Another frog snuck into the house, this one in my spider plant, which I hung in the master bath. DH discovered the frog on top of his shaving lotion on the skin top. Fortunately, he's not bothered. Living out in the woods it's a parade of wildlife here. We had a flock of pheasants in the yard last week.

It did get cold last night, about 2 degrees, so I had to wear gloves running for the first time this season. I'd forgotten what a bother the are. DH has drained the water connections for the two hoses, one on the deck and the other at the front of the house. So we're ready for winter.

Bakedin sounds fabulous. I looked at their website and it seems to be limited to the UK. I'll have to see if there's something comparable in the US. I'd love to get a baking box once a month.

It turns out that there are loads of subscription baking services here.

I think I'm going to ask DH Santa to get me this one for Christmas:

We bought DS(16) a BakedIn subscription for his birthday in April when we were struggling with things that he could actually do.
He paid for another 3 months himself and has asked for 6 months for Christmas so apparently a hit.

And the biscotti were great Grin

I love frogs.
Rode my horse earlier. Apparently he’d been very good all day and hadn’t bitten anyone. He had a go at biting me, but I am quite adept at dodging.

EggyPegg · 18/10/2020 19:51

I made bread! This might be too exciting for this thread, but this is my first ever loaf.

Eggy That looks great!!!

My sister sent me a foto of her first ever fila baklava and I am sitting here at the other end of the country and can watch it disappear.

We have temporarily inherited a pug, for a week whilst my daughter's friend moves house. He's very sweet, but a bit dim.

I am sewing gift bags (think trendy upcycled) basically a way of using up my large stash of fabric remnants. Drawstring so no need to wrap anything. My family is used to my weirdness.

Frownette · 18/10/2020 21:56

I'm just trying to decide between a hot chocolate or tea

mathanxiety · 18/10/2020 21:58

It's been raining hard for hours. I'll take the bin out when it stops.

jennie0412 · 18/10/2020 21:58

@Frownette unless you have marshmallows and squirty cream, definitely a cup of tea Wink.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 19/10/2020 03:32

We are looking after a friend's gerbil this week. He is very sweet and we might get our own.

Frownette · 19/10/2020 05:09

@jennie0412 that's funny, my friend was saying she liked squirty cream with hers last night (and sprinkles!)

I would really like a cup of tea right now, but temp has just dropped and I don't want to get out of bed Sad tea, bed, tea, bed...

jennie0412 · 19/10/2020 06:05

@Frownette did you get some tea yet?! Brew

Frownette · 19/10/2020 07:08

I have now! Hope you have too!

TrickyD · 19/10/2020 07:19

DH has fed the cat, who was not well last week after her vaccination, but is back to her ravenous usual self, checked the Eufy robovac to make sure she has not got stuck somewhere and brought me up a cup of tea. Usual routine.

HelloDulling · 19/10/2020 08:20

@Prokupatuscrakedatus

Hello Sorry if I missed it - what's wrong with your cat?
Kidney problems, but she’s LOADS better. Vet prepared us for the worst a few weeks ago, so we’re still nervous, but she seems really well.

The plumber has just arrived. Day 3765 of the new bathroom rolls on. Will today be the day they put in the bath? (No, of course not)

Spudlet · 19/10/2020 08:35

@Frownette At the nature reserve where I started and ended my run yesterday, they have a coffee van on Sundays. They can’t do decaf and I can’t do caffeine, so I had a hot chocolate. The guy made it with the milk foamer so it was all frothy, and then stuck two Galaxy Ripples in it, which melted and gave it a lovely gloopy layer at the bottom. It was amazing, though I definitely should have done a longer run before having it Grin I am now totally ruined for any other, lesser hot chocolates...

HandsFaceSpace · 19/10/2020 08:39

:)

My son’s under 15 “B team” (they don’t call it that, they use the name of a fierce northern tribe as a euphemism) had its first win of the season on Saturday. And DH (who never watches) watched!

soddingkitten · 19/10/2020 08:49

DS said to me this morning: “I’ve been looking at Sodding and I think he’s really buff. You know what I mean by that, don’t you? He’s really muscley.” I agreed. He is very active and lithe, so his muscles are well defined. My kitten is buff.

I forgot to order pedal bin liners. DH was annoyed that we had run out. 🤷‍♀️

sueelleker · 19/10/2020 08:51

Sodding; got any carrier bags you can use temporarily?

Frownette · 19/10/2020 08:54

@Spudlet that does sound lovely :)

Squirrel26 · 19/10/2020 09:03

I bought a hot chocolate from the ‘ice cream and hot chocolate’ man at the garden centre yesterday. It was AMAZING. I got the last one; after that he was just the ‘ice cream man’.
