Inspired by another thread. I think I was quite late losing mine, I was 25. What about you?

Not for lack of offers I just didnt want to have sex for the sake of it but most I know lost it younger and I got horribly bullied in school for being 'frigid' and a 'cocktease' because I didnt want to have sex sooner and being a virgin was 'uncool' - there was an epidemic of peer pressure in my school.

I may have been dating an utter idiot at 16 but as stupid as the relationship was at least I lost it to someone I truely had feelings for at the time and I dont regret it (even though I can laugh about how naive I was to think he was the love of my life) but at least it was not just a quick fling on the park bench with a random older guy who Id never see again like so many other girls I knew many of who couldnt even name the guy they lost it too.

13. Pissed at a party. My best friend's boyfriend, who had just taken her virginity, came into the room I was in and, well, 'climbed on' is the best way I can describe it. I didn't freak out really, I was so drunk, it just happened without my input and then he got off and then openly talked about it as if he was a big man. As an adult I feel weird about it but back then it was just brushed over. I was more upset that my friend found out, we're still good friends 30 years later and she still rags me about shagging her first boyfriend but I'm not sure if I did 'shag' him now.
ummm is this not classified as rape now...
notalwaysalondoner · 04/02/2021 15:17

I waited a year after meeting my now DH as at that time I was quite religious and wasn’t sure if I wanted to wait until marriage. We didn’t get married for 9 years though so glad I didn’t...!

Um. He raped you. I'm sorry.
EvilSylvanianRabbit · 04/02/2021 15:21

17, end of first year of sixth form. He was a nice first boyfriend, turned out to be long-term and we split amicably when I was 22

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 04/02/2021 15:32
 1. Older compared to lots of people I knew. But 'normal' within my friendship group.
40somethingJBJ · 04/02/2021 15:33

16, with a man much, much older than me. At the time, I was obsessed with him and wanted it to happen, but I’d known him since I was 11 and, when I think about it now, I realise I was groomed and he just waited until I was legal before he let anything happen.

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 04/02/2021 15:33

@Affor

21 which suited me well. 13/14/15 seems so young Sad
And illegal in the uk

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 04/02/2021 15:36

@Lessstressedhemum

About 6, but I don't count that. Consensually, 15.
That's awful. I hope you're ok and have support.
peaches99 · 04/02/2021 15:37

16, he was 22 so he knew what he was doing, also, he had his own flat that went with his work, so it was a nice experience.
I am glad that it wasn't with a spotty youth in some god awful place.
He was very good looking, so quite a catch!. Went out with him for some months, and he will still sometimes ask my brother how I am. Smile

Reading this has made me so sad. He definitely raped you so I totally understand why you feel weird about it now.
Whiskeylover45 · 04/02/2021 15:37

iljatdip · 04/02/2021 15:40

Sad that so many people look back on the event and wish they had waited or the situation had been different.

Is this unavoidable for teenage girls and just a function of being teenage, or is there stuff that can be done to stop so many being so disappointed or far worse.

I get that for many of you, it’s absolutely not ruined your lives and just a bit of a regret, but it would still be better if it wasn’t a regret. And there are far too many where they were pushed beyond what they were comfortable with or raped. Terrible.

Will first time sex, by its nature always be a disappointing experience or one linked to regret for many?

I totally get that for many it was lovely and not regretted at all...and at all kinds of ages too. Nice memories....it’s what we would want for our daughters and sons isn’t it.

Mylittlesandwich · 04/02/2021 15:43
@mylittlesandwich for me, it was around the same age. Orgasm too. It had honestly not occurred to me to try / masturbate before then/before I had a boyfriend.
I was 16 when I lost my virginity and I was almost 20 when I had my first orgasm! Safe to say it hadn't been going well to that point!
