He's on R4 this morning, Saturday Live, talking about coming out and of course his new book. I think this is tasteless - he talks about the upset and trauma/impact on his family, yet he has the cheek to write a book about it and plug it on national radio! Not that he is short of a bob or two, with his TV shows and We buy any car.com (that offers as little as it can get away with for your car). It seems that little will get in the way of him exploiting any opportunity to gain publicity and make money - that is the view I have of him.

And has various guests.the one with Philip Schofield is bizarre.

Listen, but he makes you feel nauseous have a bucket next to you.

Celebrities don't write books, they have their face on the front and name on it but they've had it written for them. They just give rough info which the writer expands on

The story goes that he’d been having a long running relationship with the young runner, Matthew who was only 23. It turned sour and Matthew was kicked off the show and moved to Loose Women instead, he was well liked on TM and Ruth, Eamon and Rylan were all really cross about how he was treated. The press got wind of it and started writing stories about Schofield bullying people behind the scenes, this is all came to a head around about Christmas 2019.

Popbitch claimed that Schofield hired a PR crisis management firm to defuse the situation. Shortly after he ‘came out’. But as Joan Collins said everyone knew anyway. I’m not sure if his hand was forced or if he did it as a way of taking back control? I think his wife has always known personally.

Everyone knew he was gay as early as 1992. People in the industry were bemused as to why he went through the whole getting married and having kids thing when he was obviously and openly gay.

I imagine he waited for his daughters to grow up before coming out to the rest of the world.

You don’t ditch your family, come out on the etc - if you’ve not fully committed.

Some do. Alan Sugar did, it was good too.

A ghost written book can also be authentic as long as enough time and care is taken with it.

Paul O’Gradys are all fab and if he didn’t write them he had a very good ghost writer as you can hear his voice as you are reading them

Which is fine when it comes to autobiographies, a lot of autobiographies are ghost written by celebrities and non-celebrities. But when people like Katie Price and Zoella bring out fiction books and pretend to have worst ten then it drives me mad. Not your words, not your ideas, you just sign your name and take the cash and the credit. It’s insane.

Why do "gay" people even feel the need to tell everyone, in todays papers, Teacher, oh, so brave in coming out. I really couldnt care less about someones sexual preferences, have often had gay best mates, far more sympathetic than my female ones. Over my years Nursing, a lot of women confided in me, they were married to gay blokes,(they were not aware at the time, anymore than I was) not one was happy, they were mostly embarassed, and were continuing the marriage not wanting friends and family to find out.
