Is there anyone that’s HASN'T got matching family pjs?

I think it’s cute just wondering if there’s anyone left out there that doesn’t lol.

Me! Just would never do it.

MustDust · 07/12/2020 21:51

Um I don't actually think our tops match our bottoms so there's zero chance of us matching each other!

Fuckitsstillraining · 07/12/2020 21:52

No way, think it's a ridiculous trend only started to flog pjs etc. My neighbours do though and I know because she takes pics for Facebook, she, her husband and their two daughters who are in their mid 20's. It's pretty cringe to be honest.

crumpet · 07/12/2020 21:53

Hasn’t ever occurred to me to do so...

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/12/2020 21:54

@Christmastime4

Anyone going for matching jumpers? 😁
No, even worse !!!
Whererainfalls · 07/12/2020 21:57

God, no. I've actually just bought my first proper pair of pyjamas this year at the grand old age of 45. I don't match with anyone else in the house though.

I do sometimes match with DD by accident. Since I still buy and pick out her clothes, obviously I choose things that I like. So, sometimes we are both wearing, say, jeans, a stripy top and a green parka. I cringe at myself when that happens, though, and hope nobody else notices.

Witchend · 07/12/2020 22:04

I could suggest it to my family, along with a picture for Facebook but I suspect it wouldn't lead to a harmonious photo.

laudemio · 07/12/2020 22:05

No, would never occur to me to do this.

MushMonster · 07/12/2020 22:07

Lots of noes! It is our first Christmas with matching PJs. Looking forward to wearing them!

mamaduckbone · 07/12/2020 22:07

Me.
I have a 6'6 husband, a 15yo ds and an 11yo ds. We would look ridiculous.

We've never had an elf on the shelf, a Christmas Eve box or adult advent calendars either.

JellicleCat · 07/12/2020 22:08

God no. More commercialisation, We don't own Christmas jumpers either in our house. Bah humbug.

AriesTheRam · 07/12/2020 22:09

@StandardLampski

I dont think any of us ever even have matching tops and bottoms Grin
Same here, most of the time.

My kids commented on my Christmas pyjamas at the weekend. I bought them in October because they were the least hideous pyjamas M&S had in stock in my size (navy with polar bears). I don’t do pink, puppies, teddy bears, glittery-sparkly, sexy-silky (draughty house) or silly girly mottos, which didn’t leave me with much choice. The cashier smiled and said “ooh, you’re organised”. Nope, just desperate to buy something that doesn’t look a four year old with a major princess complex chose them. I’ve bought men’s pyjamas in the past for the same reason.

So, would I wear matchy-matchy pyjamas with my family? No fucking chance.

Baycob · 07/12/2020 22:09

🙋🏼‍♀️

MoonahStone · 07/12/2020 22:10

No I don't but I do have judgy pants

WeatherwaxOn · 07/12/2020 22:10

Nope. Too expensive for something that'll barely get worn.

There is not a hope in hell I would ever get my DC to wear matching anything never mind matching jammies. As soon as they could talk they wouldn’t wear anything they didn’t want to.

I just asked DD2 (14) who said I would rather die, that’s just for sad Karen’s on Facebook Confused

They do get a new pair of jammies Christmas Eve but not Christmas themed.

minipie · 07/12/2020 22:13

Nope. Never have and never will. I don’t wear pjs anyway and nor does DH so would never occur to me.

Humans are going to look back on this era one day and weep for all the landfill created by these retail invented “traditions” and the acquisition of yet more stuff.

TheSunIsStillShining · 07/12/2020 22:19

Nobody in our family owns PJs. We use t-shirts.

herethereandeverywhere · 07/12/2020 22:24

My kids both put it on their Xmas list. They love it, so nice to do something simple and fun together.

I think unnecessary bitching from some posters is far more distasteful than people in matching PJs Hmm

Baycob · 07/12/2020 22:28

@minipie

What do you wear then?

If you sleep naked - what happens if your kids come into bed with you ? I would not be comfortable with that!!!!!

Or if there was a fire and you had to get outside ?
