Does anyone remember Handbag.com

It was probably early to mid 2000s? It was an online women's magazine site but most people used the forums? It was such a busy place, much like mumsnet with a variety of discussions. I used to love the personalised avatars (which helped recognise posters straight away) and enjoyed whiling away the hours at work on there even making some friends. This was all before social media so was my go to. Not sure why it died a death, it went from being a thriving women's chat site to being completely dead and now long gone. I wonder if there are any old handbaggers on here? ;)

Would you believe tellingbonebi had absolutely nothing to do with those posters posting after me. I don't think I even met cookie (night have) and there was absolutely no coordination at all! Pure confidence. But then I was opinionated AF so maybe that's what they liked. Obviously completely changed now! 😂

Just going back to earlier, yes I remember the doggy wheelchair very well. I wonder if she posts on MN? I also sometimes see posts on here that remind me of a very prominent bagger who hasn't been mentioned yet. But I reckon she'd love the publicity so I ain't gonna name her.

I was a prolific bagger, went to a few meets and met a lot of people - 99% who were lovely and still have a lot of Handbag friends on Facebook.

Ah I remember FM. He did take advice if I remember right but doing everything didn't deliver the girlfriend. Sometimes I wondered if he wanted someone to offer to meet up with him for a date he was so persistent.

Oh wow, it's so surreal seeing that screen all that pink and purple!

I remember so many of the names mentioned on here its bringing back so many memories. I only really posted in the fashion forum being so young and carefree at the time, but I did lurk a lot on the others.

Some people’s lives really did play out on Handbag.

I was on handbag mainly as a lurker and it was how I found mumsnet. Did the wedding planning chat on handbag, and John Gustagson beauty advice, then moved swiftly to mumsnet ttc and antenatal boards . I remember many of the user names mentioned, also LittleRedDragon? Which one was the Irish one who posted loads about her sex life and was went on and on about how high profile her father was? I didn't ever make it to a handbag meet up but I was tempted.
