Is there anyone that’s HASN'T got matching family pjs?

I think it’s cute just wondering if there’s anyone left out there that doesn’t lol.

Errrr no. Not a chance.

minipie · 08/12/2020 12:24

@Christmastime4 yes my children are 8 and 5. They might enjoy matching pjs I suppose, for about 20 minutes till the novelty wore off. Not enough to justify the waste, expense and extra clutter imo.

@Baycob you asked what we wear if we don’t wear PJs, the answer is pants. I wear pants and DH wears boxers. Not worried about the kids seeing our other bits. If at some point they start to get embarrassed about it then the answer is don’t come in our bedroom in the mornings until we are up and dressed. Rather than us making ourselves hot and uncomfortable with PJs.

Baycob · 08/12/2020 12:35

@VenusTiger

Ofc, but I still wouldn’t sleep naked unless I was in a hotel! I think it’s strange and it seems the majority of the population agree with me since their is a huge market for PJs!

Not here. Nor Christmas bedding, Elf on a Shelf or Christmas Eve boxes.

Each to their own !

A hotel is one of the only places I would wear nightwear!

PattyPan · 08/12/2020 12:42

No, I find them a bit cringey.

I sleep naked. Always have. I wear pyjamas to relax and feel cosy in the evening/morning.

Parker231 · 08/12/2020 12:44

No - definitely not. Nor any Christmas bedding. We’re individuals and have different tastes in PJ’s.

I sleep naked, my parents slept naked. but some of us also had pyjamas - put on in the morning to make coffee, put on after a bath to wear under a dressing gown to watch TV, etc.

Fat too hot and tangly to sleep in. No one has suffered any ill effects from any of this. The children always saw adults naked, in the shower, on the landing, in bed. No one came in direct contact with any body parts that would be disturbing. No big deal all round.

But no way would I be spending money on naff matching Christmas pyjamas.

NeedToKnow101 · 08/12/2020 13:06

Nope! It's not our scene!

NeedToKnow101 · 08/12/2020 13:08

We did all get onesies once at the same time though (different animals), but they made us a bit B-O-ey, so we didn't wear them much. Blush

VenusTiger · 08/12/2020 13:12

@Christmastime4 young son here and no, he has his own brushed cotton "winter" pjs - I don't wear pjs, I move around too much - will wear a night shirt if it's a cold night - DH either naked or boxers

merrygoround51 · 08/12/2020 13:13

No, we all (except for DH) have Xmas pjs of a type but no matching ones

steppemum · 08/12/2020 13:18

@Christmastime4

Everyone there saying no do you have young children?
Kids are teens.

I have never liked the idea.

I could, possibly, have put kids in matching pjs.
But, we don't open presents in pjs, apart from stockings, and we don't do Christmas Eve box, and no item of clothing only gets worn once, so pjs will need to be worn for rest of winter.
And then we passed clothes down to younger siblings, so Christmas PJs this year become little sisters Christmas PJs next year.

All too twee and too difficult.

Baycob · 08/12/2020 13:25

@Whererainfalls

Yes I’m horrified if they do it when their is potential for co-sleeping with their children or they don’t live alone as a couple. Sorry if I’m a prude. But I find it weird.

TurquoiseDragon · 08/12/2020 13:30

No matching PJs here, we all have very different likes and dislikes for clothing.

cremuel · 08/12/2020 13:31

Ugh. Would rather we all hung out naked than have matching pyjamas ...

OhMsBeliever · 08/12/2020 13:38

My teenage/young adult offspring refuse to wear matching pjs. It makes me very sad.

Shesellsseashellsontheseashore · 08/12/2020 14:06

Nope never have. I buy my children Christmas pj's and they occasionally match if I can get them in the right sizes.

BearSoFair · 08/12/2020 14:07

Nope. DC are a bit big for it now but we didn't when they were younger either.

NewYearNewTwatName · 08/12/2020 14:27

I love Christmas, and all things Christmassy.

But matching PJs I just don't get. Its seems to be part of the 'look at me/us' culture of social media.

Matching family anything is urgh and cringey reminding me of sickly sweet American 70s family TV series.

To answer your other question DC are teens, but even if they were little it would be a no.

Bluesheep8 · 08/12/2020 15:18

No but I don’t do social media either and I gather that’s the main purpose of such activities.

I came to say the same thing. It's solely for the Christmas day episode of "look at my perfect life everyone " coming to a Facebook page near you...bought and worn by the sort of people who "Make memories" I strongly suspect Hmm

dayswithaY · 08/12/2020 15:27

Same here. No matching PJs, no social media. No interest thanks.

isseywith4vampirecats · 08/12/2020 15:30

being as my fave PJs are fleece with polka dots in pink i dont think my 6ft 4 biker OH would look very good in matching mine he dosent wear pjs anyway
