Apparently one of them is shooting, so...

I saw only peaceful milling on tv and couldn't find other footage online.
I hoped that peaceful milling was where things would stop. Didn't find police confrontations or building break-ins until I searched hard on Twitter.

Its grand guinol but it won't change anything. Of course they will be described as fine, concerned citizens whereas if it were BLM or leftwing protestors (which it wouldn't be as they'd be teargassed and/or shot before getting in) of course they'd be a terrifying threat to democracy.

I've just watched a video of them smashing a window of the Capitol Building and climbing through it. There are also way more than 100 people there. This is absolutely not a peaceful protest.

The Washington Post is now reporting that the defense department has denied a request from DC officials to deploy the National Guard to the US.
The defense department is currently led by acting secretary Christopher Miller, who was appointed in November, after Donald Trump abruptly fired Mark Esper.
The situation at the Capitol has made it clear that the US Capitol Police need more assistance, and those watching the situation are starting to why help hasn’t arrived.
