Right I have signed on today after a busy day but having had a productive and encouraging chat with my mentor at uni. I told him I was struggling and he was amazing.

Anyway I logged on and some TWAT has posted a thread saying Xmas should be cancelled. And there are people AGREEING with this.

What
The
Actual
Fuck?

No one surely thinks like this in real life. Are they planning to stay at home forever?

I'm watching the crown and wondering what the Queen makes of all this.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 20/11/2020 16:59

@MercyBooth

Partly. Having to prat around at the surgery doesnt help.
Next year I'm going straight to the chemist I found this year where I got it done ages ago instead of endelessly chasing the GP for mine. Straight in and out didn't even have to pre-book.

Nowhere here seems to do it for under 16s - so I'm stuck chasing for DS for couple more years.

MercyBooth · 20/11/2020 17:16

Thanks Flowers He did say he had a reaction to the last one. And all this crap and bullying from the Gov is his final straw.

Wanksock has just announced free flu jabs for the over 50s From December 1st. DH is 70 Im 47.

if i have it done it will be at a chemist anyway. Agree its less hassle.

justasking111 · 20/11/2020 17:22

I have the rage, baffled by so many deaths in our health board when figures were so low for cases, but deaths climbing. Well in Llangollen one nursing home 15 died, 56 infected 33 staff infected. That explains it They bloody well kept that quiet.

I wonder this too. Is there still a Tuesday meeting with the PM, or at least a conversation?
TheOrchidKiller · 20/11/2020 18:29

Free flu jabs for the over-50s? Hahahahahaha!
DH's employers said all staff could have a free flu jab this year so he filled in their online form. It got rejected because he's over-50. GP practice hasn't got any. He's been ringing the local pharmacies for weeks & offering to pay but they have none either.

Christmas decorations banned at work, "because of covid." Miserable bastards.Angry

@Iheartmysmart

Weasels are quite sweet, Matt Hancock is just a slimy little cunt.
Nah, A dick, A prick, an arse something of that ilk

He doesn't deserve the compliment of being part of female anatomy.

MercyBooth · 20/11/2020 18:37

Christmas decs have been banned in the hallways and communal living rooms of flats for the last 3 years because of Grenfell.

I'd go with flaccid cock. Has ambitions, but rather useless.

DCs managed to get their nasal sprays through school.
GP didn't ring back about DS2's inhalers. Was sent a text with 2 hour window for a call... nada. The trouble with inhalers is that it's hard to judge how much is in them.

Which is ironic as it's not the flammable internals that caused the issues...

As for Covid risk, I could understand banning mistletoe, but people don't normally sniff or lick tinsel and foil.

"Nah, A dick, A prick, an arse something of that ilk"
I won't tell you what some of my colleagues were planning to do to him today. It got quite dark.

"Christmas decs have been banned in the hallways and communal living rooms of flats for the last 3 years because of Grenfell."
See, that's a reasonable assumption, that Christmas decorations could be a fire hazard. But to use covid as a reason to not have them just pisses me off. We've been allowed, & positively encouraged, to have them every other year.

110APiccadilly · 20/11/2020 18:57

My DH also turned down his flu jab this year, due to being fed up with/not trusting the government. (I haven't had one either, but I'm only eligible because of pregnancy and baby will be here before flu season really kicks off, so it didn't really feel like I needed one.)

TheOrchidKiller · 20/11/2020 18:58

Re repeat prescriptions.
It used to be that we couldn't re-order anything over the phone. It was considered too dangerous, someone might make a mistake. It entailed either applying for an online password (which involved a trip to the surgery with ID) to order online, or taking the repeat form into the surgery in person.

Since March it's suddenly become ok to order repeat items by phone. "YOU MUST NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE!" they say when you ring up, "What would you like? DON'T COME DOWN HERE!"
The medication magically appears at the pharmacy 2 days later.

This is the only upside to this endless nightmare.

Yep Tokenism To make it look like they are doing something. See closing hairdressers when the spread isnt coming from there. Seems to be a thing. Looks like numbers in my area may have gone up. I think the reason for this is ppl were angry at a. being put in tier 2 when there was no need to be (council greed) then lockdown. I dont know this for sure but maybe more ppl are starting to flout the rules a bit now because they are angry. Cases were low here until all this. It makes a sort of sense to me. Thoughts?

TheOrchidKiller · 20/11/2020 19:12

There is consternation in the local rag about an increase in cases in a "naice" part of the neighbourhood. One resident is quoted as saying that it can't possibly be the people living there that are the cause, "it must be coming in from [insert name of large, deprived inner city estate a couple of miles away]." Shock
Nice lady goes on to say they are all quite happy "in our little bubble".
Crack on then, love. Keep yer windows shut incase it blows in on a strong wind.

NeedWineNow · 20/11/2020 19:13

Yes Twat Flaccidcock!

How long before they call him that on Gogglebox!

MercyBooth · 20/11/2020 19:16

@TheOrchidKiller what a snobby cow.

TheOrchidKiller · 20/11/2020 19:33

Twat Flaccidcock!
Excellent.

@MercyBooth
Snobby cow, indeed. It has completely escaped her that there are 4 schools in the immediate area, and a MASSIVE care home!

MercyBooth · 20/11/2020 19:44

Twat Flaccidcock

Small dick energy Grin

ISaySteadyOn · 20/11/2020 19:47

@TheOrchidKiller, what a twit.

I apologise to all weasels for referring to Matt Hancock as such. They are more intelligent and useful. I blame it on the Brian Jacques books I read in my youth.

I think some of my views have solidified. You can't stop living in order to prevent death, but that's what we're being asked to do. And it's wrong.

My thoughts are - winter virus.

All the posh skiing set brought it to Chelsea and Westminster in February.
MercyBooth · 20/11/2020 20:04

Oh of course So the winter virus is also a coronavirus and the tests are flagging that up?

AcornAutumn · 20/11/2020 20:12

Well, these sorts of viruses do increase in the cold months, so yes, that’s what I think.

When I say winter virus, I do think this will become part of life like flu, but I’m not a doctor!
