🎤On the National Express
There’s a jolly hostess
Giving porridge free
She’ll provide you with shots
amaretto or what
You like to seeeeee...

Going out was in style
Now we’re stuck in this aisle
Dream of being free
And it’s hard to get by
When your arse is the size
Of the furlough feeeeeee🎤

Bah ba ba la
Bah ba ba la

Tomorrow belongs to meee...

Welcome to the 17:38 to freedom, stopping at virtual hugs, critical discourse, and random tangents along the way. ETA unknown...

@robinhobb That's horrendous and makes me so angry. Sending Flowers and love x

countrygirl99 · 14/11/2020 18:33

@Reedwarbler @RobinHobb both horrendous stories. How can some people not see this

MercyBooth · 14/11/2020 18:38

Because they dont want to see it

TheOrchidKiller · 14/11/2020 18:41

@RobinHobb
So sorry.

Wishfulthinking1977 · 14/11/2020 18:42

@RobinHobb and @Reedwarbler sending loads of love! I have had some good news and annoying news today! Good I can finally get a smear test!! Mask free!! Not till next year but it was reassuring that although I can't wear a mask I can at least get some medical help! Annoying was we now have 2 bloody covid marshals walking around our empty beach looking for easy prey to pounce on!!
On the subject of long covid I had swine flu when it was a thing and I was ill for months afterwards! Lung infections, a terrible caigh cough and fatigue, how can this be a new thing?

DrDiva · 14/11/2020 18:44

So sorry @RobinHobb Flowers

ISaySteadyOn · 14/11/2020 18:48

It isn't. I remember reading about Victorian convalescence by the seaside.

RobinHobb · 14/11/2020 18:53

@Reedwarbler

Incidentally, the phone we called my fil on was a carer's own, not the property of the home. She kindly gave us the number.
This is appalling. I cannot believe this is possible in this day and age. It's inhuman
RobinHobb · 14/11/2020 18:56

Thank you everyone. I appreciate it.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 14/11/2020 19:53

@RobinHobb Thanks

ValancyRedfern · 14/11/2020 20:03

Thinking of your friend and her dd robinhood. I've been lurking on these threads and this is my first dive in. This whole thing makes me so angry. Flowers

Willow2017 · 14/11/2020 20:09

Reedwarbler and Robinhobb
Both stories are criminal people should be made accountable for all this hell they have inflicted on people.

Justgivemewine · 14/11/2020 20:22

@RobinHobb and @Reedwarbler So sorry, both your situations are just awful Flowers

@Wishfulthinking1977, it isn’t a new thing (I ended up in hospital with pneumonia after having swine flu) but it fits in with the fear propaganda to try and make out it’s a special Covid thing.

Littlebelina · 14/11/2020 20:47

@RobinHobb and @Reedwarbler Flowers

Dollybagwash · 14/11/2020 20:48

@RobinHobb so so sorry 😢

BogRollBOGOF · 14/11/2020 21:17

Robin and Reed, the wider costs of this are horrendous and they all hurt and matter as much as all the harm that's supposed to be avoided Flowers

We seem to be making a soggy weekend habit of heading to my hometown to go for walks. Plenty of sheltered woods against the wind and rain. I'm finding it quite connecting going around my childhood dog walks and sharing them with my DCs as they've barely seen extended family this year.

@RobinHobb I am so sorry. Cancer is shit and the current situation is added shit on top. Life is a shit sandwich sometimes.
My H tells me it is WhatsApp we are using to speak to his dad, not zoom. (I have never used either. I'm only slightly less of an old luddite than my fil!)
