

Roussette · 02/03/2021 14:17

Agreed.
Shame a poster earlier on had to swerve this round to M&H. Again.

Laiste · 02/03/2021 14:48

But you're engaging with the chat about H & M yourself Confused

Roussette · 02/03/2021 15:04

Yep. Shame she did that.

LoveYourUsername · 02/03/2021 15:07

Why are recent posters bringing up H&M?

As for this, I'm sure that if H wanted to use his clout, he could have some influence over when the prog is shown.

That interview was long since recorded though. And it’s in the US. The Americans aren’t going to think timing in terms of when it’s aired. Nothing to do with Harry and Meghan

@HebeMumsnet

Evening, all.

We've reopened this thread now we've had a chance to go through it. We hope it's been a chance for everyone to cool off a bit too as there were a lot of deletions.

We understand that this is a big news story and we don't want people to not be able to discuss it but we will have to make further deletions and possibly close it again if there's more speculation of the 'ungenerous' sort, or if the thread turns into yet another thread about Meghan Markle.

We'd really like to get it back on track now. Obviously our thoughts are with the Duke of Edinburgh and all his family at this time. Flowers

Please read this. This thread will get zapped if you make it about H&M.
TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 02/03/2021 15:34

@AlternativePerspective

The Harry Meghan interview release timing is unfortunate. Like them or not, now (re:PP) is not a good time to be airing grievances. That interview was long since recorded though. And it’s in the US. The Americans aren’t going to think timing in terms of when it’s aired. Nothing to do with Harry and Meghan.
It was re-recorded after Philip was admitted to hospital, once it had been announced Harry and Meghan wouldn’t continue with any royal patronages.

In fairness, whilst we know or the royal family in the U.K. they aren’t that well known outside of it. Many people recognise the Queen but even Philip, who has been by her side for decades is not necessarily that well known. As for the queen’s grandchildren, outside of the U.K. the vast majority will have no idea who they are (even William, who is likely to become king).

Countrysidebloos · 02/03/2021 15:35

I really hope he's ok. Granted, he's almost 100 and will likely go soon anyway but in a pandemic it just seems a bit much!

GetOffYourHighHorse · 02/03/2021 15:43

'Why are recent posters bringing up H&M?'

Because it is relevant! The poor Queen's dh is poorly in hospital, the last thing she or any of them need is a gossipy expose of behind the scenes in the RF. It hasn't aired yet but we've sadly seen the grim previews all over msm and sm, we know it is not going to be complimentary.

The poor Queen. How deeply upsetting this must all be. I hope her mental health is ok because her grandson clearly could not care less. No doubt she'll soldier on leading by example and not boo hoo to extremely tacky chat shows.

I find it quite staggering that we aren't suppose to discuss it as if it's not all over the news.

Back to the brollies at the back door then! Ignore the mahoosive elephant in the room Grin.

Meanwhile people are allowed to post 'ungenerous' comments about the family of well known people. I've reported them and they are never taken down.

Those brollies though. Have we discussed the parking arrangements at the KE hospital thoroughly enough, or even ICU provision?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/03/2021 16:06

What’s more British than a screen of umbrellas. Grin

Laiste · 02/03/2021 16:06

No i don't think so. I'm not clear on it all yet.

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 02/03/2021 16:13

At least we can guarantee Philip won’t be seeing the inside of the ICU (as a patient, at any rate).

GetOffYourHighHorse · 02/03/2021 16:14

'Meanwhile people are allowed to post 'ungenerous' comments about the family of well known people. I've reported them and they are never taken down.'

Tis intriguing. We can call many celebs all the awful names under the sun. Yet we've to tiptoe round H*rry metaphorically bowing and scraping.

I wonder if 'it' will be allowed to be discussed on Tuesday or will any H*rry mention equal automatic deletion and swift banhammers Shock .

Number3BigCupOfTea · 02/03/2021 17:01

No, it'd be interesting if a thread could discuss the interview, but you can forget it. They are above discussion. All i said was harry should get a job to win back respect, nobody said anything horrible, not that i read. Lots of pre emptive stress about "these threads' and then poof, Thread zapped. So incredibly tedious.

TheKeatingFive · 02/03/2021 17:04

In fairness, there are celebs that you can barely utter their name on here without being shut down.

H&M’s team are clearly very far from the most litigious.

SugarfreeBlitz · 02/03/2021 17:13

My heart goes out to the Queen. I hope she will put duty aside and spend some time with Phillip, if it's what they both want.

I read that they have spent more time together during the last year than in a long time, as usually Philip is at his cottage on the Sandringham Estate.
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 02/03/2021 17:44

I was only thinking last night that the Queen and Prince Phillip have probably spent more quality time together in the past year than they'd done for many a year. I am sure that will be a comfort to both of them.

If Prince Phillip has a bad infection it could upset his electrolyte balance which in itself can cause cardiac issues. This happend to DM a few years ago when she was very ill in hospital for several months. She had an underlying infection the source of which they never found. At one point her potassium levels were off the scale high and this caused all sorts of issues with her heart until they got them down to more stable/normal levels.
