What weird thoughts do you have?

Walking around my bedroom just now, I suddenly became aware of the downstairs part of my house underneath the floor. I know it's there all the time obviously but the thought just popped into my mind that there's another level underneath.

Tell me your weird thoughts please!

When I'm cleaning, I sometimes start to think about all the dead skin cells on my skin, which touched the cleaning cloth, which touched the kitchen counters, which are touched by family members who also have dead skin cells they leave behind... Is anything every clean? Especially in times like now, I have to stop thinking that Grin

That we are made of stardust...

MrsJackRackham · 04/02/2021 19:57

When I watch a film or TV programe I think I wonder what I was doing when the actor was saying those words.

Tashface · 04/02/2021 20:08

At night, I imagine there aren't any walls or roofs anywhere in my entire street, and that we all look really funny just lying about horizontally and floating in mid air Grin

That no two snowflakes are the same...We've had an ice age! Also, how many snowflakes fall in a year? Surely there must be some similar ones?

You've never played The Sims....? Grin

@73kittycat73 no I haven't! Grin

There is reality, and there is what my brain processes/ perceives, and also what every other brain on the planet processes/perceives, from termites to manta rays, so there are actually a myriad of realities.

WantChewbaccaForGood · 07/02/2021 16:34

we see the same moon as the dinosaurs

whoami24601 · 07/02/2021 16:38

We dithered about whether to have a third child, but ended up going for it. He's 2 now but I often think about if we'd said no how he wouldn't exist. Which then leads me on to thinking of all the babies we are stopping from existing by not having anymore children! It hurts my heart and my head 😔

That's amazing! I never thought/realised that. Thanks for sharing. Smile

I often think that maybe we all see colours differently. So I could ask my DS to look at the blue sky and it would be blue to me and green to him but we both are taught it as blue. So we all see the whole world in completely different colours but don't know it. Does that even make sense. GrinGrin

whoami24601 · 07/02/2021 20:57

@lifeinlimbo I think exactly the same! I remember having that conversation with my mum when I was about 10 and her looking at me like this Hmm

Chimeraforce · 07/02/2021 21:01

I'm still wondering why Sweden wasn't annihilated by the nazis. How did they get away bring "neutral"?
Why didn't that work for everyone else?

bigfelephantom · 07/02/2021 21:06

What if we're spiritual beings having a human experience?

Merename · 07/02/2021 21:09

That there is no objective reality, our experiences are projections of our mind, only as real as things experienced in a dream...

TimeIhadaNameChange · 07/02/2021 21:20

Similar to a pp, all the lives that haven't been lived because that one sperm didn't meet that one egg. There are thousands of possibilities each time a man ejaculates into a woman. And a huge number of possibilities between every man and every woman. Mind boggling!

TheWitchCirce · 07/02/2021 21:23

I wonder why you get a lesser sentence for attempted murder - rewarding incompetence?

TheWitchCirce · 07/02/2021 21:24

A friend told me that we are all the villain in somebody's life story and I occasionally wonder whose.

iklboo · 07/02/2021 21:29
  • I'm still wondering why Sweden wasn't annihilated by the nazis. How did they get away bring "neutral"? Why didn't that work for everyone else?*

That was Switzerland, rather than Sweden. And basically, I think, because of the banking:

While Switzerland maintained its independence by promising retaliation in the event of an invasion, it continued to trade with Nazi Germany, a decision that later proved controversial after the war ended.

Piggyhoolier · 07/02/2021 21:31

I can’t watch professional team sports matches without “hearing” the shouts and communication between players. The problem is, instead of thinking along obvious lines such as “man on” or “pass to Rashford” or whatever, I always hear random conversations which then play out through the match. Like “fancy coming for tea after the match?” Yeah ok, what we having?” “Thought I’d knock up a spag Bol!” And other equally improbable exchanges between players Blush

Elevenerife · 07/02/2021 21:34

There are over 7billion people on earth. All of whom have birthdays. So are there 7 billion birthdays or 365.

Fullmoonagain · 07/02/2021 21:35

I often wonder what determines what children look like, e.g. would mine and my DH first child always look like they do, even if conceived at a different time, and our second child was always going to look like that etc... Or are the physical characteristic they have completely random combination of our genes, with infinite possibilities.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 07/02/2021 21:43

@Bluewavescrashing I think that but about my loft. We're all cosy in bed and it's up there all dark and cold and full of boxes. I also imagine how it would be if the house was upside down and we had to walk on the ceiling. I think about stepping around the pendant lights and imagine looking up to see all the furniture upside down on the floor (which is now the ceiling)

YesPleaseMary · 07/02/2021 22:05

Sometimes when I look up at the clear night sky I have the thought that there is absolutely nothing between the top of my head and the stars I can see.
