There is, DramaAlpaca. If you click on your profile thingy it has the option to delete your account. Unless you have an app version of it or something? They can be glitchy.

I had a look early on, but left after the BLM thread which I found incredibly racist - many posters denied that they had posted racist opinions. Maybe it was the smaller pool of posters, maybe the site just attracted them?!, I don't know, but for me, on that thread, they couldn't see their inherent racism and I found it disgusting.

Mumsnet is not perfect, but perhaps with its bigger audience there is a wider range of opinions.

Also Mumschat just seemed intent on explicitly copying and recreating this site - kinda redundant.

Good riddance. I found it an unpleasant, spiteful, racist place.

I hope they do destroy users' personal information. There's nowhere on the site that allows you to deregister, which I attempted to do when I realised it wasn't a site I wanted to be associated with. The email I sent to the administrators to deregister me and destroy my details was ignored.

That's another reason I'd never knowingly go to places just for a "nosey". You don't know what the site is, who runs it. Like the offshoot Twitter one all the nasty shite ran off to when they started cracking down on users and banning. Best off left to fester there instead of out on more well known boards sucking more innocent/curious/etc people in.

I've heard a few people complain the admin on there has ignored all emails to destroy any personal data held.

It mainly attracted posters who had been banned from MN - if you think MN is bad, just imagine a forum comprised primarily of those that MN won't tolerate.

The racism was appalling, the conspiracy theories absolutely batshit, and the spamming of boards on here like Infertility to try and drum up traffic were utterly unconscionable.

Not sure the users were all posters previously banned here although some were. They seemed cocky about it in many of their posts.

Some admitted they had been too scared to post here on Mumsnet. Can’t imagine why.

The black and white minstrel picture was posted by one person and roundly condemned as racist by all other posters - totally out of order. For those on here who are interested, the site is up and running again and, if you scroll through with an open mind, you will find some very supportive and caring threads - "I am able to roll over and show my soft underbelly without fear of a kicking".

It’s sad and toxic- I can’t imagine being so bored and obsessed as to be on a spin off sub which monitors others on mumsnet. Lonely and often mischievous people.

Isn’t it unbelievable that anyone in the 2020 would think that was acceptable? The poster who did that only did it because he thought he could. He may have thought he was with like minded people. It was a racist thing to do and he should have been ignored by all the posters from then on. He wasn’t.

It was not ‘roundly condemned by all posters’.
There was a considerable Tumbleweed Moment, some virtual throat clearing and shuffling and one or two “hey, not cool” comments.

But as you say, it’s up and running for people to check for themselves. I would warn there is a particularly horrible video of animal cruelty on that thread too, however.

I agree with you. I don't want to join but there are obviously some good threads over there that people enjoy.
If the main protagonists could just drop all this continual MN stuff and stop copy and pasting threads from here to ridicule, and nasty posts about MNers, it might well encourage others to join and make it successful.

Or they need to face the fact, the money in the meter is going to run out again, and they might lose it.
