No E or A names
Scottish nod (both Elliot & Arthur are also clan names)
Needs to be a saint name
Agnes for a middle name

You are not my SIL are you those are my nieces and nephews names and we are Scottish also 😂

YogaLite · 02/02/2021 22:56

Prefer Fleur to Flora
Also love Genevieve, Rosalie/Rosalyn (patron saint related to plague recovery), Lucy/Lucille, Miriam, Joanne/Joanna..

Are there any Scottish place names/islands close to your family that could be suitable? Iona is beautiful.

There was once a family with 4 daughters, all named after Scottish islands..I thought that was such amazing thing to do.

Margaret goes beautifully.

Fandangoes · 02/02/2021 23:18

I’m not keen on a name ending in ‘a’ followed by Agnes, I don’t think they sound right together

MiaowMiaow99 · 02/02/2021 23:20

Moira?

tableanadchairs · 02/02/2021 23:26

I like Kirsten Agnes but it doesn’t roll off the tongue - so what about Kirsty Agnes.
Kirsty being the Scottish form of Christine

boomboom1234 · 02/02/2021 23:32

Georgia

partyatthepalace · 02/02/2021 23:48

You don’t want an Arthur and a Martha...

Ishbel rather than Isabella
Iona - lovely - and a holy island...
Fenella -Scottish version of Irish Finonualua - gotta be a Saintly connection somewhere
Marsali - Scottish version of Margaret
Or Marguerite, given the Scottish/French link
Or Pearl - often used for Margaret in religious text (St Margaret was the Scottish Pearl)
Jemima - feminine of James
Jane, Jean - feminine versions of John, both consistently more popular in Scotland
Shona - variation of Jane/Janet
Mary - Queen of..
Roslyn - as in the chapel (if you don’t mind people thinking you are a da Vinci coder)

.... Innes is a boys name in Scotland. Ines is the female name but not especially Scottish

IthinkIm · 02/02/2021 23:57

I came on to say Ishbel Agnes

Leona Jean Agnes

Tara Agnes

Heidi Agnes

Lisa Jean Agnes

Just to say thanks for all the suggestions and feedback- helpful!

Have a coworker Kirsty but otherwise would’ve considered it. Perhaps too cutesy though. Of the other names suggested either can’t do or don’t like. Leona is pretty, like Lenore too ...

Lenora Margaret?

OP posts:
IthinkIm · 03/02/2021 08:52

Leonard is lovely. I know one who gets called Leo by her parents and Nora by her friends.

YogaLite · 03/02/2021 11:45

Leonie?

YogaLite · 03/02/2021 11:54

Isabella?

I know one called Izzy by friends and Bella at home, love Bella.

floristowen · 03/02/2021 21:57

Yes, quite like Lenora and nick names although not Scottish! My mum is Norma so would be a nod to her though. Def a contender and going on the list.

Isabella is beautiful but have a cousin whose daughter is Isabel but often gets called Isabella ... plus not sure is matters but names like Stella and Isabella have the Ell that is part of Elliot, who I often call El or Elly at home ...

First thought Miriam

averythinline · 03/02/2021 23:13

My 1st thought was Maisie...lovely is less formal than great others
I really like Agnes as well could that not be 1st?

Other Favourites
Margot
Margaret especially as I have Scottish Peggy's all over the family tree..
Josephine is a real classic too and sounds great with Agnes
I like Flora but not sure i could use it..
Catriona also a favourite

Elspeth?

Most of them are lovely

Not Mary Agnes definetly a miserable nuns name

floristowen · 04/02/2021 04:57

Thanks. Can’t use Catriona and trying to avoid other E & A first names.

Margaret is the patron saint of Scotland as well as being my late MIL’s name so using it or a variation would be lovely.
