Is there anyone that’s HASN'T got matching family pjs?

I think it’s cute just wondering if there’s anyone left out there that doesn’t lol.

No, we haven’t. My daughter won’t wear pyjamas anyway!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 08/12/2020 05:50

Why this obsession with pyjamas?

And ‘PJs’ is such a twee, childish and /or American name for them.

None of us wear actual pyjamas to sleep in, some have them for putting on to make the coffee or walk round the house before being dressed.

Not an item of clothing that we would make central to our family identity.

MinnieMountain · 08/12/2020 05:54

We all bought Christmas pants from the local market the year we spent Christmas in Spain with FIL. Does that count?

We wear them every year! I love shopping for them

DuzzyFuck · 08/12/2020 08:18

I've often wondered who takes the cringey picture of the family all in matching PJs? Do they have to invite a friend or neighbour in? Doesn't that just make it MORE cringey and awkward to be posed by the tree in your pajamas with a random acquaintance taking your picture?

Not for me thanks (and I'd never get DP to wear PJs anyway, not even for a picture).

ShoeJunkie · 08/12/2020 08:24

Nope, DH would leave home before wearing matching pyjamas Grin

lynsey91 · 08/12/2020 08:28

There are no pyjamas in this house. Me and DH sleep naked.

We set a timer on my phone and then take a photo! They are some of my favourite photos we have had a family
LastChristmas20 · 08/12/2020 08:52

We wouldn't if MIL hadn't bought us some.

I've got better things to waste my money on.

CrochetToTheMoon · 08/12/2020 09:00

I’m 34 and my sister is 30, we wore matching pyjamas on Christmas Eve for as long as I remember (way before Instagram!). Now that I have young kids we wear family jammies on Christmas Eve and Christmas jumpers or dresses (although non matching) on Christmas Day, I love it but I don’t take pictures for social media.

movingonup20 · 08/12/2020 09:10

Each to their own, but can't think of anything more tacky or wasteful. Can't stand pj's anyway.

movingonup20 · 08/12/2020 09:15

@RainingBatsAndFrogs

I've never worn them either, one of my (adult) DD's likes them the other told me around 16 she wanted a silk nightdress or shorty pjs for Christmas instead.

Simplyunacceptable · 08/12/2020 09:16

No. I always get my DC either matching or at least similar pjs for Christmas Eve but DH and I aren’t pyjama wearers.

MenaiMna · 08/12/2020 09:29

Never have never will, won't even buy Christmas themed ones, it's too much consumption for its own sake. A nice warm pair of PJs to wear for the rest of the winter YES - Christmas matchy match NO

Whererainfalls · 08/12/2020 09:29
@TheSandman

I’m still horrified. Imagine your other half was standing to attention and your toddler was in bed with you. It happens spontaneously in the mornings to many. Sorry, but that is horrifying.
You're horrified by people not wearing pyjamas in their own beds? Seriously?? Hmm

notdaddycool · 08/12/2020 09:32

A couple of years ago I would have said no way, I did actually look this year but didn't see any I'd like.

PerditaNitt · 08/12/2020 11:39

OP, you may have got a different range of responses if you had posted this on the Christmas forum, where we are all far more twee Smile

WankPuffins · 08/12/2020 11:42

There has never been a time where I've had the money to buy four pairs of pyjamas in one go anyway!

KipperTheFrog · 08/12/2020 11:43

Not here.
DH doesn’t wear pyjamas. DD’s would probably love it though. However, I don’t buy new Christmas pjs every year for me, but do for DD’s as they grow. Seems wasteful to buy all matching when they’d only match for 1 year.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/12/2020 11:59

Never have, never will.

I’m on the Christmas forum. I love Christmas and family Christmas traditions. You still will never catch me and my family in matching pyjamas.
Christmastime4 · 08/12/2020 12:05

Everyone there saying no do you have young children?

OP posts:
Pandoraslastchance · 08/12/2020 12:07

Nope. I'm too fat, OH is too much of a grinch, dd1 is a teen, dd2 might wear them but dd3 is more often than not naked.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/12/2020 12:07

No, my children are grown up. If they were little now we still would not do it.

I did used to buy them new, sometimes Christmassy, pyjamas for Christmas Eve/Christmas day.

TragedyHands · 08/12/2020 12:08

Us, we don't have them or xmas bedding.
