He's on R4 this morning, Saturday Live, talking about coming out and of course his new book. I think this is tasteless - he talks about the upset and trauma/impact on his family, yet he has the cheek to write a book about it and plug it on national radio! Not that he is short of a bob or two, with his TV shows and We buy any car.com (that offers as little as it can get away with for your car). It seems that little will get in the way of him exploiting any opportunity to gain publicity and make money - that is the view I have of him.

I don't like trial by social media but press injunctions will create that.

unmarkedbythat · 24/10/2020 15:00

I really dislike him. I am genuinely sorry for the pain he must have been through as a man living a lie for so long and that we have an environment that meant he felt he had to. But that doesn't stop me disliking him a great deal.

BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze · 24/10/2020 15:00

How on earth can you know he feels guilt?

I suppose she’s guessing and imagining like other posters on this thread.

@stillsomewhatsheldonesque I just feel like he would be a bitchy queen and she would be part of his gang.

HardScare · 24/10/2020 15:03

I don't think his wife and kids would be concerned about him losing a job
His eldest, as a talent manager for the same agency as all of them, has vested interest in his career longevity. Did she not help manage him at some point?

Rhine · 24/10/2020 15:03

He’s lost weight because he intermittent fasts.

lynsey91 · 24/10/2020 15:18

I can't stand him and don't watch anything he is in except Dancing on Ice. I record that I fast forward his and silly giggler's bits.

When he so bravely came out (ha ha) I thought it was said that he knew he was gay when he got married. If that is the case why now decide to divorce her? He could have split with her any time or even still stay with her now.

I too think he is a horrible man and definitely think he came out because a story was about to be printed about him.

CherryRipe1 · 24/10/2020 15:21

A work colleague had the dubious pleasure aeons ago of having to handle a customer service related complaint from him. He was ranting and raving, being totally rude and unreasonable. The issue he had made him come across as privileged & entitled even then some 30 years back!. We earmarked him as a nightmare customer along with a few other slebs.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 24/10/2020 15:25

@Georgeoftheinternet

I daresay that one could hold her own in the bitchy stakes.

I wonder how they managed to silence him in the end?

BertieBloopsMum · 24/10/2020 15:59

@SpectralPlot

I wonder how they managed to silence him in the end?
The usual, I should think. Money.
SadieBaneso · 24/10/2020 16:16

When he was first on tv about 30 years ago, a gay friend told me Schofield was gay as they’d been in the same circle of friends in Newquay in the 80s and he was out on the gay scene there and had been in a relationship with a mutual friend at one point. He obviously wasn’t hiding it back then.

areyoubeingserviced · 24/10/2020 16:21

I can’t bear him.
Everyone and their dog knew that he was gay.
The only ‘surprise ‘ was that he was married.
He’s conceited and extremely irritating prick.

Mydogmylife · 24/10/2020 16:25

@DrDreReturns

Perhaps he's going to give he royalties from his book to his wife...
Aye right!
areyoubeingserviced · 24/10/2020 16:49

Btw - whatever he’s hiding will come out. He can have as many super injunctions as he likes. He can’t hide his secrets forever

SchadenfreudePersonified · 24/10/2020 18:14

@stillsomewhatsheldonesque

I fear Gordon would disagree.

He was far superior.

I agree - Gordon was the talented one in that partnership,
kazillionaire · 24/10/2020 18:30

How many other celebrities have written books? All about their lives and traumas and many relationships, this is not different unless its the fact that he announced that he is gay that you have the issue with?

0896756453314a · 24/10/2020 18:30

Weight loss doesn't equate to going through a lot

It's a common sign that someone is stressed or ill, though. It's circumstantial evidence to back up his story

OhioOhioOhio · 24/10/2020 18:46

So who does watch him on the tele? It really baffles me why there are so many deserved of being actual 'has beens' who are still raking in the limelight and cash.

user1471538283 · 24/10/2020 19:11

I knew he was always gay. Why does he think anyone cares? He is desperate to remain relevant and in doing so has hung his wife out to dry.

Janegrey333 · 24/10/2020 19:23

Yes, who does watch him and the giggling sidekick? I cannot bear morning or any daytime television so I certainly don’t. They really do seem to be full of themselves, by all accounts. Dreadful characters.

Janegrey333 · 24/10/2020 19:23

No one. Cares. The. End.

randomer · 24/10/2020 19:26

Im going through a lot and I have piled on a stone. Boo bloody hoo.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 24/10/2020 20:02

I think society has become very sick of famous men who are found to have exploited vulnerable young men or women with everyone around them knowing full well what's going on. I think it says a lot about PS that he is pushing on with this book despite the pages and pages of discussion online about his behaviour.
