Inspired by another thread. I think I was quite late losing mine, I was 25. What about you?

OP posts:
SafferUpNorth · 04/02/2021 14:19

20 to my now DH whom I married 6 years later. Now been married 20 years. Have never slept with anyone else in my life and wish I had,. If only hadn't been such a prude at 18/19.

Standrewsschool · 04/02/2021 14:19

@Lessstressedhemum

About 6, but I don't count that. Consensually, 15.
Child abuse. Hope you’re okay.
Standrewsschool · 04/02/2021 14:20

Hope you’re okay also,

And Flowers for everyone else in this situation

(Sorry, only read beginning and end of thread)

SafferUpNorth · 04/02/2021 14:20

Can’t remember exactly.

23? - now married to him

BashfulClam · 04/02/2021 14:21

19 but I wish I’d waited. Wrong guy to have that experience with. I should have waited and actually went after another guy who did fancy me but was to laid back to actually do anything and I was too shy. It might have helped us both out as he got drunk and slept with a girl he didn’t really like and she got pregnant. He didn’t want to be a dad so young or with her but stepped up. If we’d been together it might not have happened.

MyKingdomForACaramel · 04/02/2021 14:21

14 - another one who doesn’t regret it.

Deinosavros · 04/02/2021 14:21

16, to a disgusting man twice my age from my part time job.

I was in a large friendship group with some lovely boys at school at the time. I really wish it had been one of them, any of them. At least they would've respected me.

Tinacollada · 04/02/2021 14:22

Completely fine, Stand, thank you x

It takes bloody years though ...

Figgygal · 04/02/2021 14:23

22
Just wasn’t bothered previously
Not that I was bothered at 22 either

Spanielsanddaughters · 04/02/2021 14:23

20, various opportunities before then but something always blocked it... periods/taxi arriving etc.
Funnily enough the closest before then I was probably 18 (but someone walked in literally 1 second before it was about to happen and I got put off)... that was with now DH who I ended up in a relationship with when I was 27, unfortunately there were a few men in between.

I was definitely the last of my friends, they ranged from 14 to 18 I think.

DarcyJack · 04/02/2021 14:23

27 dh no regrets

Tinacollada · 04/02/2021 14:23

Saffer don't be silly!
Is life... I have a very healthy outlook now and I get what you mean x

Flippyferloppy · 04/02/2021 14:24

Just turned 19

MotherQueenXeno · 04/02/2021 14:26

14...no regrets and was not pressured into it.

Iampicklerick · 04/02/2021 14:26

15 with a nice but boring boyfriend.

I’m happy with that, it was about the right time for me.

Fistycuffs · 04/02/2021 14:26
  1. Only just. Not a good experience. Still feel pretty awful when I think about it and in all honesty I think it Kind of ruined how I feel about myself and physical relationships ever since. Wish I could turn back time.
Dontwanttooutmyself · 04/02/2021 14:26

17 - he was 32 and i feel sick thinking about it, so regret it. Saw virginity as something to be rid of, but looking back, it was because of the bullying leading to a complete lack of self-confidence and care for myself. I think sex without love is absolutely fine (and in the right circumstances, brilliant!) but not for your first time. But if I'd waited for sex with love, I'd have been 27 and missed out on all the great shags I had in the interim!

SweatyBetty20 · 04/02/2021 14:26
  1. Right age for me, probably wrong man. Can even remember the date - Man U lost the FA Cup to Everton, and he was a Man U fan.
LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/02/2021 14:26
1FootInTheRave · 04/02/2021 14:28

Not through choice.

I won't allow it to ruin my life but it certainly shaped the few years following.

thissemicharmedlife · 04/02/2021 14:29

When I look back I’m annoyed at how much there was a culture of shaming people for still being ‘virgins’ and how much pressure there was to just shed that label because it was seen as uncool among people at my school and college. I was 16 and just desperate to get rid of that label rather than being properly ready or interested in sex, didn’t actually have good enjoyable sex until I was 18 and that would have been the right age for me but was considered ‘late’ which is frankly ridiculous. No doubt some of my friends were ready earlier than me but I think it’s sad when it’s the norm and it’s expected that you ‘should’ have sex at 16. I hope it’s not this way anymore.

Iampicklerick · 04/02/2021 14:29

Spanielsanddaughters I have a story a bit like that with my first kiss at 13.

I didn’t see him after leaving school again until I was 28, and kissed him again - the week before I met DH. So my first and last before DH kiss was the same guy.

rhowton · 04/02/2021 14:31

Shortly after my 15th birthday. I was with the same boyfriend from 14-17 years old...
