Guess how much DH weighs

So I am going to add DH (with his permission!) to the Zoe app which is helping researchers track what’s going on with Covid in real time (you report whether you feel well/unwell every day).

However, to add him I need to state his weight and he hasn’t weighed himself in about 20 years. We don’t own scales. His trousers waist measurement is usually 32”/34”, and he’s about 5’9”/5’10” tall.

Anyone any idea? I literally don’t even have a ballpark idea of what an adult male of his build /height weighs!

Guess how much DH weighs

@motorcyclenumptiness

About 2.5 labradors or 3/4 of a St Bernard
He’s a music teacher, so if you could just convert to trombones, that would be very helpful, thank you.

@missyB1

Dh is a Dr he’s guessing about 65 - 70kg
My money is on Dr Missy being right, given her DH probably has the most experience in actually weighing DHs.

For the prize, 74 kg

Wigeon · 12/09/2020 08:21

Sorry, I mean Dr Missy being right, given HE probably has the most experience in actually weighing DHs.

Oo I like this game. About 12.7 I'd say.

Spied · 12/09/2020 08:25

12st 5lb.

Wbeezer · 12/09/2020 08:26

My DH has a 32" waist and is 5 10/11, slim build but a bit of a belly now and he weighs 12 stone exactly, so my guess is 11st 10lbs.

Wigeon · 12/09/2020 08:26

Have texted local friend to ask if she has bathroom scales and could either host a weigh-in or lend me the scales.

I'm going for 83.5kg.

Is the prize the DH?

Mistigri · 12/09/2020 08:31

Dh is a Dr he’s guessing about 65 - 70kg

Got to be top end of this range at least as my DS is 5'9 and 65kg with a much leaner build (though people wear their weight differently of course). I'd have gone for 75kg.

dollypartonscoat · 12/09/2020 08:31

Hmm, since everyone seems to be ignoring the half pound that gets rounded down but is always there, I'm going to say 11 stone 9 and a half.

ElanaD · 12/09/2020 08:32

Nice bod!

I'd guess 11-12 stone. Def looks like he's within a healthy range.

Savoury · 12/09/2020 08:34

Is there a woman in the country who hasn't weighed themselves in 20 years?!

I'm guessing 68.5kg

Miloarmadillo2 · 12/09/2020 08:35

This thread is oddly compelling. My DH is the same height and has just lost 12kg after a diabetes diagnosis which was a bit of a wake up call. I'm guessing his 'before' weight which was 85kg/13 stone. Get your DH to measure and keep track of the 'bit of a belly' as it needs to be kept to less than half his height, as well as working out his BMI. DH's BMI at diagnosis was only 27 and he was squeezing into 32-34" trousers not admitting they were a bit tight!

Schoolsout2 · 12/09/2020 08:39

14 st 6

notso · 12/09/2020 08:41

Bloody hell! 11 stone is way to light an estimate. I'm just short of 11 stone and I'm 5ft5 and a size 8 woman.
Envy I'm 5ft4 and at 10 stone 10 I was a size 12/14.

I think he's 11 stone something. He looks the same build as my Dad who's 5ft 8 and is in the 11 stones after losing loads of weight.

WunWun · 12/09/2020 08:45

@IndiaMay

Really?? I'm 5'8, size 12-14 and obviously overweight and I'm 11 stone!
Extracurricularfatigue · 12/09/2020 08:46

I really don’t see much of a belly there!

@Wigeon I suspect a troll thread here and your husband being imaginary, given your regular updates. Wink Grin

My DH is taller (over 6ft) and fatter than that and recently dieted to 13 stone 7lbs and got himself into a 36” waist, so can’t imagine for a minute your DH is 13 stone. I’m going for 12 stone 2lbs.

I’m amused at the poster querying why people are offering weight in stones but not why we’re all still also measuring in feet.

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/09/2020 08:46

60 x 3lb trombones. (12 stone 12)

larrygrylls · 12/09/2020 08:49

BMI of 24 (high end of healthy, not overweight) would give 74kgs, which is close to my first total guess of 72kg. In old style that is about 11 stone 8.

pinkbalconyrailing · 12/09/2020 08:51

this thread really shows how diffficult it is to gauge a weight from a photo
a) the image is 2d
b) most people out and about are overweight
c) clothes sizes mean shit as they vary so much.

Goatinthegarden · 12/09/2020 08:52

Hmmm, my DH is a similar height (although reckons he’s closer to 6foot). He’s slightly broader, wears the same waist size, has no belly, but definitely some love handles and is 13st 7lbs, so I reckon all these 12 stone guesses are a bit conservative. Men carry more muscle so are usually heavier than they look compared to women (in my non scientifically based opinion).

I say 13st 3lbs.

larrygrylls · 12/09/2020 08:54

Pink,

Really, I am impressed how small the variance is around a mean of 11 stone 7 ish.

What we need is the answer now, which does require scales.

Atalune · 12/09/2020 08:55

Similar to my DH SO I WOULD SAY 78Kg.

Sliding in before the weigh in for the win!

Smarshian · 12/09/2020 08:56

I’d say 11st 10.5. Eagerly awaiting results
