If he was a decent person I'd be wishing him well. He's not. I'm not.

frumpety · 02/10/2020 08:09

I wonder how many of his supporters believe Covid is a hoax ?

Cornettoninja · 02/10/2020 08:10

@MagicSummer

Whether you like him or despise him, remember he is a fellow human being. I think it is wicked to wish him dead. I hope he and Melania are both OK.
I wish him nothing - no ill, no good. Complete neutrality. He’s a big boy who needs neither from the likes of me.

Melania however, well I’ve seen a report she’s showing symptoms so I hope she has peace and space to recover.

FFSFFSFFS · 02/10/2020 08:11

I would not be surprised if its not true.

SexTrainGlue · 02/10/2020 08:11

UK starts at additional risk from obesity as thise at BMI 40 or higher.

ITV has helpfully taken Trump's last reported weight and turned it into BMI, and it's 30.5.

amieejust · 02/10/2020 08:14

Wouldn't surprise me if it's another lie or publicity stunt.

Namechange313 · 02/10/2020 08:15

@MagicSummer

I agree, this site is filled with grown adults that underneath it all are acting like playground children. Wishing someone dead because you don’t like them (I don’t like him either) it’s incredibly immature to wish him the worst because he shares different views to you.

Weird people

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 02/10/2020 08:17

I don’t think he is positive-it’s just spin to make him look like super strong and like he is actually so super healthy not even COVID is a challenge to him.

TeddyIsaHe · 02/10/2020 08:17

He shares different views? I don't wish harm on anyone that has a different opinion, but Trump is so far past that it can’t even be used as an example.

The man is a dangerous, evil cunt and deserves everything that comes to him.

Rhine · 02/10/2020 08:18

@Roussette

I'm not wishing him dead. I didn't Johnson either. I don't wish anyone dead so please don't assume all of us on this thread are doing that.
I don’t wish him dead. But I can’t help but think it’s karma after the dismissive way he’s behaved regarding he virus.
Notonthestairs · 02/10/2020 08:18

He told a white supremacist group to "stand by".
I'm not at all surprised that people wish him ill.

Roussette · 02/10/2020 08:22

Rhine
Totally agree.

But it is rather convenient. Given he lies for a pastime, I question the veracity of this

And I will just leave this here. From Tuesday's Debate. Trump and his views on masks.
Hope Hicks who passed it on (apparently) and Trump and others all walking to the helicopter close proximity inside. No masks.
This footage sums it up.
Karma indeed if it's true

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 02/10/2020 08:25

Ah, if only he had said no to a test. He would have been safe!

Too much testing is the real problem after all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

rosiethehen · 02/10/2020 08:28

I'm inclined to think it's not true.

However, if it is, I hope it sees him off. No loss to the world at all.

turnitonagain · 02/10/2020 08:28

@Aesopfable

He’s an obese man in his late 70s. The statistics are not in his favour for a mild case.

Actually, yes they still are. Obese men over 70 are at higher risk but he is still much more likely to survive it than die of it,

I didn’t say he won’t survive. He may get very ill though and he has all the risk factors.
Livelovebehappy · 02/10/2020 08:32

Not a big fan, but wouldn’t wish anyone to get Covid and potentially die. I think you’d have to be a bit unhinged to wish it on anyone tbh.

daisychain01 · 02/10/2020 08:32

@MagicSummer

Whether you like him or despise him, remember he is a fellow human being. I think it is wicked to wish him dead. I hope he and Melania are both OK.
Fellow human being? I absolutely reject that I have anything whatsoever in common with DT. He completely lacks even so much of a trace of humanity.
eaglejulesk · 02/10/2020 08:34

Whether you like him or despise him, remember he is a fellow human being. I think it is wicked to wish him dead. I hope he and Melania are both OK.

Well said. Those who wish him ill are showing themselves up as no better than he is tbh.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 02/10/2020 08:37

An excuse for election failure, possibly.

He's a proven liar, and the last medical report he had sounded... a bit gushing... so wouldn't say there are no medics who can't be persuaded to spin doubt into fact.

He's been pissing about since March so it does seem very convenient that it is only now that he catches it. Just in time to avoid the exam.

Funny that people around the world are now having to have stern words with themselves for thinking bad thoughts. Even when he's (possibly) ill he manages to make the day a little grubbier for everyone.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 08:38

@felineflutter

I think this thread is inappropriate and in poor taste and have reported.
You think it's inappropriate to discuss the leading news item on every medium? The 'Leader of the free world' is possibly ill and you think we should all wish him well or keep stum, ignoring the fact that he himself has not behaved this way to others, and has undoubtedly failed to prevent avoidable deaths and longterm health problems for hundreds of thousands of Americans, not just from Covid, from his failure to ensure everyone can get decent health care. OK.
OP posts:
GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 02/10/2020 08:39

Such sanctimony.

Trump is morally bankrupt.

It's hardly a surprise people aren't falling over themselves to wish him well.

turnitonagain · 02/10/2020 08:39

Well said. Those who wish him ill are showing themselves up as no better than he is tbh.

No one on MN is worse than a man when told 100K had died of Covid under his watch as president said “It is what it is.” His ineptitude and lack of care have caused untold ruin.

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 08:41

I bet he wins now because of this. People will feel sorry for him.

TooTrueToBeGood · 02/10/2020 08:41

@AutumnleavesturntoGold

Hicks has it, he's been in close proximity with her. It doesn't surprise me at all. Official doctors have signed this off, they would be I imagine bound by oaths as ours are.
The doctors won't have analysed the tests themselves though, will they? Even if the people who do the lab analysis are above corruption it would be trivially easy to swap out the swabs/samples with infected ones before they get to the labs. I would expect it's trivially easy to cook the books on this one if he wanted to.
AlternativePerspective · 02/10/2020 08:42

I don’t believe for one second that it’s true.

Exactly fourteen days before the next debate. he will be able to emerge having had no symptoms (because he didn’t actually have the virus) and be able to claim the moral high ground in being right about COVID and how harmless it is.

Unless he actually is seriously ill I won’t believe that it’s true.

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 08:43

I bet he's spread it through the WH as well.
What will happen if he dies?

As much as I dislike him I wouldn't wish covid or ill health on anyone.
