Good things about Biden?

Aside that he isn't Trump?

I'm very happy the orange misogynist has lost, but haven't heard or read a single good policy or reason to be excited about Biden.

Anyone who knows more and is excited about a Biden win not just a Trump loss, please could you come on and explain why?

@Bluntness100

Do you only want positives, because the videos doing the rounds on Twitter, Iof how “friendly” he is with young girls has really disturbed me.
Then stop being taken in by faked up shite & spreading the bullshit.
raskolnikova · 07/11/2020 22:32

January 2021: queues of thousands of lorries, thousands of businesses trying to figure out which boxes to tick on the customs forms, IT systems still not ready, UK citizens no longer have FOM, don't know WTF is going to happen in the Irish Sea...

"Yeah but Corbyn."
Hmm

FenellaVelour · 07/11/2020 22:34

@Muminabun

He is widely considered to have dementia He has a credible sex assault allegation He is considered corrupt and part of the swamp and in china’s pocket along with Hunter. He has said some really stupid things about black people. Honestly I think trump was the lesser of two evils.
This has literally all been said - and often viably - against Trump.

Bit much @WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants, it's not enough to say This Is Lies, Cos I Say So.
You need to give evidence.
Trump had a big hand in creating the post truth world we're in, he is not the only one sure, but its definitely going to bea big part of his legacy.

That being as it is, it's up to all of us to try and clean up this mess. Try to be truthful, try to unpick fact from bias, try to back up.our statements.

We will barely notice the difference over the next 4 years if narratives and bias are treated the same as objective fact, we all need to do the work - imo .

Queenoftheashes · 07/11/2020 22:39

@Inchargeofcupsandice

Best thing: He'll retire fairly soon into his term and they will have a female leader!
Yes this is what I was gonna say. Except I’m assuming he’ll die rather than retire.
Nancydrawn · 07/11/2020 22:51

While a senator he wrote the Violence Against Women Act, which provides significant funding to help prevent, investigate, and prosecute violence against women. He also pushed for sexual assault prevention on college campuses while VP.

He has supported extensive gun control measures throughout his career, including writing/co-sponsoring assault weapons bans and bans on guns on school property.

He's good on the environment and wrote one of the first climate change bills in US politics. Opposed and opposes drilling in federal reserves, helped to push through climate policy, and wants to bring the US back to the Paris Treaty.

Plus, everyone I know who knows him (and there are a few) says that he is a lovely and decent man.

Nancydrawn · 07/11/2020 22:52

(I'm not claiming BFF status! Far from it. But people I know/trust who do know himagain, not BFFs, but have interacted/worked/etc. with himsay that.)

GlummyMcGlummerson · 07/11/2020 22:54

The videos of him being inappropriate with young girls are NOT fake, they are filmed photo ops and they have been defended by Democrats who should know better.

It's a shame @MNHQ saw fit to take down a thread about his inappropriate conduct with little girls earlier, because I really think it's in people's interest to know the full picture about Biden.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 07/11/2020 22:55

@Tadpolesandfroglets

The video has already been proven to be doctored and fake truth....
No it hasn't, Democrats have spoken openly about it defending it. It's was a photo opportunity organised by the Democrat party.
7Days · 07/11/2020 23:00

Yup.
Just cos Trump is gone, doesnt mean fake news and media bias is over.
We all need to be vigilant about it, imo.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 07/11/2020 23:05

However it would be nice if we would stop what is nothing short of a Holocaust from ICE, the way they imprison migrants (and often American citizens) in substandard accommodation with no right to legal representation, where women are raped and children are taken from their parents - is revolting. It needs to stop and I can barely believe it is happening in a supposedly developed country in this day and age.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 07/11/2020 23:05

*he would

7Days · 07/11/2020 23:09

I hope he looks into that immediately- mind you, this all started in Obama's time, whole he was second in command.

Regardless, its inhumane and a proper immigration system needs to be implemented.

CormoranStrikesANoteofDoom · 07/11/2020 23:10

He seems decent
He seems sane
I trust Barack Obama’s judgement in choosing him

AliceBlueGown · 07/11/2020 23:17

He's not Trump and at the moment that is enough.

ThousandsAreSailing · 07/11/2020 23:50

The holding young women and girls too high on the waist, the vice like grip as he pulls them towards him, the sniffing until they are clearly uncomfortable
If this is false how has it been created?

Butterfly3105 · 08/11/2020 00:06

Does anyone know when Biden's victory speech will be on?

Nancydrawn · 08/11/2020 00:13

8.00 PM EST (so about 45 minutes).

Butterfly3105 · 08/11/2020 00:20

@Nancydrawn Thank you! I want to pop open a bottle of champagne

Nancydrawn · 08/11/2020 00:22

I hear you!

Nancydrawn · 08/11/2020 01:21

(They are, unsurprisingly, running late.)

HeddaGarbled · 08/11/2020 01:25

Boris is going to be less keen on a no-deal Brexit.

Figgyboa · 08/11/2020 01:29

He's professional.
He will re-sign the Paris climate agreement.
He will support DACA
He won't continue the 'wall' nonsense
I could continue.....

TheSandman · 08/11/2020 01:37

He's a politician. He knows how the system works. He knows how to work the system. Trump didn't.

When the plane is crashing you want a qualified pilot in the cockpit not some clown who thinks he knows he can fly a plane because saw Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines when he was a kid.

wowfudge · 08/11/2020 08:49

I woke in the night and watch Biden's speech. It was powerful and set the tone. Whether he can deliver we will see, but there was no gloating, it was highly diplomatic and statesmanlike. What a contrast with Trump.
