The police let them in and the Pentagon rejected the request for the National Guard. Trump told the protestors that ‘they’re very special to him’. He’s a sandwich short of a picnic, chuck his orange ass in prison.

They smashed through antique-glass-panelled doors, they terrified the senators who were doing their jobs, terrorised the security guards, caused any amount of damage to a historic building, and left a young woman dead in the process. Storming the Capital building with no real plan other than to take selfies of themselves once they'd got in does not excuse their actions.

Don't forget Boris is one of Trump's biggest fans, what happens over there will no doubt happen here sooner or later.

All democratic countries deal with riots from time to time, but not led by a President touting conspiracy theories.

As I predicted in discussion with my mates last night, this has backfired nicely on Trump. GOP election deniers have dropped objections as they can't be seen to be supporting this behavior and social media have finally had to act against the orange toad.

Hope the whole Trump family ends up in orange boiler suits after this. Absolute shame on them. If there’s any silver lining it’s that maybe some of the 70 odd mil that voted for him and the two or three posting on here might realise how very wrong they were.

Yes - even if you take the line that they were harmless idiots, they were exploited by the president and some of them didn't make it out alive.

Nobody can truly believe at this point that he is fit to hold the office of President, but what is the safest way to get through the next two weeks?

Four dead. Will they become Trump martyrs? I can see him using those deaths, when in reality he is responsible for them.
