DM has lots of praise for paramedics and nurses . Doctors.........not so much.

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 21:14

14th February 2008 I became very ill overnight. I was in incredible abdominal pain, and sorry for TMI , I had diarrhoea like lava. And i lost conciousness. I was taken to hospital and given intravenous antibiotics They told me it was a kidney infection. The next morning though a hospital administrator came to my room and asked if id been abroad and where. I told him no and the last time was the 80s. They were great and the hospital was also great when DH had his heart attack in 2006. Paramedics were great too.

Im not slagging off the NHS I think parts of it are great. But it seems to be a bit of a lottery sometimes.

Iheartmysmart · 17/12/2020 21:20

We’ve had a nightmare as a family with the NHS. DM was told it was her age when in fact her heart was failing, one DGM was dropped whilst in hospital causing awful injuries, other DGM caught MRSA and c-diff in hospital and DS was told by the GP that his suicidal thoughts would go once he’d done his GCSEs - he was 13 at the time. I have no desire to protect it.

Evenstar · 17/12/2020 21:29

Not sure if anyone else has seen this one, bit of a laugh or you would cry

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 21:33

Oh and i tripped over a traffic cone today in Tesco car park. And walked into a bollard. Take a guess why.

Iheartmysmart · 17/12/2020 21:33

Thank you Mercy. It’s a shame that so many people on this thread have had such shabby treatment from the NHS.

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 21:34

Emma Kenny shared it on Twitter @Evenstar but ta. I really rate Emma

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 21:41

I’m not keen on her after the anti vax thing

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 21:42

Is she anti vax? Ive only been following her for about a week I rate her for her vids about mental health.

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 21:43

I might be mixed up.. I’ll check

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 21:45

She is anti the Covid vaccine

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 21:51

Oh i see. DH got a text from the surgery about his today. He is still saying he doesnt want it. Hes had other vaccines. Although he stopped the flu one a couple of years ago because of a reaction he had to it. I dont know whether he will change his mind.

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 21:53

I’ll take anything to get out.

AcornAutumn · 17/12/2020 21:53

@WouldBeGood

She is anti the Covid vaccine
Is she, or is she just raising concerns?

Two of dad’s 80+ former colleagues have said they’re not having it, though their reasons are personal and political rather than medical.

Do you mind if I ask what kind of reaction he had?

I took the flu jab the last couple of years but my dad (doctor) always said it was just another way for companies to make money.

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 21:58

Selfishly I want people to take it as I’m so desperate for freedom

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 22:02

Re panettone Ive bought the Sainsburys Taste The Difference Triple Chocolate one. I didnt realize until after i got it home that it also has chocolate icing on top.

Selfishly, that view really worries me but this is obviously not the place for that chat Flowers My sister is the same.

I’ve just found one product Aldi don’t do well. Just had some soup that tasted of nothing!

Oh...the one we’ve been given is chocolate but the picture doesn’t show icing.

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 22:05

@AcornAutumn DHs exact words just now were......very chesty , very heady and aching bones? He said its hard to describe but aching all over.

WouldBeGood · 17/12/2020 22:06

@AcornAutumn I can’t live like this

Could be a coincidence

Few of mum’s friends have had that bit of course the flu jab is given when seasonal viruses are high.

MercyBooth · 17/12/2020 22:09

@AcornAutumn my parents are 84 and they are angry at the way this has panned out and the way families have been treated , So i guess thats political . When i asked my dad whether he would have it he said "what for"
