Good things about Biden?

Aside that he isn't Trump?

I'm very happy the orange misogynist has lost, but haven't heard or read a single good policy or reason to be excited about Biden.

Anyone who knows more and is excited about a Biden win not just a Trump loss, please could you come on and explain why?

Totally agree. Today and forever... 😂

Cosmos123 · 07/11/2020 20:35

We are at the back of the queue for a trade deal.

wowfudge · 07/11/2020 20:35

His communications during the ballot counting process show he is worlds away from Trump: safe pair of hands with a kick ass woman VP.

All of the above. Sure he's not perfect but he's the president now and he has plenty going for him.

Don't believe the propaganda of Trump and the Murdoch press (before they ditched Trump of course).

travailtotravel · 07/11/2020 20:36

He speaks in coherent sentences. The sentences are calm, use facts. He seems to understand a wide range of views. He's not Trump.

ktp100 · 07/11/2020 20:36

He has a heart and a soul, so that trumps Trump straight off!

He gives a shit about things other than money, he'll take Covid a million times more seriously, he won't force chlorinated chicken on us or try to steal the NHS plus, and I cannot stress this enough, Kamala Harris!!!!

Cosmos123 · 07/11/2020 20:37

He talks about issues and the country not himself and great he is.

Pyewhacket · 07/11/2020 20:38

I’m no Trump fan but he was pro UK and would have cut us a good deal. Biden hates the UK and will do everything to fuck us over. I don’t see that as something to celebrate. I also don’t see him lasting a full term. He’s not all there most of the time.

Bluntness100 · 07/11/2020 20:40

Do you only want positives, because the videos doing the rounds on Twitter, Iof how “friendly” he is with young girls has really disturbed me.

OddHoleySocks · 07/11/2020 20:40

Trump would not have cut us a good deal either. And the fact that a US deal might take longer means that the powers that be might have to actually try for a deal with the EU, which is much more important imo.

Raindropsonrosesand · 07/11/2020 20:43

He seems to have integrity. That's a big thing.

He also seems keen to rebuild consensus and heal the fear-driven divisions Trump has created.

I wasn't particularly inspired by him during his campaign, but very much hope he's a steady pair of hands to steer things back in the right direction.

Hadn't seen that anti-apartheid speach Oxana. That's very cool!

Tadpolesandfroglets · 07/11/2020 20:44

The video has already been proven to be doctored and fake truth....

Tadpolesandfroglets · 07/11/2020 20:44

Fake news!

Flowerblue · 07/11/2020 20:45

He seems like a reasonable, sane and ordinary person. Also better for climate change.

luckylavender · 07/11/2020 20:48

@Inchargeofcupsandice - of course he won't!

frumpety · 07/11/2020 20:48

Experience, years and years of it, plus all the relationships forged over those years. You can be as bigly and orange as you like, but what and who Biden knows is worth a hell of a lot more.

ASchuylerSister · 07/11/2020 20:48

Respects women? Have you seen the number of women who have made allegations of sexual assault/creepy behaviour against Biden?

somelemons · 07/11/2020 20:49

He isn't Trump.

Everything else is irrelevant.

nimbuscloud · 07/11/2020 20:50

What does this mean for Ireland? Biden won't sign a trade deal that threatens the good friday agreement? Is that it?

This.
I would think Boris Johnson will be scrambling to get a deal with the EU - President-elect Biden will be very much on the side of the Republic of Ireland.

Raindropsonrosesand · 07/11/2020 20:51

Can you link to a news account of the video being falsified @tadpolesandfroglets? I couldn't find anything about that

(although did find news articles showing that a video portraying him as a white supremacist was doctored, and also that he told a story about being arrested on the way to see Mandela which was not true)

raskolnikova · 07/11/2020 20:52

A US-UK trade deal sounds horrific, so hopefully we won't get one.

Chlorinated chicken? No thanks.

Muminabun · 07/11/2020 20:53

He is widely considered to have dementia
He has a credible sex assault allegation
He is considered corrupt and part of the swamp and in china’s pocket along with Hunter.
He has said some really stupid things about black people.
Honestly I think trump was the lesser of two evils.

weebarra · 07/11/2020 20:54

He's vastly experienced and will have many contacts. Hopefully he will surround himself with useful advisers and will have a capable VP.

Tadpolesandfroglets · 07/11/2020 20:56

There’s loads of stuff but this is a start..... www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/aug/12/facebook-posts/fact-checking-pedophilia-attacks-against-joe-biden/ I’ll try and find the original article I read.
