Good. His arrogance and refusal to apologise (ever, for anything) has come back to bite him.

@MrsNotNice

isn’t the Torie front bench more diverse than corbyns crew?!

A bunch of non-whites with inferiority complex pandering to white supremacy is a very clever tactic to suppress the sound of diversity without being accused of racism..

That's a racist dismissal of those non white MPs. You may not like their political leanings but that doesn't mean they don't have a right to those leanings. They are not defined solely by their ethnic background or skin colour. They are individuals.

The racism aimed at them has been shocking. Sajid Javid experienced dreadful racist insults from the far left, and as for the racist and misogynistic abuse thrown at Priti Patel. It's shameful. That's on top of the anti-Semitism. None of it is ok.

MrsNotNice · 29/10/2020 22:38

The racists start with Jews and come for others next.

Not really. The racists starts with whoever is in front of them. Doesn’t have to start with Jews. There are racist Jews too you know that right ?

You picking on a word that I used sarcastically to denote the rediculous effort to showcase the Conservative party as non racists.. and taken it out of context from my post.. is a reflection of you not me or my words.

I say that as a “non white” myself.

And having been accused of being anti-Semitic merely for stating my account of Palestinian history and refusing to deny my own identity over the years .. is what motivates me to not jump up to believe this accusation without factual evidence whixh I still cannot see.

I mean, I like Mr Corbyn was accused of being an entisemite by default. Before I was even born.

What I see is a bunch of people who choose to exploit the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for their own political agendas.

Disgusting to be honest.

I don’t think antisemitism is the problem most Have with Corbyn. I think it’s his political vision which is a fair thing to criticise.

But to use the sufferings of other people to score points is disgusting..

SheepandCow · 29/10/2020 22:42

The Conservative candidate for London Mayor, Shaun Bailey, is black. He has experienced racism directed at him because of being a Tory. I won't repeat the words here because they're nasty.

Criticise the policies, not the individuals, and don't be so racist as to assume all people from diverse backgrounds think the same. Don't tell them how to vote or think.

Astonishing
Fucket · 29/10/2020 22:45

I will vote labour the day they adopt a female leader, who got their on merit and not on some quota. Never been a Tory voter but even I’m aware they’ve given our country two female prime ministers.

Jeremy Corbyn supporting terrorist organisations was the reason I didn’t vote for Labour. His friends in the IRA nearly blew my husband up in London. No thanks.

The Labour Party are always the first to cry racism, sexism etc. It’s one of their ‘selling points’. This just goes to show it’s all crap and they really are no better than the Tories. At least you know what you’re getting with the Tories, they’re not trying to deceive us with fake sentiments of how they’ve got the minorities back. Nope they’ve just got you to think they have, to secure their vote. They don’t actually want you to progress in their party and/or life circumstances.

Blackberrycream · 29/10/2020 22:47

MrsNotNice.
I actually think there is probably not much point engaging with you. Yes. What you said was racist. It doesn’t matter who you are, you don’t get to speak about people in such a derogatory way and with specific reference to their ethnicity.
If you can’t see that, there is nothing else to say.
You are the problem indeed.

SheepandCow · 29/10/2020 22:47

MrsNotNice
Just as with BLM other people don't get to dismiss or downplay or deny black people's experiences of racism, you also don't get to dismiss or downplay or deny Jewish people's experiences of racism. Many repeatedly spoke about their experiences wrt Corbyn and the party under him.

On a separate note. Corbyn can't even wear a mask properly. He's one of those people who wears it under the nose.

blueangel19 · 29/10/2020 22:49

all Fucket well said!

blueangel19 · 29/10/2020 22:51

I know LOL he looks so grumpy too.

