Does anyone remember Handbag.com

It was probably early to mid 2000s? It was an online women's magazine site but most people used the forums? It was such a busy place, much like mumsnet with a variety of discussions. I used to love the personalised avatars (which helped recognise posters straight away) and enjoyed whiling away the hours at work on there even making some friends. This was all before social media so was my go to. Not sure why it died a death, it went from being a thriving women's chat site to being completely dead and now long gone. I wonder if there are any old handbaggers on here? ;)

I was Littlemissnaughty01 (I think), in my student days! I wasn’t very ‘popular’ - I was only 19/20 and mostly in awe of other who definitely ‘had their sh!t together’ (at least fashion and beauty wise....possibly not from what I’m reading here re Relationships!)

I whiled away many hours when I should have been writing essays either posting or more often than not, lurking.

Love the throwback URL, brings back such memories.

And to the poster who asked if anyone remembered Dotmusic - yes! Proper altar for the worship of pop music (also popbitch.com if you remember that) and James Masterton used to do a full written commentary on each week’s top 40 (back when the charts meant something!!)

I’m also friends with Naz on Facebook, she is lovely

And of course, presumably everyone on the Fashion boards remembers katkinn who has gone on to make a name for herself now.

I remember Nazneen as well - she was lovely. Also, does anyone else remember Mrs XXX - she always seemed so organised and put together to me!

I loved the Pop Bitch emails - my friend and I would spend ages trying to work out who they were gossiping about each week after the email came out.

I used to spend hours on the beauty board in 2002/3 when I had a very quiet job - for a while everyone was obsessed with Juicy Tubes! It was so trusting - all the buying and selling. I remember going to selfridges to buy a Bobbi Brown eyeliner for someone. I was never brave enough for the meets though.

Yes! I found a Lancome eyeshadow palette I bought from someone on Handbag when I was having a clearout a few weeks ago (as I must have bought this is c. 2001/2 I should probably have thrown it out a long time ago!)>

I much preferred Katkinn back in the day to her current incarnation, but she has done very well for herself so full credit where it’s due.

Did anyone use javajane (the forum, I think it was also known as TLC the ladies cafe)?
Predominantly american but a fair few English/other. I loved that forum. It had a 'sister' site called 'grabbasgirls' which was similar but not as 'nicey'.

I was a bagger and went to several meets in London that always ended up in Sway Bar or the Roundhouse. Lady Muck was lovely I met her a few times.

Was a prolific bagger for years right until the end. Hung out manly in rellies and chat.
Still in contact with quite a few and went on a few meets, miss the banter and fun.

I dabbled a little on Handbag, but the first 'proper' thing was with Babyworld, the spin off facebook group and a meeting in Leeds. Still have a few babyworlders on my facebook.
