If he was a decent person I'd be wishing him well. He's not. I'm not.

OP posts:

@thecatsatonthewall

If he was doing this for a sympathy vote, I am not sure how much sympathy he would get. Bojo didn't get much sympathy

The tories would probably win a GE if held tomo, certainly the biggest party.
Being responsible for large numbers of deaths doesn't seem to be a bar to getting reelected.

Do you really think so?

Sir Keir Starmer, former human rights lawyer, seems like a genuinely exemplary individual. I think people can't quite believe a real candidate has stepped up. We are so used to flimsy loons and jokes of politicians.

I think the stories would lose.

blueangel19 · 02/10/2020 09:36

The hateful comments here just get to show the double standards of the people who makes them.

lunalulu · 02/10/2020 09:36

Tories not stories!

And as for Donald T - yes in the worst demographic, but then is insanely rich and powerful so nobody could get better care. Perhaps he will govern from ICU. Who knows.

I don't wish him ill. If he survives, I hope it shakes him up.

I agree. I’ve never seen a thread like it on MN. Feel like I’m on some crank facebook page.
KenAdams · 02/10/2020 09:38

@JamieLeeCurtains

Boris pulled through, people got over it and remembered to loathe him again.
The thing is though, when he was fresh off the back of it, people still had sympathy for him. It's as time went on a bit that people stopped caring. Trumps sympathy should last just long enough for the election.
Echobelly · 02/10/2020 09:39

No good will come of it. If it's mild/asymptomatic he'll just claim this proves it's nothing, as only his experiences matter.

If he has it badly and recovers he'll spin it as doctors telling him that only really strong people get bad covid but obviously his great genes fought it off, but ordinary people will just get normal covid which is just like a cold... Hmm

fridascruffs · 02/10/2020 09:39

I don't hope he dies. I hope he lives and loses to a landslide. That is the particular retribution I wish for him. But he will probably be the next President whether he wins the election or not.

IDontLikeZombies · 02/10/2020 09:39

One of the lesser known side effects of CV19 is that it makes your hair fall out. There is an effect known as telogenic effluvium (?sp) where illness can shift the growth cycle to the end of its life and the hair falls out.
I don't want to wish anyone debilitated or dead but it would be highly karmic to see that big orange shite hawk in a tizzy over being patchily bald.

God help America, though. There's a lot of good people in what is rapidly becoming a very bad place.

BloggersBlog · 02/10/2020 09:41

It isnt just going to stay with DT and MT though is it, chances are high that Baron will have it, all his kids actually and now could pass it on to his grandchildren.
That is where this could be really sad for them

alreadytaken · 02/10/2020 09:41

stories is actually quite apt for people who lie almost as often as they open their mouths.

It is probably in the best interest of Americans for Trump to die as that might make his supporters become more responsible. That is not to say I wish him dead - but I do wish him seriously ill as otherwise more people will die.

Yes, I agree he'll wank on about how his incredibly powerful immune system attacked the chyyyyyna virus bigly, it attacked the virus too hard, and the doctors had never seen anything like it, it was just amazing, I'm telling you it was amazing.
thecatsatonthewall · 02/10/2020 09:44

Do you really think so?

Yes i do, by 2024, CV will be a distant memory

Sir Keir Starmer, former human rights lawyer, seems like a genuinely exemplary individual. I think people can't quite believe a real candidate has stepped up. We are so used to flimsy loons and jokes of politicians

Brown, Miliband were both decent individuals with moderate policies, the MSM turned on them and they will on starmer too.

I think the tories would lose

UK is a racist right wing country, with illusions of humanity, just like the USA, So, Biden is only just ahead in the 'polls against a lunatic.

Look at the comments on this thread wishing DT dead.

Windywendys · 02/10/2020 09:47

I still don’t think the Torres would lose. They have invested millions in to keeping businesses afloat and they still are, Mine included. I’m forever grateful for that. They also payed for furlough which stopped millions of people losing their homes and put mortgage holidays in place.

I was a life long labour supporter as were my family. We left labour over the shit show of the trans issue and GC is still intensely disliked. The damage he done to labour will take years to forget.

Exactly
frumpety · 02/10/2020 09:52

To be fair @Windywendys it wasn't the Tories own money that they have spent on furlough etc and we will all have to pay it back at some point in the future.

alreadytaken · 02/10/2020 09:52

Corbyn was a disaster - he was also, apparently, the one who suggested furlough. The people who will be paying most for this will be those least able to do so if the stories do stay in power.

GaryUnicorn · 02/10/2020 09:53

For those of you rejoicing in someone having a serious illness, and those of you wishing him dead - you’re no better than him.

Yes he's gonna get on like he is James Bond.
I hope he gets a good dose of norovirus this winter. And telogenic effluvium (thanks Idon'tlikezombies) .

TeddyIsaHe · 02/10/2020 09:56

You what?? Are you high?

I love my life like a normal person, not stoking up right-wing mania, locking children in cages, murdering people that could cause WW3, and generally not being a giant orange maniac.

JC would have zero input in to what the Tory do, that’s so odd.

GrinGrin
That would be funny.

I think it could give him a fright and change his attitude and response to the threat covid is.

thecatsatonthewall · 02/10/2020 10:02

Agree, people will take no notice of the collapse in our public services, the privatisation of the NHS, the deaths in CH's, the shortages and price increases caused by Brexit, growing health and wealth inequality and vote right wing.... blaming it all on Jeremy Corbyn, just as Hilary Clinton is blamed by many in the US.

Prediction: Trump will win in November and the Tories will win the next GE.

frumpety · 02/10/2020 10:03

It must have aggrieved JC massively to see the Tories turn Socialist just a few months after losing the election.

GlottalStrop · 02/10/2020 10:08

My first reaction this morning was - how absolutely obvious - such a short time to the elections and this happens??

He saw Boris's popularity rise when he fell ill.

One month to the elections?

If you believe this I feel so sorry for you. America, if you let yourself be duped by this, you're fucked.

Windywendys · 02/10/2020 10:10

just as Hilary Clinton is blamed by many in the US

Eh? Hillary Clinton is just as bent as trump.