Pixxie7 · 29/10/2020 22:55

Keir Starmer needs to apologise for not speaking up whilst he was on the front benches. I don’t think he could do anything but to suspend Corbyn if only to distance himself from him.

bbbbbbbbbccccc · 29/10/2020 22:58

Jeremy is not an antisemite he spoke the truth today and was punished for it. Disgusting. Starmer will never have my vote. And I have voted Labour for decades.

goose124 · 29/10/2020 23:08

Corbyn is a disgrace. He's caused irreparable harm to the Labour Party and made antisemitism acceptable. For over a decade, before and after Corbyn, I've witnessed very left leaning friends on Facebook posting comments which seemed very unambiguously and unashamedly antisemitic. They seemed to think they were the face of progressive socialism, but nope...

timeforanewstart · 29/10/2020 23:11

@Blackberrycream well said

FarTooSkinny · 29/10/2020 23:16

@goose124

Corbyn is a disgrace

Totally agree. Labour need to kick our these anti-Semitic racists and turn themselves into a party that is a government in waiting. I totally blame Corbyn and his cronies for the fact we are stuck with the most incompetent and corrupt government in living memory. Labour at the last election were unelectable. Hopefully Keir can turn this around

Drivingbuttercup · 29/10/2020 23:17

So what has Corbyn actually done. why is he being called antisemitic? Has he said something that suggests he antisemitic?

bbbbbbbbbccccc · 29/10/2020 23:24

The EHRC report published today does not uphold claims that Labour under his leadership was institutionally antisemitic and provides no justification for this action taken against him.

Jeremy's statement in response to the report clearly acknowledged that there is antisemitism in the Labour Party but that “the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons by our opponents”. This is backed up by the evidence (0.3% recorded examples of antisemitism)

The decision to suspend him only clarifies further that allegations of antisemitism have been weaponised to attack Jeremy Corbyn and the left, and that Keir Starmer’s leadership
is trying to bury the legacy of Corbynism and the left in the party.

Liked antisemitic mural, said British Jews didn’t understand English irony, laid a wreath on the grave of the Munich terrorists, hung out with holocaust deniers, called Hamas his friends, did nothing to support Jewish MPs who were abused, threatened and bullied out of the party.... among other things.

I think the EHRC report looks at other things though.

bbbbbbbbbccccc · 29/10/2020 23:46

The EHRC report looks at fact and what is provable as opposed to opinion

noblegiraffe · 29/10/2020 23:50

Think what I said is pretty provable.

Absolutely this.

noblegiraffe · 29/10/2020 23:56

^Keir Starmer’s leadership

You’d better bloody hope so. Totally wiped out Labour last election and handed Boris Johnson a massive majority and free rein to do what the fuck he likes from no deal Brexit to letting poor kids go hungry. That’s the legacy of Corbynism.

bbbbbbbbbccccc · 29/10/2020 23:56

noble giraffe , nope its opinion. For example the above comment 'that British Jews didn't understand English irony' that has been attributed to Corbyn, he explained as follows : Jeremy Corbyn defended a 2013 speech in which he suggested British Zionists do not understand “English irony” after Conservative MPs reported him to the parliamentary standards watchdog over his comments.

Tory complainants argued the remark breached the members’ code of conduct and brought parliament into disrepute.

Mr Corbyn nonetheless stood behind the comments, insisting that he was referring to a specific group of “pro-Israel activists” and had not used the term Zionist as a “euphemism” for the Jewish community.

He said he had spoken at the conference to “defend the Palestinian ambassador in the face of what I thought were deliberate misrepresentations” from people “for whom English was a first language, when it isn’t for the ambassador”. So you decided to put your spin on it.

bbbbbbbbbccccc · 29/10/2020 23:59

Well actually it was Starmer that wiped out Labour in the last election with his BREXIT ref 2. This lost the red Wall seats because voters in these areas felt Labour was not listening to them. You can hold Starmer accountable for that.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/10/2020 00:04

So what has Corbyn actually done. why is he being called antisemitic?

You might want to read the report ...

noblegiraffe · 30/10/2020 00:10

insisting that he was referring to a specific group of “pro-Israel activists” and had not used the term Zionist as a “euphemism” for the Jewish community.

I’m sure it’s a total coincidence that those ‘Zionists’ were also Jewish. Hmm

What about the rest? I know how Corbyn has tried to spin them all, he really is so unlucky to be consistently in these antisemitic-looking pickles.
