One liners and quick posts on MN that have made you laugh?

As in... tickled you.. have a wry inwards smile.. dare I say it have a silent chuckle? I don’t drink tea and so have never spat it out Smile

There are tons... one from this week is from a thread where the teenagers had drunk all the milk at 2am leaving none for the OPs morning tea. What tickled me was a different poster empathising and saying that in a different thread the other OP had retaliated by “aggressively hoovering” outside their teen’s bedroom door.

Aggressively hoovering. Love it.

OP posts:

Oh goodness, I'm only on page 2 and I'm crying with laughter at some of these.

Havana oohnana is just too much Grin

BorisandHarriet · 12/02/2021 10:20

“Johnny mind your penis” 😂

LemonBreeland · 12/02/2021 10:39

I've now caught up on the whole thread, and honestly, this is the most my stomach muscles have worked since lockdown. A really well needed laugh. Off to read some of the classics. It's a while since I read anything in there.

SanFranBear · 12/02/2021 11:01

My cat went missing almost three weeks ago, I've just lost it at DS (9) who has been trying so hard for weeks, completely doesnt deserve it and I feel like an utter shit, I've just realised I've missed a work deadline and DD has just got tomatoes on the sleeve of her stupidly expensive YouTube merch hoody thing...

So THANK YOU, OP - really, really needed this today!

I remember 'Johnny, mind your penis!' Grin

My contribution, for what it's worth, was one of the first ever threads I found when I was pregnant, way back when. Someone on the pregnancy boards was saying how vivid their dreams had got and a poster said she'd had a dream where she'd given birth and her baby was just a giant thumb - for some reason, I couldn't stop laughing and laughing for weeks as her turn of phrase was so great.

I think that's what this thread shows - MN at it's very finest, so many funny, clever, quick women who can lift me at the worse times! Thank you Flowers

mammmamia · 12/02/2021 11:02

This is hilarious. Thank you for starting this thread OP!

I was coming on to mention the ‘names that are short for Hugo’ thread but see someone has beaten me to it. That made me laugh so much, especially when the OP got cross and flounced.

chimpandzee · 12/02/2021 11:20

I've been crying reading these, best laugh I've had in ages. I'm off to Classics now too...

Reality · 12/02/2021 11:33

Off you fuck then, cuntychops was me!

DianeCherry · 12/02/2021 11:42

@Reality

Off you fuck then, cuntychops was me!
I am in awe. I remember that one at the time and it's made me smile ever since!
december2020 · 12/02/2021 11:42

Please stop - you're going to make me wake my sleeping 12 week old! Dying of laughter!!

YerAWizardHarry01 · 12/02/2021 11:58

Actual tears reading these

Mochudubh · 12/02/2021 12:13

I thought "Kitten Lawyer" was going to be my only crying with laughter moment this week.

Thanks Everyone.

wellthatsunusual · 12/02/2021 12:20

I've been on Mumsnet for about 15 years and why have I only read that Boden thread for the first time? It is genius.

Also love the Jewish Fridge in Classics.

hollyandkit · 12/02/2021 12:27

Someone started a thread moaning about Madonna, something about what she was wearing or what she'd said. She put "who does she think she is anyway". First poster replies "Bitch, she's Madonna".

TokyoSushi · 12/02/2021 12:39

@ILookAtTheFloor

Mine will always and forever be..

'Balonz?

Wtf?'

I was roaring 😂😂 just two words! The Balonz thread was perfect trolling. My other fave was from Is Voldemort a virgin? Thread,

'accio spine' Grin it just made me giggle! Unfortunately that particular post seems to have been removed, I'm still sad about it.

Yesterday I had actual tears in my eyes with mirth when a poster said that Jonathan Van Tam looked like Penfold, so no she didn't fancy him 😂

I also enjoy any Gregg Wallace threads, one posted said he looked like he smelt of ham Grin

YES!!!!!!! This has been bugging me, literally since the start of the pandemic, who does JVT remind me of? It's Penfold!!!!
SaborDeSoledad · 12/02/2021 12:42

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but it the recent thread about "Covid Cafe," someone said they were "sick of being quartermaster to the useless."

Very funny!

Twotoesmo · 12/02/2021 12:46

Giving names to hunky Spanish soldiers in a random news pic... my favourite was Major Distraction.

Deedeedocket · 12/02/2021 12:50

Thank you, thank you. You have no idea. I just realised I haven’t laughed like this in fucking months and I’m only 3 posts down the Dolphin thread and gave tears streaming down my face. Sistine Chapel is also fucking incredible. Her poor, poor husband.

Please put this in classics.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/02/2021 12:51

@clockstopper

When *@JesusInTheCabbageVan posted I am here my child* at 7.49pm (or was it 6?)
MaudTheInvincible · 12/02/2021 12:52

@Reality

Off you fuck then, cuntychops was me!

👏👏👏👏👏

That's lived with me ever since and I often think of it, especially when someone's flouncing.

DioneTheDiabolist · 12/02/2021 12:54

Ooh I love a Spanish soldier pic. I wonder what filthy frugal genius designed their uniforms.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/02/2021 13:01

And the thread asking what to do with three mangoes, and quick as a flash someone hecate says "juggle them" grin OP was not amused in any way!

This one's in Classics and it gets better... OP spent pages pretending to be really offended and disapproving - it transpired she was on the wind- up, but she was very convincing and people spent ages trying to placate her. Finally OP said something like, "OK, lots of good suggestions, thanks. What about tomatoes, I have some I need to use up" and the first reply was "Juggle 'em". Grin

GeorgeMichaelsEspadrille · 12/02/2021 13:01

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2899062-is-my-hedgehog-fucked-pics

OP is concerned that her Hedgehog cake is fucked (and it is a bit). First response "Dunno about fucked, but certainly looks like it was taken by surprise!"

And it goes on from there with the classic MN combination of helpful tips and piss-take.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/02/2021 13:08

It's not in Classics, it's here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/food_and_recipes/377622-what-do-you-do-with-mangoes

"Juggle 'em" is the last post. Please, nobody add to it - it's perfect as it is.

EyeDrops · 12/02/2021 13:11

@Sparklfairy

Wasn't a one liner but the poster that derailed her own thread with the most amazing of typos makes me laugh every time.

'Boil in the vag curry' Grin

This gets my vote too. I think it's the most I've ever laughed in years of mumsnetting, I just couldn't stop giggling every time I thought about it! 🤣
EyeDrops · 12/02/2021 13:12

@BoarOnTheFloor

The one where someone made a thread asking about driving a manual car, but they called it Manuel in the thread title and the first reply was ‘Que?’ Grin
I'm not one for excessive reactions but I genuinely wept with laughter at that thread!
