Guess how much DH weighs

So I am going to add DH (with his permission!) to the Zoe app which is helping researchers track what’s going on with Covid in real time (you report whether you feel well/unwell every day).

However, to add him I need to state his weight and he hasn’t weighed himself in about 20 years. We don’t own scales. His trousers waist measurement is usually 32”/34”, and he’s about 5’9”/5’10” tall.

Anyone any idea? I literally don’t even have a ballpark idea of what an adult male of his build /height weighs!

12st 12lb

Chicchicchicchiclana · 11/09/2020 21:04

12 stone in kilos is 76.3 if that helps you gauge the kg answers on here.

beautifulxdisasters · 11/09/2020 21:06

I'd imagine the Zoe app just needs a rough idea of whether he's normal, overweight, obese etc.

I really want to know now though Grin

My DP is about that height and has been 13-14 stone in the past and looked much heavier than yours so I think the guesses of 80+ kg are too high. I weigh "more than I look" though (I am nearly 13 stone and a size 10...) so who knows!

topcat2014 · 11/09/2020 21:06

I am that height, waist, and 80kg

powershowerforanhour · 11/09/2020 21:06

I dunno but he's got a fine set of pins, tell him.

trilbydoll · 11/09/2020 21:08

12st at the most, unless he's solid muscle under that shirt. 73kg is my guess (sorry for the mix of imperial and metric)

ellieboulou33 · 11/09/2020 21:10

12st or thereabouts

PolarBearStrength · 11/09/2020 21:13

DH is about 4 inches taller and a bit leaner (ridiculous 26 inch waist 🙄) but also carries a bit more muscle. He was 80kg on the scales today (12 stone 8lbs) - never usually weighs himself but he’s racing tomorrow so thought he better check, otherwise I’d have no idea! Based on that I’m going to say closer to 12 stone or slightly over.

Jontysmum · 11/09/2020 21:13

Get him on some scales. We need to know 😁

Elieza · 11/09/2020 21:17

A prize you say ...... Grin
My moneys on 11st 2 lbs

If I win I’d like you to post a particularly cute cat photo on the thread... Grin 🐈

Kashtan · 11/09/2020 21:18

82-85kg
As an aside why are folk still using stones, UK went metric ( in stages) but at the very last date 20 years ago.

Ginkypig · 11/09/2020 21:18

Dp is same height and definitely a 32 wais and 32 leg and he is normally within a few lbs under or over 12 stone.

If he has a shirt on like the picture his belly is slightly flatter but he wouldn't wear a slim trouser like that so it could just be the difference.

VenusTiger · 11/09/2020 21:19

My local Boots has scales OP - it's impossible to guess due to bone density, muscle mass vs. fat (which we all have btw) also our heads alone weigh a stone don't they lol... he'll have to weigh himself I'm afraid.

Mylittlepony374 · 11/09/2020 21:22

My husband is bit taller, same waist, similar belly, 88 kg.

VenusTiger · 11/09/2020 21:23

@Kashtan you mean stone? I've never used kg, haven't got a clue! I even weigh my 7yr old son in stone and pounds still lmao - nothing wrong in it - if we need to know we use Google Wink
I also still measure height in feet and inches 🤷🏼‍♀️

MutteringDarkly · 11/09/2020 21:23

I'm guessing eleven stone.

Dougt · 11/09/2020 21:24

12 stone 4

DumDaDumDum · 11/09/2020 21:25

80kg dead on would be my guess.

DP is similar but less belly and is 78kg x

1002fru · 11/09/2020 21:25

80-85kg. Guess based upon knowing my DHs weight.

NothingIsGoing2GetBetterItsNot · 11/09/2020 21:29

I reckon 11 stone too, same height and build as my dad who was 11-11½st in his heyday!

HowFastIsTooFast · 11/09/2020 21:30

I'm clueless about weights but DP guesses 78kg, based on your DHs build and height in comparison to his own.

DP is 6'3'' and quite slender and weighs about 83kg.

You realise you have to come back and tell us once you've got him weighed? Smile

Bwlch · 11/09/2020 21:32

Is he doing an impression of a chicken or does he always stand like that?

Wigeon · 11/09/2020 21:33

I have just read him all the guesses and told him he owes it to the women (and a few men) of Mumsnet to go round the neighbour’s to get weighed! Think he might be persuaded if we can weigh the DC at the same time (DC now upper primary and lower secondary aged, no idea what they weigh either but at least I could look in their Red Book weight charts and make a guess based on their last known centile!

@Elieza - it’s a deal!

OP posts:
Wigeon · 11/09/2020 21:35

@Bwlch - he was initially standing perfectly normally (arms by side) but I said you couldn’t see his shape and so he had to put his hands on his hips. Usually not very chicken-like, fortunately.
